General Hospital Star Finola Hughes Celebrates Amazing Milestone!

Life has gotten a lot more interesting for Anna Devane on General Hospital, but it can’t hold a candle to the real life of Finola Hughes.
Hughes was born on October 29, 1959 in Kensington, London, England, which means that she’s turning 59 today! At 10 years old, she began to study ballet. In 1980, she originated the role of The White Cat in Andrew Lloyd Weber musical, Cats.
Her first American film role happened when Sylvester Stallone cast her opposite John Travolta in Staying Alive, the sequel to the mega-hit film, Saturday Night Fever. She has also appeared in the films Crazy, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Anton Yelchin, Soap Dish, Aspen Extreme, Above Suspicion, and Tycus.
But it’s her role as super spy Anna Devane on GH, which she landed back in 1985, that won her the hearts of soap fans. She has also played Anna on All My Children — and Anna’s twin, Alex. She has been nominated for seven Daytime Emmy Awards and won one in 1991.

Other television credits include either starring or recurring roles on Jack’s Place, Blossom, Pacific Palisades, Charmed, Dream On, and Tracy Takes On.
She was also the creative visionary behind Finola’s Jewel Box, a bohemian-chic jewelry collection that debuted on QVC in October 2005, where she combined her extensive experience in the fashion industry with her personal passion for eclectic, unique designs.
On the personal front, Hughes is married to artist Russell Young, and they have three children — sons, Dylan and Cash as well as daughter Sadie.
