My Soap Opera Predictions for 2024

With 2023 coming to an end, I made my predictions for The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, and Days of Our Lives-Peacock for 2024!

Do you think any of these could come true?

Days of Our Lives-Peacock 2024

Xander will learn he is Victor’s son and take over the reins at Titan from Alex as CEO; John’s past as the Pawn will haunt him after Konstantin recognizes him; as Holly faces a long recovery from her New Year’s Eve ODing, Nicole will learn that she was right all along about Eric and Sloane’s adopted son, Jude, as EJ and Sloane lose their partners as Eric and Nicole reunite after learning that Eric unknowingly adopted his son; Bo and Hope return to Salem just in time for a Salem whodunit: Clyde Weston is murdered in Statesville Prison: the suspects—Chad, Ava, Stefan, EJ, Gabi, and a back-from-the-dead Abigail!

General Hospital

Esme fights her dark side after her memories return; Nina beats Cyrus and confesses to Sonny her role in turning Carly and Drew to the SEC for insider trading, hoping he’ll forgive her, but Sonny reunites with Carly instead; Gregory comforts Alexis when her fears come to light and Kristina can’t give up the baby she’s agreed to carry for Molly and TJ; While in Paris, Trina and Spencer have romantic bliss—maybe because they’re away from Port Charles; Lucy’s plot to use Scott is thwarted when Luke shows up alive and blows them out of the water; Lulu comes out of her coma just in time to help Charlotte in channeling her inner Helena Cassadine, to which Valentin is eternally grateful, prompting a romance.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Thomas returns to his inner dark side after Hope rejects his proposal, telling him she doesn’t love him—she was using him to get the truth about Emma Barber when Xander Avant texts her before returning to L. A. as a patient under Finn’s care; Ridge and Donna have a drunken one-night stand after the two catch Brooke and Eric in a compromising situation—but in actuality—Brooke was congratulating Eric, who won the Forrester fashion challenge; Luna is revealed to be $Bill’s daughter, prompting Bill to reunite with her mother, Poppy, but the kicker, Li is also interested in Bill; Deacon ends his engagement to Sheila when he decides he can’t risk his relationship with Hope, prompting Sheila to return to Genoa City, knowing that she’ll never get the mother-son relationship with Finn and Hayes!

The Young and the Restless

Victoria and Cole find love and remarry making them a family with long-lost daughter Claire Grace; with Jordan in prison, Victor is there for Nikki as she once again fights for her sobriety; having renewed their wedding vows once again, Michael and Lauren’s bliss is threatened by Sheila Carter, who’s returned to Genoa City after Finn rejects her; Jack, Ashley, Kyle, and Diane celebrate Tucker’s demise, forcing him and Audra to exit Genoa City, prompting Tucker to rethink his revenge plot on the Abbotts; Billy and Chelsea wed, but their bliss is threatened by Billy’s obsession to prove himself to Jill at Chancellor-Winters; Lily returns to Genoa City to find that Heather has made herself comfortable in Daniel’s life!

Weekly New Year Spoilers: January 1-5, 2024

 The Young & the Restless

Things come to a head for Summer and Sharon, as the former confronts the latter on her feelings about the man they both care about — Chance. By the end of the week, look for Sharon to make a big decision.

Monday, January 1:

Y&R will air classic episode #7739, from October 17, 2003, in which Nick questions Sharon’s loyalty, JT and Brad work together to rescue Colleen, and Kevin keeps up appearances with Lily.

Tuesday, January 2:

Victor forces a truce between Nick and Adam.

Victoria makes a shocking decision.

Nikki takes matters into her own hands.

Wednesday, January 3:

Sharon confronts Summer about her feelings for Chance.

Daniel and Heather clear the air.

Danny gives Daniel unsolicited advice.

Thursday, January 4:

Nikki fights the temptation to drink.

Chance makes a confession to Sharon.

Victoria works on her relationship with Claire.

Friday, January 5:

Sharon relies on the past to make a decision about her future.

The Bold & the Beautiful

The year gone by was chock-full of surprises, from Eric’s deadly diagnosis to his miraculous recovery, from Thomas and Hope’s hookup to Deacon and Sheila’s engagement, from Wyatt’s exit to Xander’s re-entrance. But it looks like January 5, 2024, is coming out swinging, determined to out-crazy the 12 months that preceded it. So as you pop the bubbly — or sparkling cider, Brooke —

Monday, January 1:

The show is starting the New Year with something old, a repeat of the episode that aired on June 26, 2023. In it, Steffy gives Hope a side-eye on the jet, Liam tells Wyatt what he witnessed, and Andrea Bocelli serenades Brooke and Ridge.

Tuesday, January 2:

Hope is caught off guard when Thomas proposes.

Xander recounts a story about Thomas to Finn.

Wednesday, January 3:

Thomas is surprised by Hope’s response to his proposal.

Steffy gets defensive about Thomas to Finn.

Thursday, January 4:

Bill goes on a date with Poppy.

Conflicted by Xander and Steffy’s dueling stories, Finn fears Hope may be in danger.

Friday, January 5:

Separately, Hope and Thomas learn of Xander Avant’s damning accusations.

The last 365 days have hit daytime especially hard, taking from the community one bright after another. As 2023 finally shows itself the door…

General Hospital

Carly finds herself dealing with a shock she never saw coming, while the New Year finds Sonny crossing paths with a familiar enemy. Meanwhile, someone might just be on to Esme’s little game, while Sam and Drew have to navigate a tough situation.

Monday, January 1:

Thanks to sports, ABC will not be airing the soap today.

Kin Shriner and John Stamos recall their days in a ‘lion’s den’ in the middle of “hopped-up housewives.”

Tuesday, January 2:

Carly kicks off the week with news that will forever change her life. Is the show about to address the death of Bobbie and her late portrayer, Jacklyn Zeman?

Sonny and Michael have had some epic battles over the years. Will the confrontation they’re about to have be along those lines?

Olivia and Lois have a whole lot in common — including their taste in men, obviously. So why does the current Mrs. Ned Ashton have a beef with the former title holder?

Ever since Drew mentioned sending Scout to a new school, there’s been a bit of tension between Sam and the hunk. Can she figure out the right way for them to co-parent?

Willow turns to Nina for help.

Wednesday, January 3:

Michael has something to tell Sonny that he’s definitely not going to like hearing. Meanwhile, Willow begins to see her husband’s motives suspiciously.

As Carly grapples with a stunning twist of fate, Drew is there to offer her support.

Tracy starts to figure out exactly what’s going on. (It looks like this story is about to hit that bump in the road!)

Ava gets an unexpected visitor. (Dare we hope it’s the beginning of a redemption arc for [Spoiler]?)

Thursday, January 4:

As Carly continues to spiral, she lashes out. Can anyone help her regain control?

Since Cyrus keeps claiming to have turned his life over to God, Sonny shouldn’t be surprised to cross paths with him at church. (It’s hard to say which of them belongs there the least!)

Adam continues to pop up in Joss and Dex’s story. This time, they discover the troubled young man drunk as the proverbial skunk.

Get ready, Portia, because Curtis has a romantic surprise for you!

We’ve always said Laura was a pretty smart cookie. When she comes to a conclusion about Esme, will it be that Ace’s mom has remembered everything and is only pretending to still have amnesia?

Friday, January 5:

Felicia and Anna get caught up in memories as they reminisce about days gone by.

When Maxie needs a bit of comfort, Cody is there to provide support. (Wonder how Spinelli feels about this budding friendship?)

Sasha tells Nina to have faith in things working out the way they’re meant to.

We’ve felt it coming for a while, but things between Sam and Drew are about to come to a head. Meanwhile, Dante finds himself in a bit of a pickle.

Days of Our Lives-Peacock

While many celebrate the New Year, Clyde delivers an order, and Xander asks Sarah an important question — plus, Nicole is beside herself, and everyone learns something shocking about EJ!

Monday, January 1:

Nicole’s world is rocked like never before.

Alex says exactly the wrong thing to Theresa at exactly the wrong time.

Harris has questions that hit a little close to home for Stefan and Ava.

After a rough year, one couple manages to ring the New Year in together.

Tuesday, January 2:

EJ has a new target on its sites.

As Tripp asks his mom a loaded question, she and Stefan get new marching orders.

Wednesday, January 3:

Chad and Julie have an important conversation.

Sloan has a major problem on her hands where Leo’s concerned.

Everett happens to overhear an argument that could prove eye-opening.

Nicole sits by Holly’s side and prays for a miracle.

Thursday, January 4:

Tate stands by what he’s said, even as it appears it could prove a huge mistake. Meanwhile, John tries offering Brady a bit of advice.

Having rung the New Year in right, Johnny and Chanel kick off 2024 in bed together. Sadly, things don’t go quite as well for Abe and Paulina…

Friday, January 5:

When Xander asks Sarah an important question, will she give the answer he’s hoping for?

Tripp has to disappoint an about-to-leave-town Wendy.

Theresa and Brady come together to keep Tate from spiraling in the wake of bad news. Meanwhile, everyone finds out exactly what EJ’s done.

As 2023 takes its final bow, take some time to remember the soap stars that have passed away in 2023…

The sparks are gonna fly as Nikki faces her worst nightmare (in more ways than one). Meanwhile, one couple decides whether lightning really can strike twice, while another may not be quite as thorough with one another as we’d been led to believe. Soapbox: Jordan’s story is the gift that keeps on giving — but it gets a lump of coal for “this” hole in the plot.

Monday, December 25:

Wednesday, December 27:

Tucker may have a whole lot of cash, but today he’s going to get something from Devon he requires a reality check!

Will Audra be pleased or horrified when a familiar face comes knock, knock, knockin’ on her door?

Thursday, December 28:

As we prepare to see 2023 take its final bow, Michael and Lauren find a rather unique way to ring in the New Year! (Given what his portrayer recently said about this epic romance, we can’t wait!)

It may seem as if things are over between Ashley and Tucker, yet she can’t help but struggle with lingering feelings for the guy.

Friday, December 29:

A classic episode which originally aired in 2003 will air today… and it’s a doozy! Sharon and Nikki put aside their differences to save the day, Kevin’s dark side is on full display as he sets fire to Gina’s, and Ashley… well, what happens with her will no doubt bring you to tears. Again.

The unusual tag team of the Teflon Don (Sonny) and the Mayor of Port Charles (Laura) work together to find answers.

More: Is Esme back to her bad self?

As 2023 draws to a close, Lois comes across a bit of shocking information.

With the year coming to a close…

Kayla takes an important meeting with Paulina and Chanel

Note to self: Avoid wandering through the park alone. Why? Because bad things happen there! This time, someone’s about to be abducted!

Leo manages to turn Sloan’s smile upside down.

Friday, December 29:

Leo tries desperately to get back something he recently lost. But it might all depend on how someone else is feeling toward him!

It’s another corporate shake-up as Billy fills Jack in on his decision to walk away from the family business.

With his family facing challenges on numerous fronts, Victor keeps his guard up. (Which, frankly, is far smarter than relying on the ranch’s security team, who haven’t done such a great job of keeping the clan safe over the years?)

Tuesday, December 19:

Something tells us the “unexpected guest” who is about to show up on Victor and Nikki’s doorstep won’t be dropping off Christmas presents!

Friday, December 22:

In cooking up a surprise for true love Lauren, Michael proves to be quite the unconventional thinker!

 The Young & the Restless

Unhappy holidays are on tap as Nikki tries to play a believable teetotaler, Jordan schemes to not just keep her off the wagon but roll the thing right over her! Plus, Phyllis and Heather make their moves, and a feud reaches the point of no return.

Monday, December 11:

Victor vows to protect Nikki at all costs. But is he facing the one battle that he cannot win?

Michael takes on a new client, presumably one that he already knows, yes? (Does he take any other kind?)

As Adam makes progress with Sally…..

Tuesday, December 12:

Ah, nice to see the Abbotts playing sweetly again! Today, Ashley and Jack strategize together.

Mamie and Jill’s feud reaches the boiling point. Wait… if this is the boiling point, what has it been doing all this time? Simmering?

He could do worse than to pay close attention to Mama: Diane teaches Kyle a valuable lesson.

Wednesday, December 13:

In other developments, Victoria must make a difficult choice where her newfound daughter is concerned, Lily turns to someone surprising, and Tucker… Well, he does what he’s always doing. He schemes, schemes, and schemes some more!

Restless Rant! Jordan gets her revenge! Plus, the scene that was both powerful and cringe-y, and the big comedown for fans.

We knew it was comin’, and now it’s here: Victoria faces a tough decision about Claire. Can she really shut out her own daughter? But would she really be trusting enough to let Claire in after all that she’s done?

One step at a time, Daniel navigates his new normal with Heather.

Wednesday, December 6:

With good reason, Victor is concerned about Nikki’s sobriety. Will she be able to climb back on the wagon?

When Lily confides in Nick, we could be inching closer to the storyline Joshua Morrow has been hoping for. Read all about it here.

There seems to always be room for one more schemer on Tucker’s team. Today, it’s Nate that he’s trying to recruit.

Thursday, December 7:

Perhaps having gotten wise to Kyle’s master plan — more on that here — Billy shares unsettling news with Jack.

What are brothers for? Devon helps Lily during a crisis.

Not that it really needed any stirring, but Tucker nonetheless stirs the pot between Jill and Mamie.

Friday, December 8:

When Michael surprises Phyllis, we can only hope that it will be in a good way.

Knowing that the way to a woman’s heart is her tummy, Danny cooks up a romantic evening for Christine.

Consider Ashley an immovable object as she stands her ground with Jack and Billy.

Dante and Jordan have a bit of information to share with Laura in her mayoral capacity.

Thursday, December 7:
