Days of our Lives Spoilers Speculation: Could Chad Still Be Brainwashed?

On Days of our Lives, Chad spent quite a few weeks under the spell of his evil Daddy, Stefano. Whose consciousness was hanging out in Steve’s body, thanks to Dr. Rolf (Will Utay).

Days of our Lives Spoilers Spec

Now, Stefano has supposedly been exorcised from Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) head, and Chad (Billy Flynn) is back to his happy-go-lucky self. Or is he?

Disturbing Signs

Chad has been neither happy nor go lucky lately. Sure, he’s got a lot going on. There’s Gabi (Camila Banus) to remind that she’s scum, Abigail (Kate Mansi) to send off for mental treatment, and those invisible children don’t turn invisible by themselves!

He’s been downright grim. Focused. Serious. Menacing. DiMera like… If Stefano isn’t living in Steve’s head, could he have taken up residence… in Chad’s?

Fruit Of A Poisonous Tree

If Chad either IS Stefano, or he’s still being controlled by his father – or one of Stefano’s minions – then it would make sense he’d get rid of Abigail. Abigail would be the first one to sense that something is wrong, and she might figure out what’s going on.

(Yes, Abigail is a bubble-head, but even a broken clock is right twice a day, and she did get to the bottom of Gina pretending to be Hope [Kristin Alfonso], so maybe this is the one thing she’s good at.)

To that end, it gives Chad a motive to poison Abigail, make her feel out of control, and get her to agree to go away, without him having to seemingly lift a finger. As an added bonus, he can frame Gabi for the crime, so she’s also sent away, and the empire is, once again, in Chad – and Stefano’s – control.

They can rule the galaxy as father and son. Who cares if Chad didn’t exactly have much say in the matter?

Soap Star News: Daytime Vet Brandon Barash In Brand-New Project

While we can still see Brandon Barash almost daily on Days of Our Lives in new episodes, we have also seen him of late on General Hospital classics as Johnny Zacchara. And now you can see him in a new short film called The Mourning Hour.

Brandon Barash In Short Film

The film is available on The Reel Women‘s Network and takes place in the 1950s telling the story of a woman named Virginia Bakely who embarks on a reawakening journey when she learns of the death of her husband, played by Barash. The Mourning Hour was written by Shevaun Kastl, who also plays Virginia.

According to Soap Opera News, Barash had this to say about the film: “I love supporting Independent Films. You really get to get in there and explore these characters and these relationships from all sides. Shevaun wrote a great script. The story that came out of her soul was beautifully poignant.”

The film has another soap connection as The Reel Women’s Network is a streaming service partly created by soap vet Crystal Chappell who played popular characters on both Days of Our Lives and Guiding Light and has her own digital soap, Venice: The Series.

Over at Days of Our Lives, it looks like Barash is playing a brand-new character and not Stefan O. DiMera. He is indeed Jake Lambert, brash auto mechanic. However, he is also Stefan’s identical twin who Vivian (Louise Sorel) never knew about. Just like Stefan, Ivan (Ivan G’Vera) made the decision to give Jake away at birth.

With this news, we expect Vivian to latch onto Jake the way she did Stefan, but where does this leave Gabi (Camila Banus), who was convinced this man was her dearly departed husband?

Days of our Lives Spoilers: The Night Before The Cin-Ful Wedding

Days of our Lives spoilers for Friday, July 17, 2020, reveal a night to remember for Ben and Ciara. It’s the evening before the big day and their small group of friends (and at least one frenemy) give them an evening they will never forget.

Days of our Lives Spoilers Highlights

It’s party time for the last bachelor and bachelorette in town. Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) hitting the town with Will (Chandler Massey) for a night of drinking at a local hot spot. It wasn’t too long ago Ben murdered Will but hey, this is Salem and after being cellmates they’re besties now and Will’s letting bygones be bygones.

Girl’s Night!

As for Ciara (Victoria Konefal), she’s celebrating with her only two friends, Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) and Allie (Lindsay Arnold). Will there be drinking and dancing with the mama-to-be in tow? Surely, Claire will find some sort of trouble. This would be a good day to incapacitate the bride.

Ciara Has A Big Ask

In the midst of all the fun, Ciara sits Rafe (Galen Gering) down and asks for a very important question. Does she want him to walk her down the aisle? Rafe is the closest thing she has to a dad since Bo’s death and it would be quite a high honor.

Sami’s Goes After Rafe

Spoilers show Ciara won’t be the only one talking to Rafe. He has a run-in with Sami (Alison Sweeney) that will be far less pleasant. She demands he turn down the adoption offer and stay far away from her daughter! There is no way she’s going to let him raise her grandchild and wants that baby to stay in the family.

Will Rafe take her ramblings into consideration? The last thing he wants is to be on Sami’s bad side but this is about what Allie wants, not what Sami wants. The control freak may not get her way this time. Sami’s met her match in Allie and Rafe may be much the same. He loved Sami once but has no obligation to follow her lead now.

Days of our Lives News: Behind The Scenes At The Sami-Nicole Cake Fight

It was a memorable day for Nicole and Eric on Days of our Lives yesterday, as the couple exchanged vows and finally became man and wife.  Although the service itself went smoothly, what followed after the “I do’s” was something both would like to forget.

Some Things Never Change On Days of our Lives

Sami made a shocking entrance and attacked Nicole, with both falling into the cake and throwing pastry at one another as Eric tried to get between his twin and new wife.

Arianne Zucker took to her Instagram to relive the event with fans and posted about how she enjoyed filming the scenes with Alison Sweeney and Greg Vaughan.

“I don’t know if we could have any more fun together,” Zucker wrote. “ [Ali and Greg] are just too much fun to play with! Thank you @nbcdays & @carlivatiron for a hilarious day!”

The actress also posted a trio of photos from filming, including one of Sweeney smearing cake in her face, and another of an off-camera moment when the two friends embraced. The third was a lovely photo of Vaughan and Zucker in full wedding gear.

Sweeney also marked the occasion on her Instagram posting a photo of the two of them covered with cake. “Sami interrupts a wedding … AND there’s a food fight?! Just another Wednesday for Sami,” the actress wrote.

Though fans knew Sweeney would be back in Salem soon, and many may have expected her to make her presence known at the wedding, few probably thought the situation would get this “messy.”

Once Sami learned that her daughter Allie (Lindsay Arnold) was pregnant, it really set Hurricane Sami off, and she definitely doesn’t want her teen anywhere near who she calls a “baby-stealing ex-porn star.”

Zucker and Sweeney have always had good chemistry and it’s probably a safe bet that this won’t be the last run-in between their two characters during Sweeney’s stay.

Days of our Lives News: Why Kristian Alfonso REALLY Left Hope Behind

Kristian Alfonso stunned the soap world when she announced that she would not be returning to Days of Our Lives in September when the show goes back into production. Now, the Emmy-nominated star is speaking out on why she opted to vacate Salem after a 37-year run as the beloved Hope Williams Brady.

Kristian Alfonso Tells Her Story

The actress appeared on Entertainment Tonight in a segment with correspondent Matt Cohen (ex-Griffin, General Hospital) to talk about why she decided to say goodbye to Hope.

Alfonso shares that DAYS executive producer Ken Corday approached her about giving the character of Hope a hiatus for approximately five months. She would then return to the story canvas and be thrust into a new storyline with a Navy SEAL.

“[It] was as if Ken had opened that door for me just a little bit and I opened it all the way and made the decision to depart DAYS,” Alfonso told ET. “So many milestones in my life happened on that show and I have so many incredible memories.

“I thought to myself, you know what, it’s time for a change and it was the perfect moment to make that decision,” she says. “I was taken aback when [Ken] said that they wanted…to take me off camera…It was not something that ever been been discussed but that’s what it was…I just thought…it’s time to write a new chapter.”

Alfonso, who debuted on DAYS in 1983, says that the coronavirus pandemic also played a role in helping her make up her mind. “COVID,” she says, has “really made me pause and think about life and to really appreciate our health every single day and never take it for granted and that was part of my decision also.”

What’s next for the actress? She says she’s been enjoying “being home and doing nothing.” She likes cooking and spending time with family and friends. She adds that she misses her jewelry line, Hope, Faith, and Miracles, which she sold back in 2016 so, perhaps she’ll embark on a similar venture.

Alfonso added that she’s not interested in dropping in and out of Salem like other actors and characters do. She shared that Corday told her that the role of Hope would not be recast (how could it be?) but she realizes that’s not her call to make.

Is acting either on another daytime serial or in another medium in her future? “I don’t know if I will continue in this business,” she says, “but possibly. I have been getting calls and some interest on some projects, so we’ll see.”

Veteran DAYS fans recall that Alfonso left the show only to return twice before. She first departed daytime in 1987, returning for another brief stint in 1990, and then came back full-time to the show in 1994. Might there be a third time? ET’s Cohen seems to think so. He ended his televised report on Alfonso by saying, “I know Kristian says she won’t return to DAYS, but it’s a huge honor in the soap world to be asked back so, I still think she will,” Cohen said with a smile.

Alfonso leaves grateful to her loyal fan base and is filled with gratitude for her experiences. “I would say I’m just a very lucky girl,” she says. The actress is set to air on DAYS through October.

She wakes up feeling sick to her stomach – but is it a stomach bug or something far more nefarious? – and he is suddenly overcome by visions of Jordan (Chrishell Stause).

While Marlena (Deidre Hall) manages to talk Ben off the proverbial ledge, Ciara confronts Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) and attempts to ascertain whether or not she is behind her sudden illness.

Claire strenuously denies the charge, but Ciara (deciding that it is better to be safe than be sorry) relieves her of her maid of honor duties anyway. Next, she heads to the doctor whose diagnosis puts the wedding ceremony in jeopardy. This wedding sounds ominous already…

Wedding Day Disaster

But, luckily, true love prevails. Ciara is able to overcome what ails her, make her way down the aisle – on the arm of former stepfather Rafe (Galen Gering) – and exchange vows with her intended in front of family and friends – including Gabi (Camila Banus) and her surprise date, Jake (Brandon Barash).

But while the service progresses, a bomb planted inside the church continues to tick down and herald the end of the soon-to-be deemed Mr. and Mrs. Weston! Who would do such a thing?

When the offending item is eventually located, it’s Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) who helps save the day, and his heroics do not go unnoticed by Sarah (Linsey Godfrey).

In the aftermath of the narrowly avoided disaster, Allie (Lindsay Arnold) and Lani (Sal Stowers) are left fearing for the health of their unborn babies, Claire is left in the frame, and Jake and Gabi grow ever closer together.

DAYS Odds and Ends

Xander sets the record straight with Sarah, Rafe makes a decision about Allie’s offer, and an unexpected funeral stirs up mixed emotions. This sounds like one heck of a week.
