Prayers are going out to actress Anne Heche, who has reportedly been involved in a serious car accident. The former Another World star suffered burns over her body and was taken away by an ambulance to a hospital.
Anne Heche Hospitalized After Fiery Car Wreck
TMZ reports that the crash occurred around 12 noon on Friday in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles. Reportedly, witnesses said that the Daytime Emmy-winner was driving a blue Mini Cooper, which crashed into the garage of an apartment complex.
Apartment building residents attempted to get Heche out of the auto, however, she drove off before that could happen. Shortly thereafter, Heche crashed into a nearby home, which set off a fire. In addition to Heche’s car, the house was set ablaze.
Anne Heche suffered severe burns in the fire. She can be seen in the TMZ video being taken away on a stretcher. At one point, Heche sat up on the stretcher and begins flailing about as she was put into the ambulance.
At press time, no details as to Heche’s specific injuries were available. She’s been intubated and is expected to live. Her condition prevents medical personnel from performing tests to determine if Heche was driving under the influence of alcohol.
During the actress’s run as Marley and Vicky on AW, she took on the challenge, as Marley, pretending to be Vicky — and vice versa — when Marley was on trial for the attempted murder of Jake McKinnon (Tom Eplin).
Anne Heche played the dual roles of Marley Love and Victoria ‘Vicky’ Hudson on Another World from 1987 to 1991. She won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. Heche was already working on post-daytime projects and was not in attendance to receive her award.
The roles of Marley and/or Vicky were also played over the years by Ellen Wheeler, Rhonda Lewin, Jensen Buchanan, and Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves, General Hospital). Heche’s recent credits include the role of Corrine Cuthbert in the legal drama All Rise. Her upcoming roles are in the projects Wake, Chasing Nightmares, Supercell, Full Ride, and The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse. Soap Hub sends well-wishes to Anne Heche for a speedy recovery.
