Dealbreaker: Why Tyler Christopher HAD To Leave General Hospital

Christopher recently opened up about his departure in the December 5 issue of Soaps In Depth, explaining that financial reasons kept him away. “We couldn’t come to an agreement that made sense for me and my family,” the actor said. “As we all know, the economics of daytime have changed. As a result of that, I just couldn’t make this work.” However, he had nothing but good things to say about his two decades on the show, reminiscing about all the people he began working with back in 1996 who grew up along with him. They include Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky), Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily), and Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth). Despite wanting to return to GH, Christopher has kept himself busy with movies–namely films called The New Wife and Pretty Broken. So, it looks like the actor has embarked on a new point in his career, but without Nikolas, something still seems missing from General Hospital. GH airs weekdays on ABC.
