Soap Opera Casting For The Week Of February 07, 2022
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
The Young and the Restless
Richard Burgi has wrapped up his run as Ashland Locke on The Young and the Restless. The actor debuted as the ruthless businessman in March of 2021.
Taking over the pivotal role will be Guiding Light veteran Robert Newman (ex-Josh Newman). Look for the daytime vet to make his debut on the soap opera on Wednesday, February 9.
Beth Maitland took to Instagram to report that she’s back at work at Y&R along with a photo of the show’s CBS studio complex. Expect Traci Abbott to pop back into Genoa City again soon.
General Hospital
Over at General Hospital, Kelly Monaco recently took a break from the soap and her role as Sam McCall. However, her character will remain on the canvas.
Lindsay Hartley, remembered as Theresa on Passions and Arianna on Days of our Lives, stepped into the role of Sam last week and will continue for a few episodes. Hartley previously took over for Monaco in August of 2020.
Monaco fans needn’t fret. The actress is already back at the studio filming the soap opera.
On the GH exit front, Jane Elliot wrapped up her short guest spot as Tracy Quartermaine. Ned’s mother (Wally Kurth) has returned back home to Amsterdam.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Last, but not least, Cassandra Creech, who’s been stirring up trouble as Paris’ (Diamond White) meddling mother, Dr. Grace Buckingham, is back on the scene. She airs again on Monday, February 7.
