Kat is about to see something that could change her life!

The Bold & the Beautiful

Last week…

In addition to nursing one wicked hangover, Will is confused about what transpired the previous night. When he figures out what really happened, he may be sorry he’s no longer confused. Carter’s proposal is interrupted by Ridge. Wait, so like, Carter’s proposing again… even though he and Hope are already engaged? Though we’ve questioned Bill’s judgment for some time now, he’s still the one who tries to help Liam figure out what he wants to be in his next chapter.

Sheila makes herself an accessory to a crime, and Liam kisses Hope. Will struggles with guilt over a drunken night that he can’t remember. When Liam makes a heartfelt plea to Hope, will she be forced to make the decision? Ridge and Carter make a pact. Which only counts, need they require reminding, if it’s sealed with a pinky swear.

Katie gives Will questionable advice, and Deacon pushes Hope to get back with Liam. Hope confesses everything to Deacon. Everything? What “everything”?

Preview! Sheila’s marriage is on the line as she faces an impossible dilemma.

A desperate Will turns to Sheila for help, and Carter wants to marry Hope right away. Will goes to Sheila for answers or at least clues as he desperately tries to piece together his memories.

Sheila warns Luna, and Beth takes Hope on a guilt trip. Talk about working at cross purposes! Just as Liam is expressing his determination to reunite his family, Carter is ready to elope with Hope.

O.M.G! What Luna doesn’t know could literally kill her!

Coming up…

Unroll the welcome mat, ’cause Matthew Atkinson returns as prodigal son Thomas. But at least for starters, his main concern doesn’t seem to be making trouble for ex-lover Hope and her new fiancé, Carter (whose proposal she readily accepted after turning down Thomas over and over again).

On the contrary, the designer isn’t fixated on the one who got away; he’s all about seeing to it that nothing stops Ridge and Taylor from retying the knot. In fact, he goes so far as to tell perpetual obstacle Brooke point blank, “My dad’s marrying my mom. Don’t do anything to come between them ever again.”

That will certainly go over well!

Of course, we fully expect that Thomas’ homecoming will have a major impact across the canvas, not just on the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle. Consider all the pots he could stir here.

In other developments, it falls on Ivy, of all people, to remind Hope that “there’s only one woman Liam loves… and that woman is you.” Eh, except when it’s Steffy.

Later, Liam waxes rhapsodic about Beth. “That is our daughter,” he tells Hope, “Our whole life.” Eh, except for your other daughter, Kelly. Remember her, Liam?

The Young & the Restless

Last week…

Victor blackmails Cane, and Nick and Adam disagree. Ripping a page from his classic Victor Newman playbook, the crafty tycoon turns the tables on Cane. File this under major progress: Nick and Adam put their differences aside to help their family. Though Lily interrogates Holden, he isn’t likely to provide the answers for which she’s looking.

Cane rocks Phyllis’ world after contemplating life and Colin’s final moments. Gather round for story time — backstory time, even — as Cane reveals details about his years away from Genoa City.

Cane’s visit leaves Billy off-kilter, and Nick tries to help Phyllis. Nate confesses to Devon. Wonder if Lily is reminded anew of her past with Cane. Nick does damage control with Phyllis.

Young & Restless recruits Days of Our Lives vet Tamara Braun to play a mystery woman with ties to [Spoiler].

Preview! Kyle’s bold move could cost him Claire for good!

Jack wants payback after a clash with Victor, and Claire walks out on Kyle. Never having heard the adage about what to do if you don’t have anything nice to say, Victor and Jack trade barbs over family matters. As Kyle makes a bold move, Victoria worries about Claire’s future. Could Kyle be popping the question to his girlfriend?

Kyle cooks up a terrible plan, and Amanda returns to Phyllis and Cane bickering. Unafraid to swing for the fences, Nikki makes a big change at Chancellor. Amanda returns home to a new assignment. Family gossip sesh activated: Billy tells Jack about Cane’s latest plan.

Young & Restless’ Tucker McCall is back in a big way… but not how you think.

Coming up…

Victor rallies the troops, Kyle gets advice he may or may not wind up listening to, and two Vesper-drinking pals join forces against a common enemy.

Monday, September 1:

From the moment Diane returned — both to Genoa City and from the dead — we suspected she wasn’t nearly as reformed as she claimed to be. Will Jack wind up feeling the same way after finally seeing his wife’s true colors?

Kyle has an important question to ask Claire. And yes, it’s that question. Will he get the response he’s hoping for?

One person who probably will not get the answer she’s looking for is Audra, who goes to Nate asking for a second chance. Good luck with that, hun.

 Tuesday, September 2

If Cane thought Victor would be a pushover… well, we might have to question his sanity. The newly returned exec is about to learn the hard way what dealing with Victor is really like!

Claire may not be the same dangerous woman we first met, but she still has a few tricks up her sleeve… as she catches Kyle off guard!

Amanda and Phyllis haven’t seen eye-to-eye on everything of late, but the legal eagle is still ready to take a risk for her gal pal.

Wednesday, September 3:

Kyle gets a bit of advice from his parents. (Although with their track record, he might consider doing the opposite of whatever they recommend!)

Watch out, Audra, because two people (Holden and Claire) who aren’t particularly thrilled with you right now are about to team up… and one guess who their target is!

It sounds as if things are about to get pretty serious between Billy and Sally as he makes a commitment!

Thursday, September 4:

Victor is usually the one making grand gestures, but Nikki turns the tables on him with a splashy, romantic evening!

How will Michael feel about the new opportunity that is about to lay itself at his feet?

Claire and Audra face off!

Friday, September 5:

If it’s a day of the week ending with a Y, then Victor must be preparing to lead the Newman clan onto the proverbial battlefield!

Never one for subtlety, Phyllis winds up overplaying her hand.

If Cane takes Lily’s advice to lay it all on the table, will that score him points with his ex?

Last week…

RIP Joseph Mascolo

Joseph Peter Mascolo (March 13, 1929 – December 8, 2016) was an American musician and dramatic actor. During his long career, he acted in numerous motion pictures and television series. He played villain Stefano DiMera on NBC's soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1982 to 2016. He also starred as Massimo Marone on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful from 2001 to 2006.

Early life

Mascolo was born on March 13, 1929, and raised in West Hartford, Connecticut. His parents, Anna Mascolo (née DeTuccio; 1910–2010) and Peter Mascolo (1901–2008), were immigrants from Naples, Italy, and had their 80th wedding anniversary shortly before his father died. Mascolo had one sister, Marie LaVoie. He attended the United States Military Academy after graduating from high school. Mascolo attended the University of Miami. To support himself financially, he studied acting under famed acting coach Stella Adler in New York City. He was originally trained in classical music and opera.

Career

Theatre

Mascolo was in the 1962 production of Night Life as Kazar and the understudy of Neville Brand. He was in the 1966 production of Dinner at Eight as Ricci. Mascolo was in the 1969 production of The Time of Your Life as Blick. His final theatrical appearance was in 1972's That Championship Season as Phil Romano.

Film

Mascolo's first film appearance was in 1968's Hot Spur as Carlo. He was in the 1972 neo-noir action crime–drama film Shaft's Big Score! as Gus Mascola. Mascolo was in 1973's The Spook Who Sat by the Door and 1978's Jaws 2 as Len Peterson. He was in 1981's Sharky's Machine as JoJo Tipps and 1982's Yes, Giorgio. Mascolo's last film appearance was in 1986's Heat as Baby.

Television

Mascolo was best known in the recurring role of Stefano DiMera on Days of Our Lives from 1982 to 1985, returning briefly in 1988, again from 1993 to 2001, and making appearances again since 2007 until Stefano died in 2016, making his final appearance on February 9, 2017, airing 2 months after his death, and won three Soap Opera Digest Awards. He has also played a wide range of roles on many different series, including (but not limited to) a Stefano-like villain named Nicholas Van Buren on General Hospital and Carlos Alvarez on Santa Barbara. Before achieving his fame, he was seen in the earlier soap operas Where the Heart Is and From These Roots. He also made primetime television appearances on All in the Family, The Eddie Capra Mysteries, Lou Grant, and The Rockford Files.

Mascolo portrayed Massimo Marone on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful beginning in August 2001. He decided not to renew his contract with the show in July 2006, due to a lack of storyline, and decided to return to Days of Our Lives, where his character Stefano DiMera was resurrected after six years.

Mascolo also appeared in The Incredible Hulk in October 1979, as Mr. Arnold in the episode "Brain Child". 10 years later, he would appear again in NBC's The Trial of the Incredible Hulk, as Albert G. Tendelli, a police confidant of Daredevil. He also appeared in an episode of Hart to Hart on 1/3/84 as villain Mr. Rhodes.

Personal life and death

Mascolo married Rose Maimone in 1953. They had a son named Peter. Maimone died in 1986. In 2005, Mascolo married his second wife, Patricia Schultz. In January 2016, he told Soap Opera Digest that he had suffered a stroke in the spring of 2015. "During my rehab, I thought this would be a good time for Stefano to leave."

Mascolo died on December 8, 2016, in Santa Clarita, California, at 87, after years of battling Alzheimer's disease. He was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills).

RIP Drake Hogestyn

Donald Drake Hogestyn (/ˈhʌdʒstən/; September 29, 1953 – September 28, 2024) was an American actor best known for his long-running role as John Black on the American soap opera Days of Our Lives.

Early life

Hogestyn was born on September 29, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he graduated from North Side High School. He attended the University of South Florida in Tampa on a baseball scholarship, majoring in pre-dentistry. He graduated with a double major in microbiology and applied sciences. He was then drafted by two professional baseball organizations: the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees. Hogestyn signed with the Yankees and played third base for one of their farm teams until he was injured in 1977.

Career

Hogestyn began his acting career by entering a Columbia Pictures talent search that included 75,000 people. Hogestyn was among the 30 selected, and his first starring role was on the prime-time series Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. After a few minor roles (one as Kort, leader of the Micro Workers in the episode 'Princess Metra' on the 80s television series Otherworld), Hogestyn joined the cast of Days of Our Lives in 1986. He initially played a mystery man referred to simply as "The Pawn." However, it was soon revealed that The Pawn was the presumed dead Roman Brady. Hogestyn quickly became a fan favorite and enjoyed many pairings, the most popular of which was with longtime co-star Deidre Hall. In 1998, while starring on Days, Shelley Long enlisted Hogestyn to join her for the upcoming series Kelly, Kelly. He was set to star in both until the filming of the pilot episode of Kelly, Kelly conflicted with his schedule on Days, and the role went to Robert Hays.

In 1991, Wayne Northrop agreed to return to Days to reprise his role of Roman. In order to keep both actors on the show, Drake's story was retconned, and his past was rewritten. Despite this change, Hogestyn remained one of the show's most popular actors. The pairing of John Black and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) is one of the show's enduring supercouples.

In November 2008, it was announced that Hogestyn, along with Hall, had been fired from Days of Our Lives, with budget cuts cited as the reason for their exits. In July 2011, it was announced that Hogestyn and Hall would reprise their roles as John and Marlena, respectively, in an attempt to "refresh" the soap. Hogestyn made his final appearance in the role during the episode released on September 9, 2024, due to the soap's advanced taping schedule and his death on September 28 of the same year.

Personal life and death

Hogestyn and his wife, Victoria, had four children.

Hogestyn died from pancreatic cancer at his home in Malibu, California, on September 28, 2024, a day before his 71st birthday.

RIP Chris Robinson

Christopher Brown Robinson (November 5, 1938 – June 9, 2025) was an American actor, screenwriter, and film director, sometimes credited as Christopher Robinson.

Career

Robinson began his career as an actor in the 1950s. Robinson was a young adult actor and stuntman and appeared in such films of the 1950s as Diary of a High School Bride and Beast from Haunted Cave. He was in Combat! Season 1, "The Reunion" in 1962. In the 1960s, he was cast as a flight engineer and top turret gunner, Technical Sgt. Alexander "Sandy" Komansky on ABC's 12 O'Clock High in the last two seasons. In 1972, he got the lead as a fanatical snake charmer in the horror movie, Stanley.

Robinson played Dr. Rick Webber on General Hospital from 1978 to 1986. Following this role, he joined Another World in late 1987, where he played the role of Jason Frame and was reunited with Denise Alexander, who had played Lesley on General Hospital. Jason was murdered in early 1989. He then appeared on another soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, as Jack Hamilton, joining in the early 1990s and leaving after three years. He last appeared in this part in 2005, having made several guest appearances over the years. Robinson returned to General Hospital after a 16-year absence in 2002, only to see his character of Rick, killed off in a controversial storyline that altered the back story. In 2013, he appeared in a 50th-anniversary celebration episode as Rick's spirit, making peace with his old rival Alan Quartermaine when they both appeared to Monica and Alan's sister, Tracy.

In 1984, Robinson was a spokesman for Vicks Formula 44 cough syrup. The commercials aired on national television and began with the quote, "I'm not a doctor, but I do play one on TV". Robinson was replaced in the commercial by Peter Bergman after Robinson's legal difficulties.

In 2013, Robinson's son Chris made a documentary film about Robinson's obsession with Beanie Babies; Robinson invested $100,000 to purchase numerous Beanie Babies as an investment, but lost the money when the value of the items plummeted.

His last on-screen performance came in the 2022 feature film Just for a Week, directed by Michael Jason Allen.

Personal life and death

Robinson was the father of Taylor Joseph Robinson, cast as C.J. Garrison in The Bold and the Beautiful.

He was married to actress Phyllis Yarwood, whom he cast in a few of his movies.

In 1985, Robinson was convicted of income tax evasion. He was allowed to continue his role on General Hospital under a prison work-release provision.

Robinson was married to artist/actress Jacquie (née Shane) Robinson, and he had five sons from three previous marriages.

Robinson died of heart failure in his sleep at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona, on June 9, 2025, at the age of 86.
