Days of our Lives Recaps: Lies, Greed, and Prisoners

The Days of our Lives recaps for April 19-23, 2021, features Ciara making travel plans, Kristen claiming yet another prisoner, Chanel putting her foot in her mouth, and so much more.

Days of our Lives Recaps Highlight

Following a heart-to-heart with Claire (Isabel Durant), Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) paid what he promised would be a final visit to Ciara (Victoria Konefal). He made an emotional declaration to his wife, and she in turn surprises him with the news that she’s planning to leave the country with Theo (Cameron Johnson)

On The Attack

In an effort to get Vivian (Linda Dano) off her back and to keep her quiet about her prison escape, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) heads over to the DiMera mansion and tries to convince Kate (Lauren Koslow) to steer clear of Jake (Brandon Barash).

Not only does Kate not fall for the explanation that “Susan” offers, but she also deduces that her visitor is Kristen in disguise. With her secret outed, and with Kate refusing to play ball, Kristen goes on the attack, and she renders Miss Roberts unconscious!

Scapegoat

Despite her claims that she never visited Charlie Dale’s (Mike Manning) apartment, Belle (Martha Madison) is placed under arrest on suspicion of murder.

The development is seen as a positive one by Jan (Heather Lindell), who recalls being the one who actually shot and killed Charlie.

Game Plan

Though he initially refuses to go along with Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) plan – which consists of him seducing Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) away from Brady (Eric Martsolf) – Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) eventually relents.

However, Chloe fails to take the bait, so Lucas switches tactics and insists that he’s dying of an inoperable brain tumor and that he wants to spend his remaining days exploring the might have been with her.

In The Family Way

At Jack’s (Matthew Ashford) urging, Gwen (Emily O’Brien) arranges an appointment for a blood test which will officially confirm her pregnancy. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) personally takes the sample, and it is she who concurs that Gwen is with child.

The options available to Gwen are discussed, and an ultrasound is conducted. In its aftermath, Gwen decides to forgo the abortion and instead raise the child on her own – though Chad (Billy Flynn) insists that he will provide parental support.

Financial Concerns

After learning that his mother-in-law is an incredibly wealthy woman, Xander (Paul Telfer) conspires to bilk her out of a small fortune – and he happily agrees to cut Chanel (Precious Way) in on the scheme…as long as she plays ball.

The couple’s initial demand of $10 million is dismissed outright, and Paulina (Jackée Harry) eventually negotiates a settlement of $100,000. However, a disillusioned Chanel inadvertently outs the fact that she and Xander intended to split the profits.

What’s In A Name

Tripp (Lucas Adams) shares a fraught moment with Allie (Lindsay Arnold), and then he returns to Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla’s apartment and relays the event to Steve.

Kayla catches the young man off guard with a special gift – a new white med-student’s coat – and he in turn shares the news that he’s legally changed his last name to Johnson. Steve and Kayla are thrilled.
