Soap Hub Performer Of The Week For B&B: Krista Allen

Taylor finally allowed herself to believe that this time with Ridge is different.

Soap Hub Performer Of The Week For B&B: Krista Allen

Krista Allen hasn’t been playing Taylor Hayes for even a year yet but the show has officially slotted her into the ‘Who Will Ridge Love?’ sweepstakes storyline. Once again, Ridge has chosen the woman he wants to be with and this time, it’s Taylor who has come out on top. For her performance as the love of Ridge’s life (once again), Soap Hub bestows Performer of the Week for B&B honors on Allen.

Krista Allen – Performer of the Week

As Krista Allen is relatively new to B&B, her ability to play the years of angst Taylor has felt over Ridge is impressive. When she talks to her daughter Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), she tries to rationalize how she can’t let herself go down this path again. “When I’m with your dad, all I can think about is ‘What if….now is finally our time?'” Taylor lamented. Allen brought emotional weight to these and other scenes as if she’s carried the Ridge/Taylor drama on her shoulders for years.

Steffy pointed out that once again Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) was going to break Ridge’s trust. “If she does, she does…but we don’t need to wish for it,” Taylor said. Steffy pointed out it’s who Brooke is. Taylor said but she’s not. And that sums up Taylor, the opposite of Brooke. Even Brooke’s most ardent supporters would not argue that she hasn’t gone after Ridge even when he’s claimed to be in love with and even married to another woman.

“I don’t want him to be with me because Brooke let him down again…I want him to choose me because I am his first choice,” Taylor told Steffy. “I want all of him or nothing.” There’s an old saying about letting something go — and that’s when it might come back to you. Taylor found that to be true when Ridge showed up in Aspen, ready to let her know that he’d made a decision.

“I’d rather be alone than be your consolation prize,” Taylor said. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) claimed he was seeing things clearly. “That’s what you do, Ridge! You see things clearly until you don’t!” an exasperated Taylor shot back. With that delivery, we felt as if Taylor’s Krista Allen is the one who’s lost out to Brooke so many times in the past.

Taylor bolted outside where Ridge told Taylor he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her against the beautiful backdrop of Aspen. “I’m not falling for it,” the world-renowned psychiatrist declared before running away again. Ridge caught up with Taylor and admitted a few things that Taylor’s been wanting to hear for years related to her and their kids and how they were robbed of a life together. (They were thanks to Prince Omar!)

Taylor tried to approach her situation with Ridge professionally, asking him what happened with him and Brooke. Ridge said he’d seen the light. Taylor quipped back that that light was a train and headed straight for her! Ridge explained that a pine cone hitting him in the head helped him realize he wanted a future with Taylor, which didn’t infuse her with any confidence.

Ridge continue to impress upon Taylor that she was the woman for him. Finally, Taylor let Ridge’s words fully wash over her and she started to give into the possibility that they were true. “Ridge you always go back to [Brooke] and then back to me…” Taylor tried to note. And then, she caved. “What took you so long?” Taylor rhetorically asked.

Taylor may face another challenge if and/or when it comes out that Brooke did not betray Ridge’s trust and that it was someone else who called Child Protective Services for a welfare check on little Douglas (Django Ferri). We’ve no doubt that Allen will deliver on those scenes just like she has been doing throughout this storyline.
