The first new daytime drama to come down the pike since
Passions in 1999 — and the first Black-centric soap to debut since Generations
a decade earlier — CBS' Beyond the Gates is set to follow the trials and
tribulations of a wealthy African-American family that resides in a posh, gated
community. The show was developed by the network and the NAACP with an assist
from Procter & Gamble (which once upon a time brought us Guiding Light, As
the World Turns, Another World and more). The estimable Michele Val Jean,
revered for her work at General Hospital and Bold & Beautiful, is on board
as showrunner and headwriter.

concerned will be proven right by the conversation they’re about to have! Get

charge where her case against Bill’s firm is concerned. Is Jacob putting
himself in the line of fire when he takes a stand against his partner,
Detective Malone?
Bill turns Dani down

the reason he came to see her. Talk about inviting the fox into the henhouse!
Derek and Ashley suggest Andre come over for dinner. Jacob and Naomi each find
themselves facing moral and ethical dilemmas.
Joey’s big secret is
revealed — and someone has a heart attack! Does Randy have a shot in heck
of getting honest answers from Doug? Vanessa’s business meeting is unexpectedly
crashed by Nicole. It’s father vs. daughter as Bill and Naomi face off!

than he ever dreamed!

Things are about to go from bad to worse for Tyrell, thanks

mom works to make sure it’s an unforgettable experience.
How will Martin react to Smitty taking on a new assignment?
The extended Dupre family comes together for a major event.

As Andre continues working on his hospital-set documentary,
it turns out that not everyone is thrilled with his project!

actions.
Samantha wants nothing more than to dive into the role of

Will warns Luna, Finn makes a vow, and Sheila meets Luna behind Deacon’s back. Crazy like a fox, Luna makes a play for Will. But will her former “brother” be tempted by her X-rated offer? Never mind how rarely anyone has done this and lived to tell. Deacon bravely — foolishly? both? — gives Sheila an ultimatum.
Electra confronts
Luna, and Sheila vows to help her granddaughter get what she wants. Heaven
help Electra! Luna and notorious man-stealer Sheila conspire over Will. Finn
struggles with the agreement he and Steffy made about Luna. If he had a hard
time staying away from his biological mother — and he did — he may have an
impossible time staying away from his biological daughter.
Liam quits Spencer
after an epic fight with Bill, and Electra shoves Luna. Hope expresses the
hurt that Brooke and Carter have sold her out. Once she gets over that — if she
even can — the question is, what’s next for the unemployed, newly single heiress?
We have a theory about that. Electra holds her own as she tells Luna to stay
away from Will. Might be wiser for Electra to hold her tongue, though. She’s
playing with fire getting the killer hotheaded!
Liam hits his head
after a clash with Bill. Bill pushes an angry Liam to his limit. And
frankly, Liam has every reason to be livid. Speaking of Liam, it’s about time
he became the target of Cupid’s arrow again. Deacon makes Hope an offer. She’s
rich, for Pete’s sake. Please don’t make her Il Giardino’s newest server.
Steffy looks on in
horror as Liam flatlines. Brooke asks a favor of Ridge. Wanna bet it’s
something along the lines of “Take me back, won’t ya, baby?” The latest return
may be Liam’s one hope of pulling through. Steffy decides to confront Bill
about Liam. Um, but is it already too late to save his life?
Next Week
Deacon shows up at Forrester Creations with a bone to pick
with Carter: the shin bone. Furious with the COO for hurting Hope, Il
Giardino’s proprietor asks, “How many times does my daughter have to have her
heart broken?” and kicks Carter in the leg. Deacon then goes full-on Cobra Kai,
at which point Carter seems to decide that it would be a good idea to fight
back.
In other developments, Luna is, hot to go. Trouble is, she
can’t seem to get Will to go with her. While she complains to granny Sheila
that she can’t understand what Bill’s son is doing with “that prissy Electra
Forrester,” what Will is doing with his girlfriend is kissing. Lots and lots of
kissing.
More: Bold &
Beautiful moves a new family to the front burner
Back at Forrester, Brooke is apparently expecting Ridge to
enter the office. But she doesn’t wait to see whether he’s who has come in, she
just comes on out in lingerie that’s sure to be Brooke’s Bedroom’s next
bestseller. Of course, it isn’t Ridge with whom she comes face to face but
Taylor. We can well imagine how she’ll react to her rival awaiting her
significant other in a nightie — even if it is strictly for business reasons.
Curiously, there’s no tease of what becomes of poor Liam,
who you’ll recall collapsed twice, was rushed to the hospital and flatlined. If
it’s really the end for “Mr. Waffle Man,” as his dad so recently called him,
half the canvas is going to be wrecked.
The Young & the Restless

Lily confronts Damian,
and Jack sends a warning to Victor. Victoria’s been married and remarried,
run giant companies and had a kid come back from the dead. So when Jack seeks
counsel from her, no matter what it’s about, she oughta have some wise words to
share. Though Claire and Kyle are as different in temperament as night and day,
they still manage to find common ground. Lily is done beating around the bush.
She doesn’t ask for answers from Damian, she demands ’em.
Mark Grossman opens up
about his brother’s tragic death at 17: “He was in a lot of pain.”
Restless Rant! The
person behind “Aristotle Dumas” revealed! Plus, Alan exposed as Martin. Get the
details inside!
Adam and Chelsea share
news, and Amy demands answers. It’s all well and good that Damian makes a
promise to Nate. But can his half-brother trust that the shifty newcomer will
keep that promise? Sally probably thought that when she and Adam broke up, he’d
be done giving her headaches. But nope. Even now she has occasion to lose
patience with her ex-lover. It all makes sense now! Damian’s boss is a blast
from distant Y&R past. Chelsea shares surprising news with Billy. As ticked
as he was that she cheated on him with Adam, it’s shocking news to us that
they’re even speaking!
Phyllis surprises
Sally, and Lily puts Damian on the spot. By the hardest, we’re sure,
Phyllis plays nice with Sally. Herding cats would be easier than this: Jack
keeps Billy in line. The spoiler doesn’t actually say “for now,” but we all
know that Billy only ever stays in line temporarily! No helpless damsel in
distress, Lily takes matters into her own hands.
Victor guesses at
Dumas’ identity, Traci gets a call from Alan, and Kyle shares suspicions with
Jack. Victor had better be careful what he wishes for when he orders
Michael to play hardball. When the attorney goes for broke, he goes all the way
and keeps right on going! Diane worries about Traci — and understandably so.
But Beth Maitland has a very different take on the predicament in which her
character finds herself. Read all about it here. Lauren asks Nikki for doozy of
a favor: The redhead wants her friend to betray her own husband!
Eric Braeden shares
aww-inspiring then-and-now photos with his beloved three brothers.
Victor approaches
Audra, and Traci breaks down. Given that Victor has history with the
mysterious Aristotle Dumas, he’s probably the right person to give Lily
unsolicited advice as she continues to suss out the tycoon’s real tie to
Damian. Aw, Traci, we’ve all fallen for a psycho at least once. Nonetheless,
she second-guesses her decision making. Audra receives an unexpected
invitation.
Scrubbing in? Mark
Grossman tells all about his General Hospital audition.
Next Week
All roads lead to Alan,
while Traci boldly interrogates the bat-guano-crazy shrink, Sharon and Phyllis
team up to seek retribution for his torture of them. In other developments,
Ashley comes home to Genoa City, Audra stares down temptation, and a couple of
exes close the book on their relationship.
Monday, April 7:
Leafing to a fresh page in his scheme-a-day calendar, Victor
reveals a new plan of attack.
We wouldn’t want to be in Alan’s shoes when Phyllis and
Sharon learn new information about their kidnapper. In fact, maybe he should
use those shoes to start running now!
Seems like ages ago that they split up, but only now does
Chance find closure with Summer.
Restless Rant: Young
& Restless has issues, folks! Plus, Alan returns, Victor targets Kyle, and
Dumas achieves a goal.
Tuesday, April 8:
Ashley returns home to chaos. So, in other words, just like
she left it?
After the ordeal that Sharon and Phyllis were put through,
they understandably want justice.
Traci makes a distress call. It doesn’t happen until
Tuesday, and we’re worried about her already!
Wednesday, April 9:
As Jack and Ashley fret about Traci’s safety — see, we’re
not the only ones! — Chance uncovers shocking information.
Thursday, April 10:
Traci demands answers from Alan. Um, considering that he’s a
total psycho, maybe she should start by politely requesting answers?
Proving how far they’ve come since they were taken prisoner
together, Sharon and Phyllis form a surprising alliance.
Friday, April 11:
Taking a break from swatting down his own children, Victor
vows to punish Jack’s son, Kyle.
Does it bode well for Victoria and Cole’s renewed
relationship that she tries to learn from past mistakes? ‘Cause some would say
that their first marriage was one such mistake!
Audra considers an offer that may turn out to be too
tempting to turn down.

while Emma does the same with Anna. Sorry, but we’re not going to feel terribly
sorry for Drew when he reacts poorly to being betrayed. Karma is, after all…
um, well, you know.
Laura dedicates the
new cardiac care center, the staff celebrate the hospital’s anniversary and Lucy
makes her pitch to Sidwell. Today
marks the anniversary of General Hospital. The show marks the occasion by
having the residents of Port Charles come together at the titular facility for
a ceremony celebrating the opening of the Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Care
Center.
Emma is hiding a
secret about what happened in California, and Jenz blows up at Natalia for
ruining their family. Carly and Brennan see things exactly the same way. Maxie
is on hand when Lucas needs a bit of a push. Might it be toward a new romantic
partner? Laura and Sonny break bread together. Diane, who recently mentioned to
Alexis that they might need to bring on another lawyer, conducts a job
interview. Sasha gives someone a warning they’d be wise to heed.
Her life in pictures:
Celebrate the fourth birthday of Josh Swickard’s daughter with precious moments
and a daddy/daughter date.
Does Josslyn’s new
career come with Spidey sense? If so, they’re tingling today, as she finds
herself getting suspicious. Carly has questions for Lucas. Things are
heating up between Jason and Sasha as they share a warm moment. (Anyone else
wanna bet that it involves “their” baby kicking?) Natalia and Sidwell share a
heated exchange. Portia draws a line in the sand.
They may love each
other to pieces, but Jason and Carly still have to find a way to deal when they
don’t agree. Speaking of Carly, she’s about to show up for Sonny in a big
way. Ava gets a bit of downright shocking information. Who interrupts Kai and
Trina’s special moment? Curtis and Drew take turns lobbing accusations at one
another. Cue the ominous music as Joss learns her fate…
Next Week

Apparently pushed past the limit, Lucky lashes out.
Ava has a bit of info someone might find useful, and she’s

Anna gets news that’s going to come as a shock.
When Kai makes an offer, it’s one Trina finds tough to pass
up. Will she give in to temptation?
With Sidwell on board as her backer, Lucy begins making
plans for this year’s Nurses Ball!
Tuesday, April 8:
Being in need of cash, it’s not hard to understand why Ava
looks at a situation and tries to figure out how best to monetize it!
Elizabeth is led down the wrong path.
Alexis opens up with Diane.
Olivia hopes to broker peace between two bickering parties.
At long last, Lulu and Dante lay it all on the line!
Wednesday, April 9:
Kristina tries talking her dad into seeing things her way.
Alexis has been thrown for a loop or two in her day, so
hopefully she’s prepared when it happens yet again!
Cody pushes Lulu.
Someone receives a job offer from Sidwell.
Curtis tells Laura she should be wary.
Thursday, April 10:
Vaughn takes an info-sharing meeting with Josslyn.
Jordan’s got a plan, but will Laura go along with it?
Natalia has something to confess. How will Sonny take what
she has to say?
Never one to suffer fools lightly, Tracy issues a warning.
Willow receives some advice from Nina. But is her mom
pointing her in the right direction?
Friday, April 11:
Will Carly be thankful or ticked when Jason intervenes on
her behalf?
Something leaves Willow feeling shaken.
As the connection between Jason and Sasha continues to grow,
she finds herself bonding with his son, Danny.
Anna confronts Emma.
Kai hits Trina with news that will absolutely stun her!

EJ one heck of a surprise! Jada hopes that Belle might be able to help her out.
Shawn needs someone to confide in, and JJ happens to be available! Steve’s
search for John continues. Marlena and Steve find a lead, Jada tells Rafe about
Shawn and EJ calls Belle out. The truth about John is slowly but surely coming
to light, leaving Marlena and Steve to fear the absolute worst. When Andrew is

another person is ready to call EJ out. This time, it’s Chanel’s turn, and man,

EJ is shot, Ava skips
town in a hurry and Johnny gives Chanel a scare. We knew the day was coming
when EJ would be made to pay the piper, and it’s finally here! The question
we’ll all be asking now? “Who shot EJ?” Cat tries to find a way in which she
can comfort a distraught Chad. Chanel is worried about Johnny… and perhaps with
good reason! How will Roman react to the news Kate shares with him? Orpheus is
surely just the first villain in John’s search.
