Soap Opera Casting For The Week of August 15, 2022
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
The Young and the Restless
Natalie Morales begins a recurring stint on The Young and the Restless. The Talk co-host debuts as Talia Morgan on Wednesday, August 17. The character is an investigative reporter who’s been hired to dig up dirt on Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). She’ll appear in multiple episodes on the soap opera.
Days of our Lives
Stephanie Johnson is returning on Days of our Lives. Abigail Klein debuts as Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) daughter on Tuesday, August 16, a character previously portrayed by Shelley Hennig. Klein debuted in the role on the Peacock special, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, Chapter 2. She previously had a part as a nanny on The Young and the Restless back in 2011. Her primetime credits include S.W.A.T., GLOW, Castle, and 90210.
Jessica Serfaty pops in as Sloan, Leo Stark’s (Greg Rikaart) lawyer. She’ll share scenes with Rikaart and Galen Gering’s Rafe Hernandez this week.
Casey Moss has wrapped up his visit on the soap opera as JJ Deveraux. The character returned to Salem for his sister Abigail Deveraux DiMera’s (Marci Miller) funeral.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) is getting a watchdog on The Bold and the Beautiful. Steven Christopher Parker has been cast as his parole officer, Jordan. He premieres on Friday, August 19.
Django Ferri’s temporary fill-in status for fan favorite Henry Joseph Samiri has changed. The actor, who debuted as young Douglas Forrester on August 11, has now taken over the role permanently.
General Hospital
With Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) court case coming to a close this week on General Hospital, the town’s legal folk are back on the scene. Carolyn Hennesy returns to the soap opera as Trina’s attorney, Diane Miller, while Reuben Grundy reappears as Judge Oliver Young, and Jennifer Field is back as assistant district attorney Jennifer Arden.
Gregory Harrison is reportedly now on contract as Gregory Chase. Harrison took over the role of Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) father from James Read (Clyde, Days of our Lives) in 2020.
