Days of our Lives Spoilers: A Tragedy and A Funeral

Days of our Lives spoilers for Monday, July 20, 2020 promise an episode full of Salem-style shockers as more and more storylines go off the rails. Tragedy strikes and the town says goodbye to one of their own.

Days of our Lives Spoilers Highlights

Grab your tissues and your snacks because it’s going to be a whirlwind day in Salem. Jake (Brandon Barash) is going to have his life turned upside down once again when Gabi (Camila Banus) drops yet another bomb on the poor fella. When is enough going to be enough for the newcomer? He may just regret ever showing up in Salem at all.

Goodbye Forever

Does this news have anything to do with the funeral coming up? Who’s dying? Who do the Salemites mourn? And why the rush? Expect lots of tears and even some odd indifference towards the fallen resident.

Don’t get too sad yet, though. One thing soap fans know is that not every death is permanent. This could very well be just a ploy by some very shady schemers.

Sick Or Second Thoughts?

As if that’s not enough, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) goes down for the count the morning of her wedding. She’s sick as a dog and can hardly move. Is it the flu? Is it cold feet? Did someone spike her drink last night? So many possibilities are on the table and Ciara will search for answers.

Hello, Jordan

Spoilers show Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) isn’t doing much better. An eerie dream about his sister has him reeling. Is this a premonition of things to come or is it just your normal, every night nightmare? Make sure you pay close attention to what Jordan (Chrishell Stause) has to say.

Will Wedding Bells Ring?

This all could be very bad for Ciara and Ben. An unwell bride and an unsettled groom isn’t exactly a great kick-off for a marriage. People have walked away from the altar for less in this town. It will take a lot of love and strength for this young couple to pull it together and get through their vows.

Days of Our Lives Veteran Suzanne Rogers Celebrates Her Birthday

Life is sorely complicated for Days of Our Lives stalwart heroine Maggie Simmons Horton Kiriakis.  For every celebration, there's a crushing defeat.  But luckily for Suzanne Rogers, the actress who plays Maggie, life isn't so complicated.  And in fact, she has a major milestone to celebrate.

Happy Birthday, Suzanne Rogers!

And that;s because she was born on July 9, 1943, in Midland, Maryland, which means that this talented actress is turning 77 years old today!  Born Suzanne Cecelia Crumpler, Rogers left her hometown for New York City at the age of 17 in order to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer.

She achieved that goal by joining the famed Radio City Music Hall Dancers (AKA the Rockettes) and appearing in several Broadway musicals including, Coco, Hallelujah Boy, and Follies.

After 10 years of the hustle and bustle of New York living, Rogers headed out west to try her luck in Hollywood.  She studied under the auspice of Stella Adler and soon after, Rogers was hired to play farm girl Maggie Simmons on Days of Our Lives.

Rogers made her debut on the soap on August 20, 1973, and she remained a part of the cast until 1984.  At that time, Rogers was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a rare neurological disorder, and she chose to exit Days when her symptoms began to worsen.

A year late, with her health much improved, Rogers returned to Days and successfully convinced the show's producer, Betty Corday, to have Maggie diagnosed with the same ailment.

Among Roger's other credits is the TV movie Never Say Never:  The Deidre Hall Story (in which she played herself) and episodes of Love, American Style, Quincy, M.E., Little House on the Prairie, and Knight Rider.

We wish Suzanne Rogers a very happy birthday and many more!

Kate has the mayor in her back pocket and Viv hopes her oldest and dearest enemy can pull some strings (ha!).  Can she convince Kate to do her a solid or is she running out of luck?  The last thing Kate wants is Vivian running around town, especially after the last time they saw each other.

Gabi's Met Her Match!

Spoilers show Gabi's in for a rude awakening when she shows up at the garage to see her husband.  She walks into Jake's (Brandon Barash) apartment to find he's not alone.  She is in for quite an eyeful when she sees Gwen (Emily O'Brien) and realizes she has some serious competition on her hands.

This is gearing to be quite the scandalous love triangle.  A man who isn't quite sure whether he fits in anymore, one woman fighting for the love she lost, and another lady battling for the man she adores.  Little do these players know there's another twist coming next week that will turn their lives upside down once again.

Team Up or Take Down?

Two weddings down, two to go.  The clock ticks down to Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Ben's big day and they are in a rush to get everything done.  so much so, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) even considers letting Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) help him with a special task.  Is he ready to give the benefit of the doubt or is he keeping her close so he can watch her every move?

Wedded Bliss... For Now!

Days of Our Lives News Update: Alison Sweeney Celebrates Incredible Milestone

The coronavirus wasn't going to ruin a special day in Alison Sweeney's life, as on July 8, the Days of Our Lives icon celebrated a memorable date with husband, Dave Sanov.

Congratulations, Alison Sweeney

"Dave and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary in our own backyard," Sweeney wrote on Instagram, alongside an adorable photo of the couple enjoying a lobster dinner.  "Not quite how we'd planned it, but ... that's one of the best lessons we've learned over the last 20 years.  Some of the best adventures come when plans get chucked out the window."

Sweeney married Sanov after dating for three years and the couple shares two children together.  Among those wishing her congratulations on their special day were actresses Danica McKellar, Kellie Martin, and castmates Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Lauren Koslow (Kate), who wrote, "Happy 20th anniversary - Ali & Dave!  The celebration and view look perfectly beautiful and RELAXED."

On-screen, Sweeney's Sami is no stranger to weddings, having been down the aisle a whopping 14 times, though only about half made it to the "I do" portion of the ceremony.  Naturally, her real-life marriage has fared much better.

In 2015, Sweeney told People Magazine that the couple shares dinner every anniversary and talks about how the relationship is going.  "We kind of give each other a job evaluation, which sounds a little embarrassing!  We talk about our three favorite things about the other person and then three things that we could work on," she said at the time.

Could you imagine Sami doing that with Austin or Lucas or E.J."  Days fans are highly anticipating Sami's return to Salem next week, which is sure to cause fireworks when she learns her daughter Allie is pregnant and considering giving up the baby to Sami's ex, Rafe!

We wish Sweeney and Sanov many more years of wedding bliss!

Happy birthday Haley Pullos!
