Soap Spoilers: August 2-6, 2021

Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers

The Young and the Restless

Victor plays Let’s Make a Deal, and Phyllis calls in reinforcements to help her expose Tara and Sally: both an old friend and the man she loves. Meanwhile, Mariah’s disappearance sends an ever larger ripple of fear through Genoa City, and Amanda contemplates revenge.

Friday, July 30:

Phyllis gets one big step closer to exposing Sally and Tara, Rey learns Sharon’s been talking to Adam, and Tara eavesdrops.

Sharon welcomes home Rey, whom you’ll recall was assigned to escort Chelsea to her mother’s place.

Chloe is now working with Adam at Newman Media, which is a situation we never really imagined coming to pass. Should the boss be worried that his new hire is strategizing with his ex, Chelsea? Well, of course he should! But given that it’s Adam we’re talking about, something tells us he might just manage to stay a step or two ahead of the women. Something else we never saw coming — the sexual tension in the office. Are Adam and Chloe on a sexual collision course more unlikely than any we’ve ever seen?!

When Phyllis chases down a lead, will it have to do with Sally… Tara… or both? And might it finally give the miffed mom what she needs to turn the tables and bring daughter Summer back to Genoa City? Or could her discovery set in motion the upcoming exit of Michael Mealor’s Kyle?

DVR alert! The Hallmark premiere of Mystery 101: Deadly History sends Amy and Travis to New York City to investigate a missing persons case — one that hits way too close to home.

Week of August 2:

Y&R Restless Rant, the hot topics are Stitch’s lie, Chloe and Adam’s possible hate sex, and the big love scene fails for Ashland/Victoria and Devon/Amanda. Plus, battling redheads bring sizzle to the snoozefest.

Monday, August 2:

Having pursued a lead, it’s now time for Phyllis to plot her next move. The best of the best, “Red” successfully pushed Tara and Sally’s buttons when she tricked them into an argument that she caught on video, and we expect an equally dramatic result from her latest scheme.

She tried! Young & Restless’ Michelle Stafford reveals home hair color fail with an endearingly off photo: “I know, I know…”

She’s already lost out on a second chance at romance with Jack, and once again, Sally must cover her tracks with the senior Abbott. Given that he no longer trusts her, will she be able to pull the wool over his eyes?

We can’t even imagine these two with anyone else at this point — or Young & Restless without this pairing! As their bittersweet journey continues, Victoria helps Ashland make a decision about his future. Fingers and toes crossed this will have to do with an experimental treatment that could cure his cancer.

Hunter King (Summer) finally breaks her silence: “They don’t know…”

Tuesday, August 3:

Endgame revealed?! Young & Restless’ swan song for Summer and Kyle may have been hinted at in a recent conversation.

When Victor prevents Adam from retaliating against Victoria, will the younger Newman relent and call them even? After all, it wasn’t that long ago that Adam put the brakes on Dad’s plan to go after Billy and Chancellor Communications.

Phyllis connects with an old friend, who we assume will be able to help in her quest to expose Tara and Sally. It could be Michael but in this case is more likely to be his brother, Kevin, who is a whiz at digging into phone records and such.

Having successfully dodged Phyllis’ bullets thus far, Tara finds herself under scrutiny once again when Jack and Kyle question her intentions. Will she manage to squirm out of yet another interrogation?

Wednesday, August 4:

Well, it’s about time! Days, nay weeks, after her daughter dropped out of sight whilst hugely pregnant, Sharon worries about Mariah’s disappearance. Will Mom be the one to get to the bottom of the mystery?

When Abby shares her fears with Devon, she may be concerned that Mariah’s done a runner with her baby on board. Will she be able to connect the dots and figure out that Stitch could be involved?

These two have been juggling work, kids and romance, but the relationship isn’t going stale as is proven by Lily’s ability to inspire Billy once again. But what will she spur him to do — and will it land him in hot water as usual?

Thursday, August 5:

As Amanda contemplates revenge against Sutton, will Devon convince her to turn the other cheek? Or will she even confide in the man she loves about her sinister thoughts?

When Summer makes an unexpected apology, we have to wonder if the cat is out of the bag about Sally and Tara’s scheme to run her out of Genoa City. Might she be feeling regret about not coming clean and seeking help to deal with the scammers before acquiescing to Tara’s demands?

Friday, August 6:

Victor surprises someone with a new business proposition, and we have to wonder if it will be Victoria. His recent move to protect her from an attack by Adam may signal that he’s ready to mend fences with his headstrong daughter.

Juicy! Phyllis has clearly brought Nick into the loop with regard to her suspicions about Tara and Sally, as together, they plan the ultimate take-down of the scheme team. Time to add another chapter to “Phick’s” tumultuous love story (retold here in photos).

When Kyle makes a bold move, will Tara’s house of cards finally come tumbling down? If so, what revelations will come to light? And what of Summer and Kyle’s doomed engagement? Might they actually get their “happily ever after” in Italy?

Tanner Novlan as Dr. John "Finn" Finnegan; Ted King as Jack Finnegan

The Bold and the Beautiful

Despite the revelation of Finn’s secret, he and Steffy move forward with plans for what has been dubbed “the wedding of the century.” Expect special requests, new faces, and learn what outcasts Quinn and Carter will get up to as the big day nears!

Friday, July 30:

Brooke has a warning for Eric, Quinn proves majorly distracting to Carter, and Finn’s dad frets about a secrets.

Carter walks a fine line between his agreement with Eric and his feelings for Quinn. Although since Carter just hooked up with her in the spoilers for Monday, we’re going to go out on a limb and guess that “walks a fine line” means “crosses a fine line.”

When Finn’s dad, Jack, surprises him and Steffy with a pre-wedding visit, Ted King (perhaps best known as the Alcazar twins on General Hospital) makes his debut in the role. Fun fact: Jaida King, who plays model Carmen in the same episode, is no relation to the soap vet.

DVR alert! The Hallmark premiere of Mystery 101: Deadly History sends Amy and Travis to New York City to investigate a missing person’s case — one that hits way too close to home…

Week of August 2:

Monday, August 2:

When Steffy learns a secret about Finn, it’s not as foreboding as the past we imagined he might be hiding from his betrothed. In fact, revealing a vulnerability might endear the handsome doctor to his bride-to-be all the more. Wait, is that even possible?

We expect well wishes and rejoicing all around when Finn and Steffy announce their impending wedding to their families. Perhaps even Liam will finally be able to embrace the idea of his first wife moving on and no longer waiting in the wings for his next flip or flop.

Tuesday, August 3:

Steffy puts aside her past rivalry with Hope and asks her to play a pivotal role in her nuptials. Will Hope agree to the unexpected request?

As her wedding day draws near, Steffy asks her grandfather to do something that will both please her and pay tribute to her late grandmother, Stephanie. But will he see fit to honor her request?

Wednesday, August 4:

Sigh. Swoon-worthy Finn just gets more perfect with each passing day. On this particular day, the would-be groom romances his bride on the eve of their wedding. Save something for the honeymoon, buddy! Or pace yourself by reviewing the highlights of #Sinn’s relationship thus far.

Outcasts Quinn and Carter find a sexy way to distract themselves from not being invited to the “wedding of the century.” Hmm… what could it be? Something tells us Carter will have a lot more fun with Quinn than he would have had officiating the ceremony!

Thursday, August 5:

Tensions rise when a mystery woman arrives at the Forrester mansion. How will her arrival impact the ceremony that is just about to begin?

Friday, August 6:

In front of friends and family, Steffy and Finn pledge themselves to one another, reciting personal vows and becoming husband and wife. Though everything’s coming up roses right now for the happy couple, we have to wonder if it’s the calm before the storm as all signs point to Steffy’s worst nightmare being realized thanks to a recent decision that may backfire spectacularly.

I guess the question of the week is: Is Peter (Wes Ramsey) really dead? Also pictured--Michael Easton as Dr. Hamilton "Finn" Finn; Rebecca Herbst as Elizabeth "Liz" Webber Baldwin

General Hospital

Dante gets some advice from a woman who knows him well, Ava gives someone a second chance, Jordan wonders if her marriage is truly over and Anna finds herself discussing Peter with, of all people, Obrecht!

Week of July 26:

Monday, July 26:

Liz confesses all to Jason, Finn takes Anna to Peter’s body, and Shawn and Sam ask Jax for help.

Elizabeth was there to help Sam deal with the news of Jason and Carly’s engagement. But what causes Liz to wind up in a confrontation with Jason?

Anna’s been digging for the truth about Peter and his disappearance. When she goes to Finn with her latest suspicions, he confirms what she’s been thinking is true!

It’s visitor’s day at the prison, and Nikolas swings by the see his aunt, Alexis.

Shawn has questions about Hayden’s disappearance, but will Jax provide the answers he’s been seeking?

Britt and Terry are both hoping to be named Chief of Staff at General Hospital. Today, Monica will give one of them the good news… and disappoint the other.

Tuesday, July 27:

Peter’s body is missing from the freezer, Stella takes action on Jordan’s behalf, and Curtis makes Shawn an offer.

In need of someone to confide in, Elizabeth turns to her former father-in-law, Scott. (Anyone else willing to bet it’s not a coincidence that he’s an attorney?)

The Metro Court pool is the place to be these days, so it’s not surprising that it’s also where Shawn and Curtis wind up reconnecting. Meanwhile, Trina wants to be happy for her mom… but can she actually let herself be supportive?

Josslyn has news she is anxious to tell her mom… but Spencer manages to ruin her attempt at doing so.

Along with a gorgeous new family portrait, Steve Burton reveals what’s left him feeling ‘recharged’ and ready for action!

Wednesday, July 28:

Dante discovers blood in the GH basement, Portia and Curtis fight about keeping secrets from Trina, and Sasha offers Gladys a job at Deception.

With Peter’s body missing, the big question on every viewer’s mind: Is he dead or alive?

Carly opens up to Laura about her grief over the still-fresh “loss” of Sonny.

Brando has a vision regarding his future. When he shares it with Sasha, will they be on the same page? Meanwhile, his mom, Gladys, realizes she’s going to have to make a few changes where her life in Port Charles is concerned.

Starting this weekend: Soapy fan favorites team up for round two of Hallmark’s Summer Nights’ new movie premieres — including a much-anticipated romantic sequel!

Thursday, July 29:

Valentin realizes Peter could be alive, Elizabeth urgently calls Nikolas about Hayden, and Spencer catches his father with Ava.

What puts Dante and Anna on opposite sides of their confrontation?

Olivia loves nothing more than dispensing advice, so she’s happy to offer some to Brook Lynn.

Given his involvement in what went down during Hayden’s final days in Port Charles, it’s understandable that Nikolas bristles when he finds out Sam is trying to track down his former wife’s shooter. Meanwhile, Trina suggests that Spencer should throw a party at Wyndemere. (Clearly, she’s way too young to remember some of the past fetes held there… perhaps she should Google the words “Bacchanalia Ball.”)

Friday, July 30:

Austin spies Chase standing, Elizabeth confronts Nikolas about Hayden, and Willow gets a surprise.

It’s getting harder and harder for Michael and Willow to keep their relationship under wraps. How long before their secret blows up in their face? Meanwhile, Chase continues to push himself in the hopes of getting his life back on track.

Brook Lynn can’t help being wary of Austin, the newest offshoot of the Quartermaine clan.

When Spencer attempts to manipulate Ava, will he be successful or might he have met his match?

Shawn is more determined than ever to find out the truth about who shot Hayden.

Mystery solved: Wes Ramsey reveals where he’s been hiding while Port Charles hunts down Peter!

DVR alert! The Hallmark premiere of Mystery 101: Deadly History sends Amy and Travis to New York City to investigate a missing person’s case — one that hits way too close to home…

Week of August 2:

Monday, August 2:

As situations around her spiral out of her control, an overwhelmed Jordan feels helpless. Meanwhile, Stella has a few things she wants Portia to hear and is going to make sure she hears them!

Feeling herself continuing to be drawn in two directions, Nina can’t help but feel guilty. But will she eventually feel guilty enough to reveal what she knows about the not-actually-dead Sonny?

Michael is there when Willow is in need of comforting. What we want to know is who’ll be there when Chase finds out what’s going on in his marriage, because he sure as heck will need some comforting! Speaking of whom, Austin is right there by Chase’s side to cheer his progress. Could the no-longer-dying detective be back on his feet (literally) sooner than anyone imagined?

Tuesday, August 3:

Although yesterday, Austin was there to encourage Chase, today the new doctor in town is issuing warnings to his patient.

Something tells us Nina’s guilt won’t exactly be assuaged when she takes a video call from Wiley. (Might “Mike” catch a glimpse of his grandchild during that call? And if so, will he recognize the boy?)

As Joss is being teased about her relationship, Trina is dealing with feels of betrayal. But whom does she think stabbed her in the proverbial back?

Jordan and Curtis might not be quite as over as we thought. When Jordan asks her estranged husband to fight for their marriage, will he be willing to give it the old college try?

Wednesday, August 4:

Their lives at a potential crossroads, Trina and Portia sit down for a long talk. Meanwhile, Stella has to make a confession to Curtis.

Alexis suspects that Harmony has ulterior motives for her actions. (And given that we’re talking about Harmony, it seems pretty likely the jailed legal eagle is right!)

Brook Lynn may be keeping a major secret from Valentin, but she still can’t help questioning his motives.

Carly is in for a heck of a shock when she realizes that Monica — Monica! — is in her corner.

Thursday, August 5:

Jax once again finds himself furious at the fact that Carly is continuing to put their daughter, Josslyn, in danger. But is there anything he can do to prevent it?

It wasn’t that long ago that Cameron was telling anyone who’d listen what a horrible person Jason is. But they’ve clearly patched things up, because today, the young man will be getting boxing pointers from Elizabeth’s ex! Later, Curtis takes time to say “thank you” to Cameron.

What causes TJ’s emotions to get the better of him while on duty at the hospital? Elsewhere in the facility, Terry swallows her pride and tries to make nice with Britt.

Friday, August 6:

Sam and Nikolas visit Alexis. The big question is whether they’re presenting a united front or each is there on their own business.

We all know it’s not easy for someone with a record to find employment once out of jail. But it could be Shawn’s lucky day when Ava offers him a job.

Jax and Carly continue to butt heads over their daughter’s future… as in whether Carly’s decisions are putting Josslyn’s life on the line!

Anna and Obrecht have a long, complicated history… which should make it fascinating when the two of them sit down to discuss Peter!

Lulu’s been in a coma for a very long time, and Dante’s been getting closer to Sam. Could that be the topic of discussion when his former mother-in-law Laura offers him some advice?

Will it be a #Cin reunion (Robert Scott Wilson/Victoria Konefal) when Days of Our Lives returns after the Summer Olympic Games?

Soap Opera Favorite Linsey Godfrey Celebrates Her Birthday

We still miss Days of our Lives’ Dr. Sarah Horton…who has been sequestered on that DiMera island without anyone knowing she was sent there by Kristen DiMera. Luckily, things are a lot better for her portrayer, Linsey Godfrey.

Happy Birthday, Linsey Godfrey!

And that’s because she was born on July 25, 1988, in Bartow, Florida, which means that this talented young actress is turning 33 years old today! Godfrey’s interest in acting developed during her freshman year of high school and was solidified once she landed a talent manager who had been impressed with the skills she displayed at a state theater competition

Godfrey relocated to Los Angeles where she booked guest roles on TV programs, including One Tree Hill, Surface, NCIS, Cold Case. Sadly, Godfrey had to briefly retire from performing in order to battle Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Once the cancer was declared to be in remission, Godfrey returned to acting in earnest and made sure to get her career restarted. Between 2010 and 2011, she appeared in episodes of The Suite Life on Deck, CSI: Miami and Wizards of Waverly Place, as well as the TV movie Jack’s Family Adventure.

Godfrey joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in the spring of 2012 and made her daytime debut on March 28 of that year. She remained in the role of Caroline Spencer until October 31, 2016. She subsequently reprised the part – on a recurring basis – from December 19, 2016, to March 19, 2018. She went on to play Days of our Lives’ neurotic Dr. Sarah Horton on October 26, 2018. BB subsequently killed off Caroline — off-screen — but one day we may find out what really happened if Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) is lying.

Soap Hub would like to wish Linsey Godfrey a very happy birthday

Soap Hub Performer of the Week for DAYS: Arianne Zucker

Over three glorious episodes, actress Arianne Zucker – the recipient of Soap Hub’s Performer of the Week award for Days of our Lives – evoked a gamut of emotions from her devoted audience. We despised her character for breaking Eric Brady’s heart, and yet we wept for, and with her; and boy did we cheered her on as she stuck the proverbial knife into her rival’s back.

Arianne Zucker – Performer of the Week

Nicole Walker Brady spent the early part of her evening at the Brady Pub wrapped in the arms of her beloved husband, whose praises she sung – but after Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) maliciously maligned her character, Nicole was forced to admit – using only three incredibly powerful words – “I’m so sorry” – that she’d betrayed her husband.

Zucker afforded Nicole a moment of unabashed grief, then it was time to ready herself for battle with her meddlesome sister-in-law – and when Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) dared lace her venomous tirade with biblical scripture, Nicole pointedly recited a favorite of her own: “Let she who is without sin, cast the first stone.”

Nicole’s subsequent discourse with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), though certainly volatile, was a measured exercise in restraint. No histrionics here; just a woman thoroughly conscious of her trespass – “I degraded myself with a man who abused me.”

She was desperate to get her better half to recognize his own – YOU chose to spend the first year of our marriage, 8,000 miles away from me. Our home, and our family, and our relationship was spent on social media, and months went by where we didn’t even get to touch.”

When it all was said and done, the couple had decided to part ways –  permanently. He’d return to his missionary work; she’d remain behind with her daughter in the apartment they never really got to share.

Morning came, as did the self-pity; but opportunity soon came a-knocking. Nicole’s step-son, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson), had in his possession a letter, penned by Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), which contained a blow by blow of Sami’s affair with her ex-husband Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo).

Off to EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), Nicole ran. He wasn’t pleasantly surprised to see her, but he was even less pleased by what he was presented with…

DAYS Star Bryan Dattilo Speaks About Lucas’s Return

Fan-favorite Bryan Dattilo has been back on contract at Days of our Lives as Lucas Horton for a while now and fans are thrilled. A while back, the actor took part in a press junket to talk about what it’s like to be back on the show! Soap Hub was on the scene to get his thoughts.

DAYS Bryan Dattilo Talks Lucas

It’s great that you and Alison Sweeney (Sami) are back full-time! What are you looking forward to?
Bryan Dattilo:
(Wryly) A lot of work and a lot of checks would be great, too! I can’t wait to have a lot of lines to study. Lucas has been on the sidelines [in the past]. I used to play college baseball and there’s that feeling when you’re watching the game from the sidelines because you’ve been injured. Your feeling is ‘When I get back in the game, I’m going to do this and I’m doing to do that!’ That’s how I feel right now.

How did your coming back to the show come about?
It came out of leftfield and was a quick conversation. They called me and asked if I wanted to come back and I said yes! I feel like there were some absences in the storyline. Lucas’s daughter, Allie [Lindsay Arnold], [had] been going through so much and at the beginning, Lucas wasn’t there for her. I was glad they called.

How did you feel about Another World stars Linda Dano (ex-Felicia) and Jackée Harry (ex-Lily) joining DAYS?
Lucas and Vivian [Linda Dano] used to run into each other all the time. I’ve always been a huge fan of Linda’s. I’ve always respected her as an actress. And Jackée? Come on! I’m old school. Occasionally, we have people on the show who trip me out. She’s one of them. Morgan Fairchild [ex-Anjelica] was one, too.

Does Lucas have a job these days?
He used to be involved with stories at Titan and [Countess] Wilhelmina, cutting deals [with people]. I’m not sure what he’s doing now, but I think it’d be cool if he got a chance to work with Philip [Jay Johnson].

Lucas and Sami have never been a traditional couple – how would you describe their relationship?
I think Lucas has looked at Sami as the love of his life. Sami may have had her eye somewhere else. It was honest for Lucas when he fell in love with her, but maybe they had too much of a ‘real’ relationship rather than the fairytale romance she might have been looking for. I think they have a true love. Theirs is found in the more comfortable moments of life – not the ones that take you into complete bliss. Theirs is more of an honest relationship. [Wryly] As Sami grows older and wiser, she’ll see the error of her ways and she’ll crawl back to him. Remember – they’ve been known to break beds!

On a personal note, what’s been something good that’s happened to you in 2020?
I’m in a room in my house now that used to belong to my son [Gabe]. He moved out! I love my son to death! I couldn’t ask for a better son, but we butted heads a lot between the ages [he was] 13 to 20. He met a girl and moved out [he has since had a baby, making Dattilo a grandfather!]. So, I get to have his room. I bought a piano for the corner and I have a dartboard in here, too. I took over his room!

A Critic’s Review of Days of our Lives: Everything Old Is New Again?

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review

Everything old is new again – but with a twist. And it’s the twist that we appreciate the most.

Rather than a complete redux like Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) presenting Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) with red shoes, or Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) presenting a crying Judi Evans (formerly sweet and innocent Adrienne Johnson, now overly sensitive firecracker Bonnie Lockhart) a hankie, Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) kidnapping of true love Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) merely smacked of Bo Brady’s similar abduction of Fancy Face – though the replacing of the motorcycle with a limousine did invoke memories of The Golden Girls Stanley Zbornak.

EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) learning about his wife’s affair and then continuing to act as if nothing inappropriate has been learned comes dangerously close to mirroring how Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) lulled him into a false sense of security when she uncovered his affair with Abigail Deveraux, but we’ll have to wait – exactly two weeks – to see how this particular tale will play out. Here’s hoping there are a few twists and turns that will leave us feeling we’ve watched an original storyline play out.

Further DAYS Musings

* Boy, that church/chapel hosting Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) and Ciara’s wedding sure was sparsely attended, huh? Where the heck were Brandon, Cameron, and Celeste? And why was EJ planning on giving the ceremony a miss? Isn’t he all about family?

* The budding friendship between Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) has been a thing of beauty.

* And speaking of MIA Salemites, where art thou Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun)? Isn’t it strange that Nicole Walker Brady (Arianne Zucker) didn’t turn to either one of them for comfort in the aftermath of her marriage breaking up?

* Kudos aplenty to Zucker and Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady) for their transcendent work on Monday and Tuesday’s Days of our Lives program.

* Is Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) contrition sincere? We think so. But only time will tell if the people closest to her will ever be able to forgive her her selfish trespass.

* What will Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) do with his windfall first? Perhaps move out of the Horton House and into far more suitable digs?

* On the subject of houses, have Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) always been living in Hope Brady’s (Kristen Alfonso) house? We could have sworn that their dwelling and hers were two separate, but similarly designed abodes.

And was anybody else left flabbergasted by Shawn’s decision to actually order Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) out of said house rather than his petulant little sister on Days of our Lives?

DAYS Spoilers Spec: What Sami Will Do Now That Her Secret Is Out

DAYS spoilers tease Sami Brady DiMera thought she was home free when Lucas Horton promised to never tell her husband, EJ Dimera, about their affair. But she wasn’t counting on Nicole Walker Brady spilling the beans, instead. The gall!

DAYS Spoilers Spec

All Sami (Alison Sweeney) did was pay off Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) to drop the bombshell that he and Nicole Walker Brady (Arianne Zucker) slept together – at Nicole and Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) anniversary party, and Nicole strikes back at Sami – with no provocation whatsoever! What almost 5,000 voters speculate Sami will do next:

DAYS: Change Partners and Dance

Exactly half of you, 50%, are cheering for Sami to take advantage of this opportunity to divorce EJ and reunite with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) for good. He’s obviously the one she prefers these days. And he is obviously the one she should have been with all along.

DAYS Spoilers: Fight Song

A smaller 28% of the audience took the opposite track: Sami should fight for her marriage. EJ knows he pushed Sami away during his recovery, so he knows her straying was partially his fault. He should forgive and forget. And Sami should make him do so.

Days of our Lives Spoilers: Next Act

Forget both those losers, 17% suggest. You’ve ping-ponged back and forth between these two guys for literally decades. Neither one can keep you happy for long. Accept that and move on to a man who can. Find somebody new – and worthy of you!

DOOL: Get Blondie

The men are of no importance here, a last-place 5% advise Sami. The most important goal to achieve here is to make Nicole as miserable as possible for as long as possible. All you did was blow up her life, and she retaliated by doing the same. Somebody clearly didn’t learn their lesson. Which means Sami needs to keep pounding and pounding on Nicole until she can no longer get back up from the mat to strike back.

Lost In the Spin Cycle: Proposed Days of our Lives Spinoffs

Daytime serial spinoffs are a very tricky business, even for soaps as popular as Days of our Lives. Below is a concise list of all the proposed sister shows – which would have featured a swath of popular Salemites – that executives failed to give the green light.

Proposed Days of our Lives Spinoffs

The Doug and Julie Show/The Don and Marlena Show/The Roman and Marlena Show/The Mickey and Maggie Show

These lovers-centric sequels never made it past the pitch stage – no doubt due to fears that divesting DAYS of some of its most popular pairings might have adverse effects on ratings. Of special note, the latter proposal would have marked daytime’s first “rural set” soap opera.

Keeping Up with the Joneses/Sunny-Side Up/Calliope

While there may have been some questions regarding this project’s title, its purpose was certainly clear: spotlight beloved comedic duo Eugene Bradford and Calliope Jones Bradford.

Billed as a “comedic soap,” this Sheri Anderson-helmed serial would have seen the couple transplanted from their familiar Midwest surroundings to Sunnyside, Queens, the blue-collar New York neighborhood from which Calliope hailed. Her family, consisting of a dentist father, two sisters, and a grandmother who toiled as a beautician, would have rounded out the cast of players.

Pacific Lives

Had NBC ordered this skein to series, it may have very well served as Ken Corday’s Magnus opus. Rather than simply borrow popular DAYS characters, Pacific Lives, set in the Pacific Rim from Hawaii to Japan, would have made stars out of several rarely seen, barely mentioned Horton family members like Tom Jr. (who’d bid Salem adieu in 1979), his daughter Sandy, and siblings, Bill and Marie.

Manhattan Lives (Working Title: Body & Soul)

One of the many perks included in Deidre Hall’s 1991 contract was the opportunity to develop, and executive produce, a series all her own for NBC. Manhattan Lives would have been set in the eponymous New York City borough, where Dr. Marlena Evans would relocate her psychiatric practice. Several beloved characters from DAYS, including Tony and Anna DiMera would have been featured as well.

Marlena would have been joined by step-daughter Carrie Brady, she would gain a vivacious and outgoing gal-pal (the aptly named P. T. Barnum), and she would find herself drawn to a wealthy Donald Trump-esque tycoon and his son.

Which one of these spinoffs would you have most liked to have seen?

Days of our Lives Photos Tribute To Gabi Hernandez and Jake DiMera

The Tokyo Olympics are taking over NBC for the next two weeks but that’s no reason to not get your Days of our Lives fix. Today, we’re taking a look back at Gabi Hernandez and Jake DiMera’s short but powerful love story.

The Best of Gabi and Jake on DAYS

Poor Gabi (Camila Banus) lost the love of her life when Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) died. She was in a world of hurt and sought revenge in the wildest of ways – using Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) bionic heart to control Lani and make her suffer for having shot him. Little did she know there was a man out there who was about to fill that hole in her heart in a strange twist she never saw coming.

There is nothing like running into your dead husband’s surprise twin to get your mojo running. While Gabi was convinced Jake was Stefan, it soon became clear this rough-around-the-edges mechanic was a long-forgotten son. Heck, the only one who knew about him was Ivan. Even mama Vivian Alamain was in the dark.

By the time Gabi realized this man was not HER man, she was already falling head over heels. She loved him anyway and wanted him all to herself. That was not an easy feat, though. She had a mob and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) standing in her way. Well, those folks were tough but Gabi was tougher, and eventually, true love prevailed.

Of course, that was not the end of this couple’s drama. A tragic and dangerous turn of events had the Hernandez family running to Mexico to hide from the cartel. This tore Gabi away from Jake and left him to his own devices. Not one to stay single long, Jake eventually found himself in Kate Robert’s (Lauren Koslow) bed.

Jake and Kate could have had it all but Gabi came back and interrupted the scene. She won back Jake’s heart despite Kate feigning blindness and helping kick him out of the family business. Let the haters hate and do their worst, Gabi and Jake aren’t going to allow angry exes or elusive jobs to stand between them.

Jake and Gabi have faced it all and come back stronger than ever. We’re sure it’s not going to be smooth sailing and we can’t wait to see what scheme, scandal, or scam they tackle next.

Days of our Lives Star Eric Martsolf Celebrates His Birthday

Days of our Lives’ Brady Black has finally ended his doomed love affair with Kristen Dimera and is looking to live a happy and safe life instead. A celebration is in order for him and the same is true for actor Eric Martsolf.

Happy Birthday, Eric Martsolf

And that’s because he was born on July 27, 1971, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which means that this multi-talented performer is turning 50 years old today! He worked as a professional model, singer, and dancer, and still Martsolf found the time to graduate from Dickinson College with a degree in Political Science.

In 2001, the actor appeared in the film The Cheater. One year later, he joined the cast of NBC’s Passions. There he played Ethan Winthrop for the remainder of the soap’s life – which ended on August 7, 2008.

In November of that same year, Martsolf debuted on Days of our Lives and assumed the part of Brady Black – which had previously been played by Kyle Lowder. For his efforts, Martsolf was awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2014.

Martsolf’s other acting credits include episodes of Smallville (where he played Booster Gold), NCIS, Miss Behave (which also starred Patrika Darbo, Darin Brooks, and Jillian Clare – all former DAYS stars), and Extant, as well as the films Spanish Fly and Four Steps. He has also appeared in To The Beat! and To The Beat!: Back 2 School.

Martsolf has been married to Lisa Kouchak since October 10, 2003. The couple met while doing musical theater together and in 2006 added twin sons Mason Alan and Chase Evan to their family.

Soap Hub would like to wish Eric Martsolf a very happy birthday

DAYS Spoilers Spec: Chanel Will Deal With Allie This Way

In past DAYS spoilers, Chanel Dupree lamented to Eli Grant that Allie Horton keeps rejecting her romantic advances – despite having shared more than one kiss — and one time initiated by the other woman herself! Not only that, she made it sound like she had feelings for Chanel. But then she took Tripp Johnson to bed.

DAYS Spoilers Spec

Chanel (Raven Bowens) isn’t thrilled to be getting mixed messages from her BFF, but what’s a girl to do? Which is why over 2,000 viewers predict you know exactly how she’ll respond to the situation.

DOOL: Chanel Dupree Can Do Better

A majority 85% of the audience sees what Chanel can’t – or won’t. Which is that Allie (Lindsay Arnold) is too wishy-washy to know what she wants. Which means she is totally and utterly not worth Chanel’s tears – or her time. Plenty of fish in the sea, especially for a young woman who is open to any and all possibilities. Forget Allie, Chanel, and find someone who appreciates you for everything that you are.

DAYS Spoilers: All the Feels

A much smaller 12% of you point out that Chanel told Allie how she feels. There is nothing she can do beyond that. The worst thing Chanel could do is push. Does she not remember that Allie was raped, which resulted in Henry’s birth?

The last thing she’ll respond to is pressure, or being made to feel like she is being forced into anything. Chanel needs to sit back and wait. If it’s meant to be, it’ll happen. If it’s not, anything she does to make it will only backfire.

Days of our Lives Fight Club

Only 3% believe that Chanel should fight for Allie, which means tearing down Tripp  (Lucas Adams) at every opportunity and making it clear to Allie that she can do a lot better than her rapist’s brother. (She’s not exactly wrong there.)

Allie clearly has some feelings for Chanel, and even if she’s not ready to give in completely to them, that doesn’t mean that can’t change down the line. Look at how hard Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) is fighting for Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) – and take a lesson.

In case you are behind on Days of our Lives, which won’t be returning until August 9,

Days of our Lives Favorite Martha Madison Celebrates Her Birthday

There is a lot for Days of our Lives, Belle Black Brady, to celebrate, considering she’s back in Salem with her family and doing work for DiMera. Luckily, the same is true for actress Martha Madison.

Happy Birthday, Martha Madison!

And that’s because she was born on July 27, 1977, in Newport News, Virginia, which means that this talented performer is turning 44 years old today! Upon graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in psychology, Madison relocated to New York City and enrolled in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

After obtaining a small part in the film Kate & Leopold, Madison moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue an acting career in earnest. Roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Passions soon followed, and in August of 2004, Madison joined the cast of Days of our Lives and assumed the part of Belle Black.

Madison remained at the NBC soap until March 24, 2008, though she has been reprising the character – on an “as-needed basis” – since November 25, 2015. Subsequently, Madison appeared in episodes of The Singles Table, Without a Trace, Criminal Minds, and General Hospital (where she briefly subbed for actress Rebecca Herbst in the role of Elizabeth Webber, R.N.).

Madison’s other acting credits include guest spots in One Mississippi, Great News, and A Place Called Hollywood, as well as starring roles in The Bay, Winterthorne, and Ladies of the Lake. She was in the film To The Beat! and To The Beat!: Back 2 School.

Madison has been married to restaurateur A.J. Gilbert since August 25, 2007. Together the couple shares a daughter, Charley Elizabeth (born November 3, 2013). Madison previously hosted an afternoon, soap-centric talk show with former GH star Lilly Melgar.

Soap Hub would like to wish Martha Madison a very happy birthday

DAYS Spoilers Spec: Ciara Reacts This Way To Ben Kidnapping Her

It felt like the 1980s again reading DAYS spoilers! Once upon a time, Hope Williams was going to marry a sleazy lawyer, when true love Bo Brady drove in on his motorbike and kidnapped her right from the church – while a cigar-chewing bookie took Hope’s place under the bridal veil.

DAYS Spoilers Spec

Almost 40 years later, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) daughter, Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) was going to marry the much sweeter Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson), when true love Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) drove in on his motorbike and kidnapped her right from the church – while a prettier Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) took Ciara’s place under the bridal veil. We all know how Hope ended up feeling about her kidnapping. But what about Ciara? Almost 3,000 viewers speculate:

DOOL: Global Warming

She’ll get with the program, 78% of you predict. She’ll kick and scream at the beginning, but that will all be performative. Eventually, Ben will love his way back into her heart, the same way he did when they first got together back at the cabin. And then she’ll remember everything – or begin making new memories.

DAYS Spoilers: Love’s Labors Lost

She’ll claw his eyes out, another 16% counter. Ciara is not known for her ability to think rationally, or to stay calm, especially in situations that would benefit from it. She is going to go mental on Ben and stubbornly stay that way. Even – especially – if she starts to suspect he may have a point.

Days of our Lives: Twilight Terror

Only a last place 6% expect your Ciara to cower in fear. She acted that way when she woke up in the hospital and found a serial killer in her room, and she is likely still traumatized from the experience. Would you enjoy being kidnapped by a guy known for strangling multiple women and being taken away somewhere until you agree that you love him?

DAYS Spoilers Wild Spec: A Surprise Pregnancy Derails the Cin Reunion

Ben Weston wants the love of his life back and dreams of nothing but their wedded bliss that they’ve so far been denied. DAYS spoilers tease Ben and Ciara’s love will go through more twists and turns in the very near future, and we think we know what they are. If we’re right, this could change the entire course of their story.

DAYS Spoilers Wild Speculation

Picture this, Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) has her memories back and finally gets what all the hype about Ben — and their magical connection — was about. Yes, she does love him. She loves him more than anyone has ever loved another person. It’s the kind of love romance novels are written about. It’s pure bliss. Well, at least for a hot minute. Then, out of nowhere, Ciara gets a strange illness that only pops up in the morning and realizes her life is about to go off the rails.

Ciara Brady — A Pregnant Pause

While a baby with Ben would be perfection, we don’t think Ciara’s bundle of joy will be Ben’s at all. No, no, soap fans, this tot is a Carver and everyone knows it right from the get-go.

How will Ciara react to the baby news? It will be quite a confusing time. On one hand, babies are an absolute miracle. On the other, this is a piece of her life she isn’t sure she can share with Ben. He absolutely adores her but raising another man’s child could be a bit too much to ask. Sure, true love conquers all, but this could be a very hard sell.

Not only that but what about Theo Carver? Surely, he will want to be all-in with his little one. And, he may want to be by his baby mama’s side through it all. We can see him dialing up the heat and fighting hard for Ciara’s heart. Babies bond people and Theo will be swept up in those feelings for sure. After all, he’s already a great godfather to his nephew.

DOOL Spoilers: Ciara Has Decisions To Make

DAYS spoilers hint this could turn into quite the love triangle. Ciara will have her choice of men and have to make a decision about her family. Will she want to be with the father of her child or raise the baby with Ben while co-parenting with Theo? Talk about a mess! Do you think this wild speculation can really happen?

DAYS Spoilers Spec: EJ DiMera Plans This For Sami Brady DiMera

When last we saw EJ DiMera in DAYS spoilers, he was kissing wife Sami Brady DiMera – while keeping the secret that he’d found out about her affair with Lucas Horton. And then the Olympics started (and will continue until the soap returns on August 9).

DAYS Spoilers Spec

Which means we have three weeks to sit and ponder what he plans to do about the revelation. So while we’re all biting our nails, close to 7,000 viewers predict they know exactly what Elvis Jr. has up his sleeve:

Days of our Lives: Trump Card

EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) showed us exactly what he’s plotting, 76% of the audience points out when he didn’t let on to Sami (Alison Sweeney) what he knew. EJ knows his greatest weapon right now is Sami not knowing that he knows. In this way, he can subtly begin to torture her…without Sami – or Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) – being any wiser. Sneak attacks are always the best.

DAYS Spoilers: Hug It Out

A much smaller 17% of you predict DAYS spoilers to tease that EJ will pull out from the hug we last saw him in and let Sami have it. He won’t give her time to think of excuses, he’ll just hammer her with Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) letter, Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) confirmation, and he won’t let up until she admits everything. And then, EJ will really let Sami have it.

DOOL Spoilers: Half Enough

EJ loves Sami, 7% remind. And he even admitted he was a terrible husband for her over the past year. So you speculate that EJ won’t blame Sami for what happened – but he will blame Lucas. How dare he somehow trick EJ’s wife into an affair?

(And it had to be a trick. Saaaammaaaaaanthaaaaa would never turn down all the suave European goodness that is EJ for Lucas’s little Midwestern man, unless she was tricked into it.) Lucas is going to find his life absolutely miserable, and Sami will keep telling him it couldn’t possibly be her beloved EJ. He’s totes in the dark still.

Spoilers/Recaps: July 26-30, 2021

The Young and the Restless

Phyllis gets a little help as she plays hardball with Summer’s enemies, Jack finds himself between a rock and a hard place, and concerns about Mariah continue to mount.

Hot Topic: Read our review of what’s working — and what’s not — in Genoa City, then let us know if you agree.

Week of July 26:

Monday, July 26:

Tara and Sally don’t seem to care for each other much, but they’ve definitely formed an alliance. Unfortunately for them, two people with far more experience in scheming — Billy and Phyllis — are about to form an alliance of their own. Something tells us the young ladies could be in way over their heads (this despite Sally’s particularly colorful past, as illustrated here).

Ashland’s health has been on the decline in recent weeks, and there’s no sign of it improving. So when Victoria presents her new beau with a new challenge, will he prove up to it?

Adam gave an inch when he allowed Chelsea to take Connor to see her convalescing mother. But if she thinks he’ll be giving her a mile, she’s got another thing coming. Today, he draws a line in the sand where his ex is concerned.

Tuesday, July 27:

Even as rumors continue to circulate regarding Hunter King’s future with the soap, alter ego Summer is on hand to spend a little time with grandparents Nikki and Victor when they arrive in Milan. Might they be able to convince her to come back to Genoa City?

When Kyle once again jumps to Tara’s defense, all we can do is wonder what she’s done this time that requires him to don his white knight uniform.

Jack has repeatedly told everyone — including himself — that he’s going to take things slowly where Sally’s concerned. But we also know the guy tends to give away his heart far too easily. Is that what’s happening when he presents the younger woman with a surprise?

Wednesday, July 28:

Mariah’s been AWOL for a while now, and although those she left behind have been doing their best to assuage their own fears, Devon and Abby can’t help worrying about the missing mom-to-be. And from the looks of this teaser video, they are right to be concerned!

Last week, Imani made it pretty clear that she’s interested in Nate… and while he didn’t necessarily pick up on that fact, Elena did. Which leaves us wondering what it means that today, the handsome doctor is leaving poor Elena hanging!

Sally may think she knows how the game is played, but Phyllis is in an entirely different league. When Summer’s mom decides to play hardball with the Los Angeles transplant, Sally may find out the hard way why locals know better than to mess with Phyllis! Could the nemeses soon be added to our countdown our soaps’ all-time greatest feuds?

Thursday, July 29:

Amanda and Devon have been dating for a while now, but we’ve been a little uncertain as to just how committed they really are to one another. That being the case, fans of the couple will be pleased to hear that they’re about to solidify their relationship. Looks like we’re going to have to update our photo gallery of Devon’s life and loves!

When Jack is put in the position of making a difficult decision, will it involve his relationship with Sally or perhaps something on the business front?

Friday, July 30:

Sharon welcomes home Rey, whom you’ll recall was assigned to escort Chelsea to her mother’s place.

Chloe is now working with Adam at Newman Media, which is a situation we never really imagined coming to pass. Should the boss be worried that his new hire is strategizing with his ex, Chelsea? Well of course he should! But given that it’s Adam we’re talking about, something tells us he might just manage to stay a step or two ahead of the women…

The Bold and the Beautiful

Paris gets better acquainted with the Forrester family (including their newest member), Wyatt wants to know exactly what’s going on with his mother, and it looks as if Quinn and Carter may be on the verge of figuring out whether they were simply a fling or something more.

Celebrate the anniversary of Scott Clifton’s debut as Liam Spencer by listening in as the actor cracks open his backstage diary to reveal his favorite scenes — from the slap that caught him off guard to the would-be love interest he kinda sorta tanked —

The Bold and the Beautiful — The Week Ahead

Thankful for the generosity Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) showed to her, Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) can’t wait to share her good fortune with Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz). She excitedly divulges information about her new digs with him. Afterward, the two must make a decision regarding their status as a couple. Are we together or are we just friends? The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease this will be an emotional moment for them.

Before the nuptials, Steffy and Finn have a few things to address. Namely, the new information Steffy received makes her outlook on Finn change. Will this be a welcome change for the couple, or is this an indication of rough waters ahead? Maybe it can all be cleared up when Finn’s dad stops by for a visit before the wedding. Meeting Finn’s family is sure to give Steffy more clarity on the type of person he truly is.

Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) aren’t giving up what makes them happy. In fact, instead of listening to their instincts, they jumped into bed together once more for a fun night of passion. Even though Carter has an agreement with Eric Forrester (John McCook) he is struggling to make sense of his feelings for Quinn. He wants to be with her, but he also wants to keep his job. What is he to do?

The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Recap

Carter and Quinn took to his couch and his bed, and everywhere else in his apartment. Their lovefest came to an abrupt end when Eric’s video call popped up. Quinn’s dress was in the background and the couple was almost caught. They decided to never see each other again. That didn’t last long. Carter saved Quinn’s jewelry line and called her for another meet-up.

Paris visited Steffy at home to go over some business. The meeting turned personal and Steffy and Finn were heartbroken to hear Paris was close to homelessness. She had moved out of Zoe Buckingham’s (Kiara Barnes) apartment and was about to check into a hotel. They offered to let Paris move into the spare room.

Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) made a huge play for Steffy’s job. She set up a photoshoot and showed Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) the press release naming her and Ridge co-CEOs. He told her to call and have it corrected. Brooke hinted she would be better at the job. Wouldn’t it be nice to play Stephanie and Eric? Ridge was not convinced.

Wednesday, July 21:

Chase tells Willow he can’t be her husband, Spencer tries to play matchmaker with Britt and his father, and Sasha confides in Michael.

Poor Chase has been living the lyrics from the Friends theme in that it hasn’t been his day, his month or even his year. So it’s probably not surprising that he takes his frustrations out on wife Willow. But how will she react?

Will Jordan be able to provide Nikolas with the answers he seeks?

Stella has a confrontation with Shawn, while Portia takes Terry into her confidence.

Thursday, July 22:

Jordan finds Portia kissing Curtis, Brando chooses Sasha, and Sam and Dante discuss their relationship.

Anna realizes who might have been up on the hospital roof with Peter. If she’s right, what will she do with this potentially damaging information?

When Jason needs someone to talk to, Monica is there for him. And if he needs a refresher course in his eventful history, he can come to us — or at least peruse our photo gallery of his unpredictable life and times.

In need of someone to confide in, Elizabeth turns to her former father-in-law, Scott. (Anyone else willing to bet it’s not a coincidence that he’s an attorney?)

The Metro Court pool is the place to be these days, so it’s not surprising that it’s also where Shawn and Curtis wind up reconnecting. Meanwhile, Trina wants to be happy for her mom… but can she actually let herself be supportive? And when Stella urges Jordan to fight for her marriage, will the top cop decide Curtis is worth it?

Josslyn has news she is anxious to tell her mom… but Spencer manages to ruin her attempt at doing so.

Will Portia agree with Curtis that they should be honest with Trina about their past.

Thursday, July 29:

It’s getting harder and harder for Michael and Willow to keep their relationship under wraps. How long before their secret blows up in their face? Meanwhile, Chase continues to push himself in the hopes of getting his life back on track.

Brook Lynn can’t help being wary of Austin, the newest offshoot of the Quartermaine clan. If he has any trouble figuring out how to fit in, maybe this diagram of the family tree will help.

When Spencer attempts to manipulate Ava, will he be successful or might he have met his match?

Shawn is more determined than ever to find out the truth about who shot Hayden.
