Where’s Valerie? Does This Spencer Need a Major Story on General Hospital?

General Hospital is chock full of Corinthos family members these days, plus a couple of Jeromes, and a smattering of Quarter maines.
But, where are the Spencers? Anyone seen Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman). We presume she’s babysitting Wiley while Lucas (Ryan Carnes) is equally invisible. There’s Laura (Genie Francis) and Lulu (Emme Rylan) — and then there’s Valerie (Brytni Sarpy).
She’s a Spencer, too, and she was brought on with quite a bit of fanfare. She had an affair with Dante (Dominic Zamparonga), and then she…faded away. There was the spark of a story when Valerie kissed Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) to make Parker (Ashley Jones) jealous. And then she faded away again.
Until Kristina kissed her for real and she soon arrested Cam. And yes, then she faded away again.
Does Valerie need a front burner story? Roughly 20,000 fans are almost evenly split on the subject!
Give Her More
The polls are rarely this close, but a little over 50% of you want to see more Valerie, especially if the promised story with Kristina develops.
As of right now, neither woman is particularly interesting on her own. Now, we’re not saying a woman has no value unless she’s in a relationship. But a soap character has no value unless they are making you wonder, “What will happen next?”
And, right now, the only question viewers are asking about Valerie is, “Is she still on the show?” That’s not good for anyone.
Give Her Less
And then there’s the little more than 49% of the audience that does not need to see more Valerie, with Kristina, or on her own.
Maybe you’re still made about the affair with Dante. Maybe you’re mad that Valerie’s mother, Pat, was never mentioned by Luke or Bobbie until it was time for that awful split personality story.
Or, maybe you just have other characters you’d rather be watching. If the Spencer’s are going to take center stage again, you’d prefer Laura, Lulu, Bobbie, and Lucas, thanks.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
