The author’s opinions are his and his alone. They’re suitably scathing, fairly humorous, and normally bang on target.
When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.
Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review
Oh, the opportunities that were missed. How do you bring back a Days of our Lives legacy character like Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow) and relegate him to a few scenes with Doug Williams (Billy Hayes) and Julie Olson Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and tease a maybe romance with Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) that’ll never be followed up on?
Where was the fiery confrontation between Mike and his mother’s maybe murderer Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien)? Why no scenes opposite his nephew-in-law Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) or former rival Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas)? And why wasn’t DR. HORTON on call to investigate the mystery malady being suffered by Marlena Evans Black (Deirdre Hall), Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), and Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans)?
The storyline team at Days of our Lives should be sued for malpractice.
Further DAYS Musings
* Am I supposed to like Alexander Neil Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson)? Furthermore, am I supposed to root for an Alex/Stephanie Johnson coupling? Because I don’t — all the goodwill he’s built up evaporated on Friday — and I’m not.
I’m also not feeling Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and Chad. That’s a rebound relationship if I’ve seen one.
* What does Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) see in Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan)…other than the obvious. Wouldn’t it behoove her as a woman who’s already been burned by love to steer clear of a man who is still so obviously into his ex?
* What I wouldn’t give for Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) to just once learn from her mistakes and do the right thing? And not for nothing, but wouldn’t saving three women’s lives earn her some goodwill that she could cash in somewhere down the line?
