It’s not every day that James Reynolds – the recipient of Days of our Lives Soap Hub’s Performer of the Week honor – get’s the spotlight, and that is a real shame. Give this man some juicy material to sink his teeth into, and watch the magic that pours forth.
James Reynolds – Performer of the Week
With his earthly body still inside a hospital room, Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) spirit made its way to a place of peace: the garden located a stone’s throw from the home he shared with the late Lexie Carver.
Ah, Lexie; she who suddenly appears before her beloved. “It’s been ten years since I lost you,” Abe reminded, before quickly adding, “but Lex, not a day’s gone by that I don’t think of you, that I miss you. You’re still in my heart.”
Thanks to Theo (Cameron Johnson), Abe has a constant reminder of his wife. The two share so many attributes…including the same smile. “You’re there, always. Always. Always.”
Abe and Lexie both knew that it wasn’t his time to depart the land of the living – he had far too much left to accomplish; grandchildren to see grow up; a fiancée to wed. But there was time enough for reminiscing.
There were good times on Days of our Lives, like Lexie’s declaration that she was with child; there were dark times, like Lexie’s slow descent into villainy; and there was the day that Abe had to bid Lexie adieu as she succumbed to a brain tumor (we dare you to watch James Reynolds let loose that torrent of tears, and not get misty-eyed yourself).
Parting, they say is such sweet sorrow, but Abe promised Lexie that his returning home wasn’t goodbye forever. “I’ll be seeing you in my heart, and so will Theo. I will be seeing you in his smile.”
It was a relief for all concerned when Abe’s vitals stabilized, and he suddenly roused. Abe will go on to fight another day, to live, and to love – and James Reynolds will go on to entertain his legion of fans for years to come.
