Days of our Lives Recaps: History Revisited and Grave Trouble

The Days of our Lives recaps for March 22-26, 2021, features Ciara getting a history lesson, Sarah getting shipped off, and Charlie Dale continuing to cause trouble from beyond the grave.

Days of our Lives Recaps Highlight

A visit from Theo (Cameron Johnson) lifted Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) spirits tremendously, however, she still couldn’t shake her unease over Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) claim that they loved one another.

And she certainly wasn’t prepared for him to burst into her room and recount their love story from the bloody and bruised meet cute all the way up to her latest injury. But even with the tale told, Ciara still remembered nothing…and she believed even less. At least until Uncle Roman (Josh Taylor) confirmed everything that had been previously said.

Care Package

Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) struggle over the syringe filled with Dr. Rolf’s (William Utay) mind-altering serum ended with the former being injected with the fateful dose.

In response, Kristen coerced her prisoner into climbing inside a steamer trunk, then had the trunk flown to that DiMera-owned tropical island.

Family Ties That Bind

After ensuring that everyone was firmly on the same page – especially Aunt Paulina (Jackée Harry) – the extended Grant/Carver family gathered for the christening of Jules and Carver. Afterward, the majority of the group chanced upon Paulina’s daughter, Chanel (Precious Way), who was in the midst of running a con on Claire (Isabel Durant) and Tripp (Lucas Adams).

Paulina settled the matter, and the outstanding bill, then explained to her wayward daughter how things were going to proceed. The free-flowing money tap was shut off, and Chanel had better get to looking for a job!

The Plot Thickens

Sami (Alison Sweeney) may not be guilty of killing Charlie (Mike Manning), but she did put a bullet in his corpse, so that’s something. However, there’s every chance that Sami will wind up paying the piper despite her innocence.

She hastily confessed to the crime before learning that Allie (Lindsay Arnold) wasn’t the perpetrator, and now the D.A. won’t let her retract the statement.

Hopefully, Rafe (Galen Gering) will learn of the two other very viable suspects that visited Charlie on that fateful night – Tripp and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun)!

A Critic’s Review of Days of our Lives: Oh How The Tea Was Spilled

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the DAYS week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review

Have you ever tried to sit down and explain the ongoing plots of your favorite soap opera to a nonviewer? If you haven’t, and Lord knows that you should because this genre needs all the new converts that it can get, be forewarned that you’ll probably be met with a lot of side-eyes.

Kind of like how Chanel (Precious Way) reacted to all the tea that Claire (Isabel Durant) was spilling. No, Miss Thang, Claire wasn’t making any of that stuff up. Her aunt is indeed suffering from selective amnesia, thanks to a head injury that she sustained after being trapped inside an exploding room by a man who offed her previous jailer who was working on orders from the man who initially attempted to brainwash her husband into killing her.

Gosh. When you put it all out there…actually, when you put ANY of it out there, it does sound like somebody just made it up.

Good thing that Claire didn’t mention anything about the masks that can completely alter your face, voice, measurements, and *ahem* other delicate areas.

Much like the one of Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) that Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) just whipped up in a jiffy; the one that completely convinced both Rex (Kyle Lowder) and Xander (Paul Telfer) that Dr. Horton was actually hot for her cheating ex.

And speaking of crazy plot points, we need some major clarification on what exactly Kristen did with Sarah.

Like, we’re smart enough to comprehend that she shipped her off to the oh-so-convenient DiMera Island, but is that tropical paradise staffed by anyone at all qualified to care for a woman who was doped up with a drug that nearly drove Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) completely insane?

For goodness sake, she still occasionally thinks she’s not actually herself but rather some brunette who bears an uncanny resemblance to actress Kate Mansi! What chance does Sarah stand if she’s merely left to her own devices?

Further DAYS Musings

* The Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) murder case continues to intrigue, especially now that we’ve been offered new suspects – Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).

Soap Hub Performer of the Week for Days of our Lives: Bill Hayes

“Can we please just focus on our blessings?” Leave it to Doug Williams to get to the heart of the matter. For that, and a plethora of other heartfelt and comedic moments, Soap Hub bestows upon Days of our Lives star Bill Hayes our Performer of the Week Award.

Bill Hayes: Performer of the Week

There’s only one man alive with enough gumption to tell Julie Horton Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) to quit it, to stifle, and to give thanks for the favors bestowed upon her – and that’s Doug.

He had absolutely no time for her complaints about Xander’s (Paul Telfer) besmirching Alice’s antique sofa or the vitriol that Gwen (Emily O’Brien) spat her way. And he wasn’t about to agree with her that Jack (Matthew Ashford) should be made to choose between his daughters.

And like it or not, and Julie did not like it, he was absolutely right – a sentiment she also shared. Julie took stock of her life, then thanked her lucky stars to have a man such as Doug in her life — and viewers are grateful to have an actor like Bill Hayes to enjoy.

The couple then set off for the hospital to visit their granddaughter, and Hayes deftly portrayed Doug’s desire to comfort Ciara (Victoria Konefal) in the way prescribed by doctors, while at the same time struggling with the notion of keeping her in the dark where Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) was concerned.

Doug’s an old romantic at heart, and it’s a condition that has gotten him into trouble many a time. He managed to stay mum…but only just. And Ben’s heartache loomed large on his conscience.

Next, Doug accompanied Julie to the christening of Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani’s (Sal Stowers) twins, where he made the acquaintance of the one and only Paulina Price (Jackée Harry).

He was tickled pink by her assertion that he was a silver fox, and though he knew that she was playfully teasing him, Doug still agreed to continue doing, “whatever it is, [he’s] doing,” to keep his, “95 years old and counting,” self going strong.

Not only did Hayes, and by extension Doug, effortlessly steal the spotlight each and every time he was on the scene, he also imparted to the viewing public some hard-earned wisdom: “We’ve gotta choose to live in the light, not the dark.”

Days of our Lives Marci Miller and Husband Ryan Matteson Welcome Baby Girl

Days of our Lives Marci Miller not only plays a mom as Abby to children Thomas and Charlotte, but she’s become a mother in real life, too! The actress and her husband, Ryan Matteson, have announced the birth of their daughter!

Marci Miller Welcomes Her Daughter To The World

“My heart could not be larger,” Matteson posted on Instagram along with a photo of Miller and their new baby. “Our little 6lb 10oz, Willett James Matteson joined us air breathers on 3/13 during a Denver white out blizzard. Mom and dad are ecstatic. And tired.”

Miller shared on her page a series of black and white photos of mom and dad bonding with their newborn. “And just like that, we see in colors that we never knew existed,” Miller wrote. “Willett (Willie) James Matteson interrupted her parents’ game of blackjack at a mountain casino to be born March 13th in the midst of a blizzard. She has us over the moon. .”

News of Miller’s pregnancy hadn’t gotten out prior to the announcement of Willet’s birth. The actress’s co-stars past and present have been weighing in with congratulatory posts on the news of her daughter’s birth. “Yahhhh. Congratulations my friend. She’s beautiful!” posted Billy Flynn (Chad).

Former DAYS cast member Kristian Alfonso (ex-Hope) shared: “Aww Congratulations   you tooo !!!” Jordi Vilasuso (Rey, The Young and the Restless; ex-Dario, DAYS) wrote: “BEAUTIFUL!!! Congrats you guys!!!” Adds Sal Stowers (Lani): “She’s just the cutest little thing!!! .”

Soap Hub also extends congratulations to Miller and Matteson on their new bundle of joy. No word yet on if the actress is taking maternity leave and/or if this will affect Abby’s screen-time. Be sure to check out the posts below, showing photos of Willet and her happy parents.

Days of our Lives Spoilers Video Preview: Killers, Collars, Chillers, and Hollers

Your Days of our Lives spoilers video preview for March 29-April 2, 2021, is here. And, by the looks of the teaser, it’s going to be an action-packed week you do not want to miss!

Days of our Lives Spoilers Preview

It’s April Fool’s week and lives turn upside down in an instant. Watch for a very pregnant Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to deliver Stefano’s baby, John (Drake Hogestyn) suffering Sami’s wrath, and Xander (Paul Telfer) and Bonnie (Judi Evans) playing dress-up.

A great couple shuffle also spins some drama. Spoilers show Shawn (Brandon Beemer) making out with someone who is not his wife and Claire (Isabel Durant) locking lips with one of Salem’s eligible men.

Days of our Lives Spoilers: Gabi and Philip Get Jake Hot and Bothered

The Days of our Lives spoilers for Tuesday, March 30, 2021, tease an ex giving in to his green-eyed monster, a request for solidarity amongst the criminal class, and a plea for some medical expertise.

Days of our Lives Spoilers Highlight

Gabi (Camila Banus) insists on taking an injured Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) back to the DiMera mansion so that she can personally attend to his boo-boos – and Jake (Brandon Barash) winds up catching her doing her best Florence Nightingale impression.

And much to the widow DiMera’s pleasure, the sight of Gabi wiping his competitor’s brow causes Jake to get awfully territorial. But when he’s called out for it, will Jake admit his jealously?

Tit-For-Tat

Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) is not the least bit pleased to learn that Brady (Eric Martsolf) has gone to Statesville Prison to see her…or Susan as it were.

She knows that her frazzled doppelganger is about a hair’s breadth away from ratting out their Parent Trap-esque switcheroo – but what is a diabolical villainess like her to do? Why, enlist the assistance of another equally diabolical villainess, of course!

Kristen hurriedly picks up the phone, dials the institution, and asks for Vivian (Linda Dano); and when she comes to the phone, Kristen begs for her intervention where Brady and Susan are concerned. But Vivian isn’t so willing to offer a helping hand. Has Kristen forgotten that she already owes Viv a favor…a favor that entails breaking up Jake and Kate?

Therapeutic Intervention

While Ciara (Victoria Konefal) basks in the attention lavished upon her by Theo (Cameron Johnson), Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) turns to Marlena (Deidre Hall) for support.

And when Doc Evans expresses her desire to be of more help, Ben is ceased by a notion. What if Marlena were to hypnotize Ciara and walk her through the memories that she’s repressed? Would that, could that actually do the trick?

With Sarah Gone, A Look At What’s Next for Days of our Lives’ Xander

Getting dumped by your bride on your wedding day is enough to send the most well-adjusted groom into a tailspin. So what will it mean for the emotionally damaged Xander Kiriakis on Days of our Lives? Well, it might not be pretty, unless the show’s writers decide to toss viewers a curve and not go down the predictable route.

Days of our Lives – Back to the Gutter

What’s the predictable route? Sending Xander (Paul Telfer) back to the gutter. Reverting the character back to the cold cruel thug he was before he fell in love with Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and developed a heart and a conscience.

Xander could, once again, be relegated to doing his uncle Victor’s (John Aniston) dirty work, no matter how harsh or ruthless. Without having Sarah to inspire him to do better and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) around to hold him accountable, he could simply return to his old dastardly ways.

Onward and Upward

Xander fans, however, are hoping for a better fate. Considering how far Xander has come, and Telfer’s appeal as a leading man, the character is abundant with potential. Over the past two years, he’s gone from henchman to Titan executive.

And aside from his misguided role in the swapping of Sarah and Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) babies, which he only took part in because of his love for Sarah and Maggie, he’s actually transformed into a pretty decent guy. Perhaps he could throw himself into his work and somehow make peace with Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson), as the pair team up to take Titan to new heights and finally overtake DiMera Enterprises.

Friends and Lovers

As for a new leading lady, it should take a while before Xander starts looking for anyone new. Moving on with another woman too quickly would be disrespectful to his true love story with Sarah. Xander needs time to grieve and heal after losing his soulmate.

In the interim, the soap might want to focus on his friendship with Jack (Matthew Ashford), who’s been missing Jennifer (Cady McClain) since she left Salem. The pair’s blossoming “bro” relationship has been fun to watch, and there’s a nice rapport between the two actors. Maybe Xander could help Jack on an undercover story at The Spectator.

If and when the time comes for Xander to move on romantically, there aren’t many options in Salem. Half the women in town loathe him and for good reason. He’d likely have to hook up with a newcomer to town or someone with a past as iniquitous as his.

Currently, that leaves one woman: Ava. The former mob princess would be an interesting match, not to mention a formidable one.

Take Your Pick: Which Woman Should Theo Romance on Days of our Lives?

Theo returned to Days of our Lives for the baptism of Lani and Eli’s twins. He’s sticking around to check in on a newly returned from the dead Ciara (Victoria Konefal).

Days of our Lives Polling

If Theo (Cameron Johnson) plans to make Salem his home once again, we know what that means – he’s going to need a love interest! Who almost 3,000 voters believe that love interest should be!

Fair to Claire

Over half of you, 55%, are looking to Claire (Isabel Durant) to capture Theo’s heart – this time. Once upon a time, Claire wanted Theo… mostly because he was in love with Ciara. That ended badly. Claire’s fault.

But she’s grown a lot since that time. She is much better girlfriend material – after a stint in the looney bin – now. And, after Charlie (Mike Manning), she deserves a nice guy. Who won’t rape her friends. We can count on Theo for that, at least.

New Girl In Town

Chanel (Precious Way) has just hit Salem. She and Theo haven’t even met yet. Her non-family interactions have been with Claire and Tripp (Lucas Adams). She stiffed them for her champagne bill after claiming the mid-afternoon nip was her treat. Then she whined to her mother, Paulina (Jackée Harry) about being cut off financially.

Lani (Sal Stowers) called her cousin entitled and shallow. She does not seem to be a nice person, at all. And yet 42% of the audience wants to match her up with Theo, ASAP. We can’t imagine why.

Over and Done

Only 3% voted for Ciara. Sure, she and Theo grew up together had feelings for each other. Once. But Ciara’s one true pairing is Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). Whether she remembers him or not. So leave those two alone, Theo, and find someone else to keep you company.

You and Ciara can be friends and support each other… while you find love somewhere else.

Days of our Lives’ Mary Beth Evans Mourns An Uncle, Celebrates Dads

On Monday evening, Days of our Lives star Mary Beth Evans paid tribute to a dearly departed family member, and she also took the opportunity to sing the praises of dedicated dads and hands-on fathers.

Mary Beth Evans Honors Lost Loved One

“This past week our sweet Uncle Lew died,” revealed Evans in the opening line of her post on Instagram. “He was such a sweet man; loving husband and amazing father. We all loved him dearly and admired his devotion to his family. He will be so missed by all of us.”

The actress then shared that she had grown up without the benefit of having a father in her life and that she spent the majority of her childhood wishing that she had.

But Evans eventually found comfort, and peace, in the arms of Dr. Michael Schwartz, her husband of 35 years and counting.

“I am so lucky I met my husband when I was young. He showered me with love and support, and filled the hole in my heart of not having a strong male presence in my life.

I am in awe of my husband’s relationship with our children. The love and support they know they can always count on. I am thankful every day that he is my partner in life and I never take it for granted.”

The beloved DAYS star wound down her post with a tip of her hat to “those dads who do everything in their power to be connected to their children, sometimes against all odds. To love them unconditionally and shower them with affection,” and she concluded with a summation of her own personal philosophy.

“The greatest gift to all of us in life is to know that we are loved and accepted. That’s what we long for…what we search for. To have it is gold.”

Be sure to read the entire social media entry featured below. Soap Hub sends condolences to Evans and her family during this most trying of times.

Days of our Lives Spoilers: Ciara Has A Major Decision To Make

The Days of our Lives spoilers for Wednesday, March 31, 2020, tease a chance of total recall, an instance of self-reliance, and an inconvenient truth.

Days of our Lives Spoilers Highlight

Following a chat with Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), Marlena (Deidre Hall) swings by Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) hospital room and makes her an offer that she’s hoping won’t be refused – undergo hypnosis in order to restore the memories that she’s repressed.

Ciara’s floored by the suggestion…but also slightly intrigued. However, will she actually submit to the procedure – especially in light of the fact that what she will be remembering (or, possibly not) is a life spent with the Necktie Killer?

Money Matters

Paulina (Jackée Harry) firmly explains to Chanel (Precious Way) that if she wants to continue to live in the way she’s grown accustomed to, she had better get a job. Like it or not, and Chanel does not like it, the money tap is getting turned off. The only help that Paulina will be offering from here on in is finding her daughter some accommodation…because she isn’t a complete and utter monster.

So, what in the world is a young woman who’s “always relied on the kindness of strangers,” to do? Here’s hoping that Chanel actually finished that degree that Mama mentioned she paid for.

But maybe Miss Price won’t have to stoop so low as to go on the prowl for employment. There’s every probability that Chanel is the old flame that Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) runs into, and Lord knows whenever that young man finds a woman in distress he bends over backward to assist.

Confession Is Good For The Soul

Susan (Stacy Haiduk) – really Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) in disguise – has something to get off her chest…and she shares it with Brady (Eric Martsolf). No, not that.

Instead of coming clean about her little charade, Kristen lets Brady know that his ex-wife – Miss Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) “Slutty Songbird” Lane – is still in love with him. Color Brady absolutely shocked.

A woman that he used to be married to and that he works alongside every day, still has the hots for him? Quelle surprise!

Who’s the best of the worst daytime villains ever (or would that be the worst of the best)? Find out as we rank the baddies in a new photo gallery that can only be described as good and evil!

Bold & Beautiful spoilers for Tuesday, March 30:

Continuing to get comfortable wearing the halo that now seems to be part of his regular attire, Thomas steps up for Hope during a difficult conversation with Douglas. Is there any possible way this doesn’t bring the boy’s co-parents closer?

Old habits die hard, and being (rightly!) skeptical of Thomas is a very old habit of Brooke’s. Nonetheless, Ridge is dismayed by her refusal to admit that maybe, just maybe, his troubled son has changed for the better.

Bold & Beautiful spoilers for Wednesday, March 31:

Though Thomas has done everything in his power to redeem himself in the eyes of his family and friends, it’s still not enough for one person: Brooke. So when he pleads his case, she just doubles down, all but saying that her opinion isn’t like a hemline: It ain’t gonna change.

While tending to her broken heart, what Hope really needs is a confidante — and she might get just that when Paris offers friendship with a side order of great advice.

Bold & Beautiful spoilers for Thursday, April 1:

Considering that Felony Flo once let her believe that her daughter was dead, Hope probably shouldn’t so much as raise an eyebrow over anything her cousin does. And yet… yep, she is stunned by Flo’s surprise and shocking request. (Mind you, if it were up to us, here’s what the show would be doing with the character.)

Convinced that she knows best, Brooke seeks Liam’s help in ensuring that Hope remains safe. Yeah, that’ll go well.

Bold & Beautiful spoilers for Friday, April 2:

Zoe finds an unexpected ally in Quinn — which makes sense, really. Heaven knows Eric’s wife shares the model’s tendency to connive and blame others when her plans blow up in her face. Could we be looking at a brand-new scheme team?

Liam makes a romantic gesture towards Hope. Which we can only presume will be bigger and more impressive than announcing, “Hey, guess what — I haven’t cheated on you in two whole months!” (Sorry, that was mean. But the guy does have a terrible habit of making boneheaded decisions, only some of which we’ve itemized here.)

Congratulations to The Bold and the Beautiful's 34th anniversary, March 23, 1987.

Lisa Lo Cicero as Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine

What causes Olivia to rush to General Hospital while husband Ned is skeptical?

General Hospital spoilers for Tuesday, March 23:

Uh-oh, here’s something Jordan probably won’t want to hear: Portia and Curtis find themselves bonding over the highs and lows they’ve experienced in recent years.

General Hospital spoilers for Thursday, March 25:
