The Days of our Lives recaps for May 17-21, 2021, features Kristen’s mask-erade finally coming to an end, a series of shocking smooches, and another villainess learning the error of her ways.
Days of our Lives Recaps Highlight
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), disguised as Kate (Lauren Koslow), paid Xander (Paul Telfer) a visit and requested his help in eliminating Sami (Alison Sweeney), Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), and, possibly, the actual Kate. Xander balked at the idea.
The two are momentarily interrupted by a distraught Nicole (Arianne Zucker) who’s come to collect her wedding ring – which she carelessly left behind earlier that day. Kristen delighted in hearing that Nicole and Xander had engaged in a one-night stand, and she attempted to use that indiscretion as fodder for blackmail…but Xander wasn’t bothered in the least.
However, his tune changed when the Salem Inn’s manager attempted to oust him from the premises, and Kristen offered to pay his back rent…for services rendered.
Meanwhile, Sami and Lucas bickered over their predicament and her assumption that Nicole was unfaithful to Eric (Greg Vaughan). Their clash gradually gave way to a romantic clinch, and the couple wound up making love yet again.
Bad Rx
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) read Jack (Matthew Ashford) the riot act for inviting Gwen (Emily O’Brien) to stay at the Horton house. Afterward, Gwen confessed to lying about the role that Abigail (Marci Miller) played in her fall.
During a follow-up appointment with Dr. Snyder (Michael Lowry), Gwen received a sharp rebuke for failing to confess to her family that she miscarried prior to her second visit to the hospital.
Dr. Snyder then revealed that rather than report her dishonesty, he’s going to force Gwen into playing courier. When inspecting the goods that she’s expected to deliver, Gwen is shocked to learn they’re massive amounts of opioids.
Playing Catch Up
Allie (Lindsay Arnold) confided in Nicole her kisses with Chanel (Precious Way) and Tripp (Lucas Adams), while Chanel shared her own story with a supportive Lani (Sal Stowers)…. Nicole tracked Ava (Tamara Braun) down and tearfully recalled her affair with Xander.
Breaking The Bank
After trying, and failing, to find a way out of their prison, Sami and Lucas were pleased to see Xander’s familiar face – and then immediately gutted by his explanation for being there.
Sami offered to double whatever bounty Kristen placed on their heads, and after E.J. arranged for the funds to be deposited into his account, Xander acquiesced.
Blame Game
Jack tried to contact Abby and Chad (Billy Flynn) and relay Gwen’s confession, but his efforts were all in vain – his daughter had already left Salem. During a subsequent convo Chad admitted to his father-in-law that, despite his best efforts, he does blame Abby for Gwen’s miscarriage.
Deal or No Deal
Eli (Lamon Archey) tells Lani all about Kristen’s escape from Statesville and the laundry list of crimes that she’s committed since that time. By happenstance, Lani runs into Kristen while out on the town with the twins. Kristen is booked at the SPD, and she threatens Chloe’s safety should they attempt to send her back to prison.
Kiss And Make Up For Lost Time
Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) is left reeling after he receives signed divorce papers from Ciara (Victoria Konefal). He goes to Claire (Isabel Durant) for comfort, and she surprises them both by going in for a kiss.
Shawn (Brandon Beemer) outlined an audacious plan to Belle (Martha Madison) – convince Jan (Heather Lindell) that their marriage is over, lull her into a false sense of security, and get her to confess her role in Charlie’s (Mike Manning) murder.
The plot progresses swimmingly enough…until Dr. Snyder lets slip to Jan that Belle and Shawn are well aware of the fact that she awoke from a coma much earlier than initially assumed.
