Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the not-too-far-off future?

The Young and the Restless C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.

The week of August 22, 2022

Aaron Schwartz debuts as Lucas on Wednesday, August 23. Look for the mysterious character to arrive in Genoa City to work on an assignment for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). He’ll also air on Thursday, August 25. Schwartz’s credits include the role of Vanya on the primetime series Gossip Girl.

Zuleyka Silver has been cast as Audra Charles. The new executive will debut next month, after being summoned to town by one of Genoa City’s business moguls.

Also, Paxton Mishkind is taking over the role of Johnny Abbott, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) son. He’ll premiere next month.

The Young and the Restless History

Y&R made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in.

From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Traci Abbott’s (Beth Maitland) heart to the complicated love story of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Y&R knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more.
