On-screen, JJ Deveraux has been away from Salem for a while, though he was back on Days of our Lives for a short time last year and learned some interesting news about his father. Off-screen, Casey Moss — the actor who portrays the character — is celebrating a major milestone.

That’s because he was born on November 16, 1993, in Hanford, California, which means that this talented performer turns 28 years old today! At 16, the Chandler, Arizona native moved to Los Angeles with father intent on pursuing a career in music.
While he plunged ahead with that dream, he also secured a job as a model for James Tudor underwear and began to develop an interest in the performing arts.
He landed his first acting job at NBC when he was chosen to play legacy character Jack Patrick ‘JJ’ Deveraux on the daytime soap opera Days of our Lives. Moss debuted in an episode that first aired May 3, 2013.
The role of JJ proved lucrative both professionally (he was nominated for the 2018 Outstanding Younger Actor Daytime Emmy) and personally (he has been dating former co-star True O’Brien since 2015).
Other acting opportunities include the teen serial Youthful Daze and the independent films The Last Champion and Circle. Outside of acting, Moss is a member of a band called Eyes of One, which released an EP titled Reconnection in May of 2014. In early 2021, his band Inner Echo released the singles The Demon Inside and Push Me Away a couple of months later.
