Soap Opera Casting For The Week of October 3, 2022
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
General Hospital
After a month off the General Hospital canvas, Avery Kristen Pohl resumes her role as Esme Prince, Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) villainous ex-girlfriend, this week. The character was last seen back in August when she plummeted off the parapet at Wyndemere.
KABC Los Angeles news reporter Ellen Leyla appears as Tara on Wednesday, October 5. She’s portraying a reporter who interviews Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
Amanda Setton will miss one episode of the soap opera as Brook Lynn Quartermaine, this week. However, she’ll be replaced by a familiar face. Briana Lane, who subbed for Setton during her maternity leave in 2020, will once again portray the character.
Also back this week will be Cyrus Hobbi (Yuri). He’ll make another appearance as Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) bodyguard.
Days of our Lives
A former fan favorite pops into Days of our Lives, after a 12-year absence from the soap opera. Roark Critchlow is back as Dr. Mike Horton for a couple of episodes. He’ll arrive in Salem on Tuesday, October 4, but quickly leave town on Wednesday, October 5. Critchlow played Mike from 1994 to 1995 and made a brief appearance in 2010.
Cady McClain is heading off the canvas as Jennifer Deveraux for a while. Look for the character to leave town with her brother, Mike, on Wednesday, October 5 to head to rehab.
Kevin Spirtas will be bidding adieu to Salem, too. His alter ego, Dr. Craig Wesley, returns to New York this week.
The Young and the Restless
A popular vet will be getting more screen time on The Young and the Restless. After making a few appearances via video calls, Jess Walton will soon be back in Genoa City as Jill Abbott. Walton shared the good news on Instagram via a video of herself in the show’s studio parking lot. She also posted a picture with her onscreen son Jason Thompson, who plays Billy Abbott.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Othello Clark returns to The Bold and the Beautiful as Othello on Tuesday, October 4. The made his debut on the soap opera back in 2011 as a friend of Rick Forrester’s (Jacob Young). He last aired in 2018.
Ryan Stroud pops in as Trevor on Friday, October 7. The character is the Forrester clan’s pilot.
