At an event celebrating Peacock’s “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip,” and fresh off her brief return to Days of our Lives as Susan Banks’s possessed by the Devil version of Kristen DiMera, Eileen Davidson revealed an exciting holiday gift for the soap’s many fans.
Days of our Lives Christmas Movie
The Daytime Emmy-winning actress shared the special news that hot on the heels of the network’s success with Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, it was now going to air the movie, Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.
According to the peacock network’s press release, the holiday film is set to stream on December 16 and will follow Will Horton (Chandler Massey) as he writes a screenplay before his Christmas Eve deadline. As DAYS viewers know, this isn’t Will’s first attempt at writing a screenplay.
His first one is being turned into a film (after being rewritten) by his younger brother, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). That one focused on their mother Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney), as well as their grandmother Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall), though Johnny wants to focus solely on Marlena’s time being possessed by the devil.
This script will be completely different — well, mostly. The release went on to say that using everyone’s favorite feel-good holiday movie tropes, Will creates a festive story based on his family and friends in Salem — but with several twists and turns fans will never see coming.
It’s not clear if it will include characters who are on the current canvas or be a mix, like Beyond Salem was. Another question is whether or not Will’s love, Sonny Kiriakis, will be featured and in the form of his most recent portrayer, Zach Tinker (ex-Fen Baldwin, The Young and the Restless), who replaced Daytime Emmy winner Freddie Smith in the role since the actor moved to Florida.
It’s an exciting thing for Days of our Lives fans to look forward to.....
