Reports of Peter Reckell’s return to Days of our Lives as Bo Brady are not true. The misinformation, which was reported by Soap Hub, was generated by a Facebook account that apparently does not belong to the actor.
Suffice it to say that we were duped. And I, as the reporter who wrote the story, apologize to Reckell and all the fans whose hopes were wrongly raised.
Peter Reckell Reaches Out To DAYS Fans
“I do NOT have a Facebook account,” explained Reckell on his official Twitter account. “I hope none of you have been taken in by this imposter. Stay healthy and happy.”
Reckell was understandably annoyed by the report. “It would be nice if people would stop staying I’m going back to DOOL without checking with me. Yes, I miss Bo, but no enough to change how fulfilling my life is right now,” he tweeted.
Around noon (ET) on Saturday, August 8, the imposter’s account posted the news Days of our Lives fans have been eager to hear: “So how many that can’t wait ‘til I’m back on Days? Not final but I have been asked to do a surprise drop-in for Ciara; on her behalf for one week. Nothing for certain, but I’m thinking about it…”
Not final. Not certain. And as it turns out, 100% not true. It was all a hoax.
Reckell’s wife, Kelly Moneymaker, who is an official Facebook member, reached out on her social media account to clarify things. “My husband, PETER RECKELL, does NOT have a Facebook account,” she posted. “Someone is impersonating him AGAIN! We do not live in Hamilton and my career is NOT the reason he left #daysofourlives. Sheesh. Please do not be scammed by this impersonator. It’s so awful when people do this. It hurts people we care about and it’s a massive pain to deal with. Sorry for any and all who were misled & love to all of you!!! XXX—Kelly.”
