Days of Our Lives News: Jay Kenneth Johnson First Air Date Revealed

You can't keep a Kiriakis down, and Jay Kenneth Johnson will be bringing Philip's devious ways back to Days of Our Lives on August 18.

Welcome Back, Jay Kenneth Johnson

The news came in Daytime Confidential that Johnson will first start airing next month.  Johnson originally landed on the Salem front as Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Victor's (John Aniston) son, Philip, in 1999, and left the show in 2011.  Although Johnson left nine years ago, the part was briefly recast with former One Life to Live star John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex Balsom), who played the role from 2015-2016.

Fans last saw Johnson on the DOOL App last year when he appeared in the Last Blast Reunion web series.

It was also last year that Koslow posted a photo of Johnson on her Instagram, leading many fans to speculate that he would be coming back--so much so, that she took down the post within hours.

Philip's name also started recirculating around the Kiriakis household, so when it was announced that the character would be returning this summer, many fans saw it coming.

The last time Johnson was on, Philip was part of the young adult scene and was part of storylines with Belle, Nathan, and Chloe.  In fact he grew so to Chloe that she signed over the rights to her baby Parker to him, and he left Salem with the youngster.

When last we saw the character, Philip returned to join forces with cousin Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) to try and take down Victor (John Aniston).  He also was there to help Brady (Eric Martsolf) when Theresa (Jen Lilley) broke his heart and had a fling with old friend Belle (Martha Madison).  Before he left, Philip mended fences with Victor and agreed to try to work with Deimos at Titan.  He also reconnected with Chloe and some more baby drama.

It's an interesting time for Philip to be returning to Salem and don't be surprised if he quickly gets into some business dealings and finds himself with an old flame.
