The week of August 16, 2021
Sitcom veteran Marla Gibbs debuts as Olivia Price, Paulina’s
(Jackée Harry) mother on Monday, August 16. The actress, best known for
her work on The Jeffersons and 227, will be on the scene for a few
episodes.
Carson Boatman takes over the role of an all-grown-up Johnny DiMera on Wednesday, August 18. The daytime newcomer’s credits include the films Runt and Bedeviled. Johnny was previously portrayed by Aaron and Griffin Kunitz, who held down the role from 2009 to 2014.
Isabel Durant and Cameron Johnson exit the soap as Claire Brady and Theo Carver on Friday, August 20. Durant has been playing Claire since 2020. Johnson returned for his latest visit as Theo on July 2.
Meanwhile, the word is a very special Horton will be home for Christmas. It’s been confirmed that Melissa Reeves will be returning as Jennifer Horton Deveraux during the holiday season. Cady McClain had taken over the role of Jen, last October when Reeves chose not to commute from Tennessee to California during the COVID-19 pandemic. Days of our Lives History
DAYS made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) crazy schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Fans love their daytime soap operas and the excitement in Salem is non-stop.
