Soap Opera Comings And Goings: Mysterious New Character & Returns

 


Who’s coming and who’s going from the casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Soap Opera Casting For The Week of August 8, 2022

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.

The Young and the Restless

Former One Life to Live star Trevor St. John (ex-Todd/Victor) is joining the cast of The Young and the Restless in an undisclosed role. While there are no details about his mysterious character, word is the actor will begin taping scenes this month that are slated to start airing this fall. St. John has kept busy with primetime work over the years and was series regular on the first two seasons of Roswell, New Mexico.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Douglas Forrester pops in on The Bold and the Beautiful this week, but Henry Joseph Samiri won’t be playing him. The popular child star is off filming the new Freeform series The Watchful Eye in Canada and was unavailable to reprise the role. Hence, the soap opera had to recast the role. Django Ferri steps in to replace Samiri on Thursday, August 11.

Also on the kids casting front, River Davidson appears as Beth Spencer, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Hope Logan Spencer’s (Annika Noelle) daughter. She’ll air on Thursday, August 11.

Jeremy Ray Valdez is back on the investigation scene as Detective Alex Sanchez. He appears on Thursday, August 11, and Friday, August 12.

Naomi Matsuda gets more screen time as Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) mother, Li Finnegan. Expect to see the character on Monday, August 8, Tuesday, August 9, Thursday, August 11, and Friday, August 12.

James Ripple reappears as “The Bartender.” He airs on Friday, August 12.

General Hospital

Vanessa Mathison, the real-life wife of Cameron Mathison who portrays Drew Cain, will be making another appearance in Port Charles. Look for the actress to return as executive coach Mia, this week. She’ll share screen time with her husband and Laura Wright, who plays Carly. When Vanessa appeared on the soap opera back in April, she interacted with her husband.

Days of our Lives

Cassandra Relynn turns up as “The Warden” at Statesville Prison on Days of our Lives. She’ll share scenes with Paul Telfer’s Xander Cook and Linsey Godfrey’s Sarah Horton on Wednesday, August 10, when the pair go fishing for information.

Cary Christopher is back as Thomas DiMera on Thursday, August 11. The tyke will have a revealing chat with his TV dad Billy Flynn, who portrays Chad.
