Soap fans, especially viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful, are familiar with characters having unique names. I mean, have you ever met a real-life Ridge or Thorne before? Let’s not forget Storm Logan, too! Tanner Novlan, who plays Dr. John ‘Finn’ Finnegan, recently revealed how his son got his moniker.
Tanner Novlan Talks Being a Dad
Novlan, along with TV wife Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester Finnegan), recently visited The Talk on CBS to promote their characters reuniting onscreen in Monte Carlo. The duo also talked about being new parents. Wood is a mother of three. Novlan and his wife, Kayla Ewell (ex-Caitlin Ramirez), welcomed their second child, son Jones Douglas Novlan, on June 6. He arrived seven weeks early.
B&B: Getting Strong Now
“He surprised us,” Novlan said. “It was pretty crazy. He’s happy, he’s healthy, and [we’re] very grateful.” The actor heaps praise on the doctors and nurses who cared for his newborn at the hospital until he was strong enough to come home. “When you need them, they’re really there. Now, he’s home. He’s with us, and he’s beefing up.”
Talk host Natalie Morales, who is set to join The Young and the Restless next month as reporter Talia Morgan, shared that she, too, was born on June 6th and asked Novlan about the baby’s name. “It’s such a cool name,” Morales said.
Tanner Novlan: Wife, Kayla Ewell, Is An Action Hero Fan
“[It’s a] little nod to Indiana Jones,” shared Novlan, referring to the Harrison Ford character that’s headlined four (soon to be five) different films starting in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark. “We’ll see if he likes snakes,” quipped Novlan. As Indiana Jones fans recall, the hero is no fan of snakes!
Wood also weighed in with her thoughts on motherhood. The actress and her husband welcomed son Brando Elion in May. “It’s amazing,” Wood shared about being a mom to three boys, all under the age of 3! “I’m dancing in the chaos.” She added that she’s truly trying to enjoy and embrace every moment as she feels that this time in life will go by quickly. “I appreciate the little achievements she says. If I can get three laps around the kitchen island [and get] the dishes [and] laundry [done], that’s great!”
