Soap Opera Spotlight: A Former Sudser To Become A Real-Life Doctor!

Soap operas including Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful have their fair share of sudsy doctors, but did you know a former star from one of the daytime dramas is becoming a doctor in real life?

Christian Jules LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R) recently posted to Instagram that his former TV half-sister, Jessica Heap (ex-Eden), has enrolled in Tulane University’s medical school. In a video, Heap explains that she developed an interest in medicine after her father became ill. She says that prior to undertaking medical studies, Heap spent time in Los Angeles and pursued a career in the arts.
Heap appeared on Y&R from 2011 to early 2013. In the video below, she can be seen playing Eden in a scene with Tricia Cast (ex-Nina) and Jen Landon (ex-Heather).

The actress turned medical student took part in the University’s ‘white coat’ ceremony in which she and other students donned white coats similar to the ones they’ll wear as full-fledged doctors!
“It’s a good fit for me,” Heap says.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
