DOOL: Confrontations and Consequences

Will stirring something in Maggie... Sarah getting confusing news.... two fan favorites doing anything they can to stay out of jail....

A moment of truth comes Maggie's (Suzanne Rogers) way when she visits Will (Chandler Massey) in prison to talk about the night of the accident and it will not be a pretty one.

While Will wants out of jail but it means that his freedom leaves Maggie locked away.  Not a good option.  The only way to make things right and take the heat off him is if Maggie remembers what happened!

A chat with Will will stir things up inside Maggie, but will it all come out at once?  And, if (err, when) it does, what will Maggie do with the truth?  She's still in a very fragile state and struggling to hold herself together.  Will the realization push her over the edge (especially when the truth about Mickey comes out too?"

And speaking of Mickey, Sarah (Linsey Godrey) gets a shock when she hears the name of Mickey's match.  This unexpected twist has heads turning and raises a few eyebrows.  How could she and Eric (Greg Vaughan) not be able to save their little girl but this person can?  It doesn't make sense?

Meanwhile, Ben's (Robert Scott Wilson) location becomes common knowledge as he and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) fight for his freedom while Rafe (Galen Gering) gears up to arrest Ben.

The lovers take desperate and dangerous measures to keep Ben from heading back to prison, but will their efforts pay off?  Rafe needs a win and this is one opportunity he cannot let slip through his fingers.

Gabi also struggles to keep her head above water.  She did some terrible things and admitted it in front of a room full of people.  Her reasons and excuses don't mean much to anyone anymore.  She made her bed and now she must lie in it forever!  Or will she?

DOOL Poll: Hattie and Roman!

Let's face the truth!  John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Diedre Hall) are never breaking up for good on Days of Our Lives.  Not even if one of them is dead!  (It's been done already!)

This leaves Roman (Josh Taylor) without the love of his life.  And not much to do except tend bar and offer advice nobody listens to anyway.  Should he opt for the next best thing?  Lookalike Hattie Adams?  Almost 9,000 fans voted YES!!!!

Why the heck not, 75% shrug, unable to summon up much passion, but equally unable to think of a reason why they shouldn't either.  Hattie is close enough to Marlena.  As long as she doesn't open her mouth. (One time she did it, she ended up throwing up on Roman.  Nobody wants a repeat of that!)

They both need someone, and the other is there.  Hattie is ready, willing, and able.  And Roman, is, well, bored......

25% of the fans say it's too weird.  It's bad enough that Roman no longer looks like the Roman that Marlena first fell in love with.  In fact, he looks weirdly like Chris Kositchek--how weird is that?!

But even weirder is the resemblance that Hattie has to Marlena.  How is Hattie to know that it's her Roman truly loves?

While both Hattie and Roman don't seem to care, is it a good way to start off a relationship?  Or will it be the downfall to their romance?

Neither can seem to find love, so should they give it a try--or should Roman give Kate (Lauren Koslow) another try?  And Hattie was just raving about how SteVano (Stephen Nichols) looks at her!  Is SteVano will to go for his lookalike to his "queen of the night?"

Because as it's been said many times, John and Marlena will NEVER break up!!!!

Co-Stars Show Support for Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith After Being Fired

It was quite a shock for Days of Our Lives fans last week when Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith revealed that they read in a script that their characters would be leaving the popular NBC soap.  Apparently, it wasn't just the actors and their fans who were taken by surprise -- so were their co-stars.

The young actors have been rather popular, playing out the tender love story of Will Horton and Sonny Kiriakis in Salem -- on and off for almost a decade.  They have worked hard on the challenging material and their co-workers have taken note.

Wally Kurth, who plays Smith's dad, Justin, took to Twitter to explain his own thoughts about their leaving by responding to Massey's Tweet that confirmed his exit and to share his belief that this is not the last that Salem will see of the popular duo.

Showing Support

 "These two wonderful actors and terrific young men consistently gave their best and it made @nbcdays the best it's ever been.  I will truly miss working with them.  And I look forward to their return. @ChandlerMassey @freddiesmith," he wrote.

It should be noted that much of the time, actors worry about the safety of their own jobs and don't often speak out when others are let go.  Kurth's kindness didn't go unnoticed.  James Reynolds, who has played Abe Carver on and off for almost 40 years, used Kurth's Tweet to share his own thoughts about the situation.

"I'm on board with Wally, these two young men are wonderful people and thoughtful actors.  Life will be good for both of them. @wallkurth @ChandlerMassey @freddiesmith @daysofourlives @nbcdays #DAYs," he wrote.

For fans who are sad about the exits, the two young actors will continue to be seen on the show through the middle of September.  Will they return after that?  Stay tuned!

Days of Our Lives: Strange Truths and True Confessions

There's a reveal about Adrienne's death became public knowledge, a cure being held hostage, a couple reunited, and more...

Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) begins to slowly but surely remember her involvement in the Mother's Day car accident that robbed Adrienne (Judi Evans) of her life.  When the fragmented memories become far more vivid, she confronts Xander (Paul Telfer) and Victor (John Aniston) and demands an explanation.

Both men do their best to dissuade Maggie of the notion that she did anything wrong but during the confrontation, she recalls even more details and comes to the stunning realization that it was she who caused Adrienne to swerve off the road.

Her confession is loud enough that a returning Sonny (Freddie Smith) overhears and the young man proceeds to eviscerate the trio for their parts in his mother's death and his husband's imprisonment.

Off that searing showdown, Maggie heads to the police department to tell her version of events to the authorities and surrender her person.  But will justice be done and the wrongly accused freed?

Gabi:  Trump Card

Things are looking pretty grim for one Mrs. Gabriella Josephina Hernandez DiMera.  Not only does she have to sit and listen to the venom that a visiting Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) spills forth but she also has to hear from a gloating Chad (Billy Flynn) that she has been dethroned as head of DiMera and suffer the violent wrath of SteVano (Stephen Nichols). 

But salvation may be just around the corner.  Spoilers reveal that Gabi's bone marrow is somehow a perfect match for an ailing baby Mickey and Gabi tells a relieved Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) that she would be more than willing to provide it... as long as they see to it that she is sprung from her jail cell!

Odds and Ends

Valerie (Vanessa A. Williams) and Justin (Wally Kurth) urge Eli (Lamon Archey) to work things out with Lani (Sal Stowers) -- which is exactly what he does.  A reconciliation between the star-crossed pair follows.

Meanwhile, despite her valiant efforts, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) is forced to say goodbye to Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) as he's imprisoned yet again.  With his execution imminent, Ben makes peace with Clyde (James Read).

On the day that Ben's death sentence is to be carried out, Ciara receives some key information concerning Jordan's (Chrishell Stause) killer.  Might that information concern Evan (Brock Kelly), whom spoilers have being raked over the coals by Rafe (Galen Gering) for his deceit?

Finally, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) overhears a telling conversation, Justin is thrown when "Steve" shows up on his doorstep, and Roman (Josh Taylor) worries about Hattie (Diedre Hall). 

Days of Our Lives Star Victoria Konefal's Missing Aunt's Body Found

Last week, Days of Our Lives star Victoria Konefal asked her social media followers in the Brooklyn area of New York to keep an eye out for her missing aunt, who suffered from dementia and had wandered off.  Now she's letting everyone know that tragic news that her body has been found.

Victoria Konefal--Family Heartbreak!

The actress originally shared the shocking news via her Instagram stories that her aunt, Czeslawa Konefal, had gone missing and was last seen at St. Stan's church on Diamond and Driggs.  Now CBS has reported the details.

She also gave an update, via Instastories once again, and it was the worst outcome possible.  "My aunt has been found but unfortunately she did not make it," she wrote.  But the young star, who plays Ciara on the NBC soap, wanted everyone to know how much she appreciated their help.

Grateful For Those Who Searched

"To those of you in NY who searched for her, to those who shared her missing person's poster and to those who sent your loving prayers, on behalf of me and my family, we greatly appreciate you.  From the bottom of our hearts.  Thank you," she wrote.

But that wasn't all.  She then added, "I know many of the fans actively searched for her and messaged me about it.  i haven't responded but know that I acknowledged you and I thank you for taking time out of your lives to try and help."

It is yet another heartbreaking tragedy for Konefal's family.  Her grandmother had passed away from Alzheimer's disease a few years ago, motivating the actress to do the Alzheimer's walk not too long ago.  Condolences are sent to Victoria Konefal's entire family during this very sad time.

Which Character Needs to Come Back...Last year?

News broke last week that Days of Our Lives was getting rid of several popular characters.  This was after the ones who were gotten rid of during the year-long time jump.

With all those folks leaving, is it time for some others to come back?  Over 4,000 fans polled on who they'd like to see return:

The Winner and Always the Champion

We demand Sami (Alison Sweeney), 40% proclaims.  Marlena (Diedre Hall) and Roman's (Josh Taylor) little girl should always be in Salem.  Her son, Will (Chandler Massey), needs her.  Sami could have offered him all sorts of tips about sitting in prison.  She should bring her other children Allie, Johnnie, and Sydney too.  And then, there's....

EJ

An equally excited 30% are pulling for EJ to make his way back to Salem.  It would be nice if he were played by James Scott.  But, if he's not available, well, remember how EJ was last seen wrapped in bandages and burned to a crisp?  He could emerge flaunting a new -- although equally attractive -- face.  You're not picky.  Just reunite EJami!

Seeing Stefan

A slightly smaller 27% of DOOL fans would prefer Stefan (Brandon Barash), however.  Gabi (Camila Banus) could use his support right now.  She's kind of in jail for kinda threatening to kill Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes).  For a problem like that, it's always good to have a DiMera in your corner.  Or Sami.  Though we doubt she has much sympathy for her son's baby mama.

Unwanted

Only a tiny 2% are itching to see Vivian, whether she's played by Louise Sorel or Robin Strasser.  Maybe it's because the last time we saw her, Lani shot her son.  Maybe it's because she's become a complete cartoon character.  Or maybe because you figure you can only pick one member of that family, and Stefan is your pick. 

What's Happening in Salem......

Fans found themselves in the proverbial fire this week on Days of Our Lives and it isn't inaccurate to say the someone got burned!  Gabi discovered that she was set up, and when she tried to kill Julie with the pacemaker application, all it did was lead to her arrest!

Life isn't so good for Ben when Chad discovered him and Ciara in the DiMera gatehouse and then Rafe...who brought him back to prison.....

Things might have been worst of all for Kayla, though, after Stefano finally revealed himself to her...  and although she thought that it was a game at first, hearing the man talk convinced her.....

The flames are rising higher, and soon there will be an inferno.....

An agreement is struck between Will and Victor to avoid exposing Maggie.... but Maggie herself has some pressing questions about the night of the accident....

When her confidence is shaken, Chad's only grows, delighted as he is that Gabi has been fired from DiMera Enterprises...  Stefano's bold streak gets stronger, as well, when he approaches Justin with an offer to trade Kayla's freedom for Marlena.
