Days of our Lives Icon Alison Sweeney Celebrates Her Birthday

Wherever Sami Brady goes, the drama is sure to follow…as so many Days of our Lives characters are painfully aware. But each and every return appearance is gladly welcomed by fans of her portrayer, Alison Sweeney – who has her own special milestone to celebrate.

Happy Birthday, Alison Sweeney!

And that’s because she was born on September 19, 1976, in Los Angeles, California, which means that this multi-talented woman is turning 45 years old today! Sweeney made her acting debut at the age of five in a commercial for Kodak cameras.

Subsequently, she appeared in episodes of Simon & Simon, St. Elsewhere, Webster, and Tales From the Dark

side. In 1987, she was hired to portray a younger version of Judi Evans’ character, Adrienne Johnson, on Days of our Lives.

Six years later, Sweeney rejoined the soap cast – but this time she was to take on the role of Samantha “Sami” Gene Brady. Sweeney remained at DAYS for the next 22 years, rarely straying from the front burner. The actress has made sporadic guest appearances since 2017.

Sweeney’s other acting credits include episodes of Family Man, Brand New Life, Bay State, Friends, American Dreams, Las Vegas, and Mercy, as well as the feature film The End of Innocence.

Sweeney joined the “Hallmark family” in 2013, and since that time she has appeared in over 14 movies made exclusively for that network. Two of them have been Christmas themed, and the bulk are representative of two uber-successful franchises: Murder She Baked (5 films) and Chronicle Mysteries (4 films).

Outside of her acting, Sweeney is known for hosting The Biggest Loser – a competition-based, weight loss program – authoring three novels, and directing numerous projects.

Sweeney has been married to David Sanov since July 8, 2000. Together the couple has welcomed two children: a son (born February 25, 2005) and a daughter (born January 12, 2009).

Soap Hub would like to wish Alison Sweeney a very happy birthday
