Lucas Horton decided to stop fighting the inevitable on Days of our Lives and plead guilty to having Sami Brady kidnapped. Mostly because Lucas, in fact, had Sami kidnapped.
Days of our Lives Polling
We’re so used to guilty people proclaiming their innocence, and innocent people being sent to prison for crimes they didn’t commit, that we’re not sure how to respond to Lucas’s (Bryan Dattilo) gesture. Did he do the right thing?
DOOL: Sound and Fury
Yay, Lucas, 72% of you cheer. This is the most clear-headed he’s been in ages. The only way he’s going to get the most important people in his life, his kids, his mom, and especially Sami (Alison Sweeney) to forgive him is if he takes responsibility for his actions and pays his debt to society.
If Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers) can go off to prison and leave her husband and baby twins behind, Lucas can certainly follow in her footsteps as a way to prove he is genuinely contrite.
Days of our Lives: What About Me?
Lucas may be doing the right thing, 25% of fans sigh, but why should we suffer? We like watching Lucas, and we don’t want him going to prison. He’s got kids on the canvas and a mom, and we’re still rooting for Sami to see he only tortured her because he wanted to protect her from that evil EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Doesn’t the fact that Sami initially assumed EJ was behind her kidnapping prove that he’s the worse man?
DAYS: Family Matters
Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) may be grown adults with children of their own, but 3% of the audience still insists they need their daddy around. Also, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) tends to spiral when she doesn’t have anyone to whom she must defend herself.
And then there’s Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), who Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) would really like to fall for Lucas again and leave Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) alone. The point is, he’s needed in Salem, which means he should have stayed and fought!
