Ben has his suspicions that Claire’s the firestarter and brings it up to Ciara. Ciara’s defensive but Ben’s determined to know what really happened that night. He gets Marlena to hypnotize him and remembers something new. A cell phone ringtone. He doesn’t know that it’s Claire’s.
Kristen wants to prove to Brady that she and Eric are through so she can be with him. She gets desperate and stages an incident that portrays Eric in a terrible way. Eric keeps trying to get Nicole to listen to reason but the more he talks, the more she feels forced to continue to portray Nicole blaming him for Holly’s “death.”
Kristen answers the Salem Inn door, thinking it’s Xander but it’s Maggie. Kristen quickly closes the door and puts on the Nicole mask, then reopens the door as if nothing is amiss. When Kristen sees that Maggie’s drunk, she uses it to her advantage and makes Maggie think she’s seeing things. She tells her to go home and sleep it off.
There’s a Brady/Horton July BBQ coming and Sarah and Rex will host.
Gabi has real feelings for Stefan and tries to get Chloe out of the picture so she can marry Stefan and dump him then take him for all he’s worth. But with these real feelings, will she carry out her plan?
The show is going to address Peggy McCay’s passing by having Caroline Brady pass on. Several returns are in the works including Christie Clark as Carrie and Alison Sweeney as Sami as well as Brandon Beemer as Shawn who will say a heartwarming goodbye to a beloved matriarch. They honor Peggy and Caroline while impacting a current storyline. Carrie’s harboring a secret and confides in someone. What she says has a role in impacting these stories playing out.
Will’s condition is getting worse. It looks as if he isn’t going to make it so they decide that Sami and Lucas need to be informed.
Claire thinks that Tripp and Haley are running away together. She doesn’t realize JJ and Haley are lovers. At the same time, Ben and Ciara are almost figuring out that Claire set that cabin fire. Soon, the situation with Tripp, Haley, and JJ comes to a head at the cabin.
Jenn thinks of a way for Jack to regain his memories and lets Jack know. At the same time, Jack’s starting to see Eve is manipulating him. He begins to wrestle with thoughts that she may not be the woman for him. He also sees an opportunity to become the man he once was. He’s not sure what to do.
Sarah and Xander could have the potential for a real lasting love story.
