Soap Spoilers: August 16-20, 2021

Eric Braden as Victor Newman

The Young and the Restless

Victor has his hands full. Not only does he attempt to get Adam and Victoria to make peace — by force, if necessary! — he sticks his nose in Ashland’s personal business and becomes a ray of hope in Mariah’s missing-persons case. In other developments, Devon begins anew, Jack gets a boost, and Sally receives so many warnings that her calendar is going to be all filled up just with ignoring them!

Friday, August 13:

Victoria is horrified when Victor accuses Ashland of faking his illness, Faith and Moses are caught in a clinch, and Mariah’s disappearance turns sinister!

Always the protective father and cunning businessman, Victor questions Ashland about his intentions. Will he get sincere answers, or is the Locke Ness Monster snowing everyone as he works a revenge scheme?

We thought the situation was dire last week when Jack warned Sharon he was going to have to replace Mariah at work for being a no-show and Tessa made an appeal for an assist. At long last, Sharon asks Rey to help find her daughter. Will the detective be able to track down the missing mother-to-be? While he tries, peruse a photo gallery that revisits Camryn Grimes’ entire run on Young & Restless.

Elizabeth Leiner exits The Young and the Restless as Tara Locke.

Week of August 16:

Monday, August 16:

Will Harrison go off to live in Italy with his biological daddy and Summer or stay with Victoria and his other father in Genoa City? Something tells us we’re going to find out when Ashland settles some unfinished business with Kyle. And if it’s all just a little too intense, you can relieve the pressure with a peek at our photo gallery of soaps’ all-time cutest kids — including, of course, Harrison.

When Devon prepares to begin a new chapter in his life, we can’t help but speculate that Amanda will move in, and the pair will look to the future together now that Sutton’s case is finally in the rearview mirror.

Lily wonders if Billy and Victoria will find closure. Which seems akin to wondering if any of Victor and Nikki’s divorces will ever stick, but we can certainly understand why Lily would have a vested interest.

Tuesday, August 17:

Good luck with that! When Victor demands that Adam and Victoria call a truce, will his strong-willed and adversarial offspring give it a shot or tell their father that there’s about as much of a chance of that happening as there is of him shaving off his trademark mustache?

It’s been a rough year for Jack, from losing his mother to a failed romance with Sally, and now Kyle’s moving away, too. Luckily, his pal Lauren will be there to share words of wisdom. Will her advice be able to lift Ol’ Smilin’ Jack’s heavy heart?

When Nikki gives Sally a reality check, we can’t help but wonder if it will contain a rebuke for having manipulated her granddaughter Summer into leaving town. The redhead would be wise to listen to the mistress of the manor; her word in Genoa City now carries almost as much weight as Katherine Chancellor’s once did!

She’s outta there! Michelle Stafford reveals why she’s leaving — social media, that is — and we disclose the other stars who are thinking of joining Phyllis’ portrayer.

Wednesday, August 18:

Is Sally getting kicked to the curb of the Grand Phoenix? We have to admit it was our first thought when we heard that Phyllis would send someone packing. If so, will the redhead relocate to the Genoa City Athletic Club? Oh, how we miss that place!

As Mariah’s absence grows more distressing by the day, Rey digs in to investigate her disappearance. But will the detective be able to unearth any leads? It might be better to leave this to Victor’s people… or, for that matter, Phyllis.

When Jack makes a promise to Ashland, will he be giving Victoria’s fiancé his assurances where Harrison’s health and welfare are concerned? Knowing that Kyle and Summer are not coming back, it’s likely that the boy will be headed overseas. Boarding school, here he comes?

Thursday, August 19:

When Victor decides to investigate Ashland’s past, will he find something suspicious that points to the mogul marrying Victoria for reasons other than love?

Nick hasn’t had much going on lately, so we’re intrigued to find out what he’s keeping under wraps — and from whom — when he plays his cards close to the vest.

As the investigation into Mariah’s disappearance drags on, things take a turn, and Tessa shares alarming information with Sharon. What will the next step be for the panicked women?

Friday, August 20:

Well, this answers our question… The next step in solving The Case of the Missing Mariah takes her increasingly desperate loved ones to the Newman ranch, where Victor agrees to use his resources to help find the surrogate. Couldn’t/Shouldn’t Abby have gotten him involved ages ago?

Meanwhile, it looks like Devon is making his own moves to find Mariah when he asks Denise Tolliver for a favor. He could be reaching out to her for an entirely unrelated matter, but our money’s on him wanting to track down the woman who’s carrying his biological child.

Another day, another cautionary tale. When Kevin and Chloe give Sally a warning, will they be concerned that she’s putting a target on the fashion start-up by provoking Phyllis… or advising her to watch her step with someone else — perhaps Adam?!

Young & Restless says so long to Michael Mealor and Hunter King.

Ted King as Jack Finnegan

The Bold and the Beautiful

As Carter and Quinn’s relationship deepens, a totally unforeseen twist changes everything. Elsewhere, the specter of Sheila casts darkness across Finn’s new marriage as she resists the Forresters’ attempts to banish her, tangles with his adoptive dad Jack, and spurs the newlywed doctor to begin keeping secrets from his wife — with the help of live-in admirer Paris.

Friday, August 13:

Finn breaks a promise to Steffy after Sheila schemes to make contact with him, and Ridge wants a restraining order!

As boundaries are set and tensions run high, Steffy and Finn attempt to navigate their new situation. Man, if ever Bold & Beautiful needed a therapist on the canvas, this is it. Come home, Taylor! Come home!

When a plan is devised by a master manipulator — who can only be Sheila, right? — will she be looking to worm her way into Finn’s family life, or is there more to it? Might she set her sights on becoming Mrs. Eric Forrester again, thus pitting herself against Donna?

Week of August 16:

Hot topic! Sheila’s return to Bold & Beautiful sparks an unforeseen twist that could end Quarter — just as Quinn and Carter get closer than ever!

Monday, August 16:

Uh-oh. When Finn decides to keep an important secret from Steffy, we have to wonder if he’ll allow his notorious birth mother to spend time with their son, Hayes — which can only lead to Sheila becoming even more attached. Not to mention it would put the good doctor’s new marriage at great risk.

Carter contemplates going public with his relationship with Quinn. Will the besotted executive risk it all for the sake of a fallen woman? Given the way he looks at her, we kinda think he might.

Bold & Beautiful gifts fans with a free streaming of Season 1 of the CBS soap. Relive the love, romance and bitter rivalries! Plus, see why Stephanie became such a legend, her portrait remains the only one we can accept on the Forrester fireplace mantel!

Tuesday, August 17:

In an unforeseen twist, Quinn receives shocking news regarding her marriage. Will she discover that Eric is refusing to sign the divorce papers and wants to give their love another shot… or will she learn that they were never actually married at all?!

Finn struggles with his loyalty to the Forresters vs. his birth mother, Sheila, to whom he seems irresistibly drawn. We’d expect nothing less than the conniver playing on her son’s desire to know her, regardless of the upheaval it could cause in his picture perfect life. Let’s face it: That would be Sheila 101.

Wednesday, August 18:

When Carter and Quinn face an unexpected and significant hurdle, will they decide to tackle it together, or will they take it as a sign that their passionate romance has finally run its course?

Paris and Finn’s alliance deepens as she promises to keep his secret from Steffy. We saw trouble coming the moment that Paris moved into that cliff house! Will the growing closeness between Steffy’s live-in friend and her husband manifest into the bride’s worst nightmare?

Thursday, August 19:

When Quinn and Carter share three magic words, somehow we don’t think they’ll be saying, “It’s been fun.” It’s more likely the couple that no one saw coming will finally express their love.

Quelle surprise! Sheila becomes attached to the idea of becoming a permanent fixture in Finn’s life as the Forresters seek to ban her. We can only imagine the schemes and manipulations she’ll undertake in order to achieve her goal — and the destruction she’ll leave in her path.

Friday, August 20:

Eric, Quinn and Carter start a new chapter. Hmm… After the unforeseen complication that threw a wrench into this situation earlier in the week, we hope this new beginning is a sign that they’ll be able to put the past behind them and move forward without rancor. (Oh, who are we kidding? We love rancor!)

When Jack approaches Sheila with a dire warning, it’s safe to assume that he’ll put her on notice about wreaking havoc in Finn’s life. We’re betting the protective pop will stop at nothing — even tangling with the she-devil — to look out for the son he raised as his own. The question is, will Sheila heed his words… or cackle in his face?

General Hospital

Suspicions surround one man’s actions, horrifying information is revealed, a veiled message is received, a party is planned at Wyndemere and an old friend returns.

Week of August 9:

Monday, August 9:

Nikolas suspects Spencer is the stalker, Austin comes up with a new plan involving Chase, and Sam and Shawn find a body.

Proving that you just never know where inspiration will come from, Chase gets an idea from Austin. (Of course, we’re not saying it’s a good idea… )

Brook Lynn is the kinda girl who can easily suss out a secret, so Michael might want to up his game because she’s becoming pretty suspicious of his behavior.

Nikolas is horrified to find out about Ryan’s letter. Meanwhile, Shawn gets one step closer to solving a mystery when he manages to track down Naomi. (You’ll recall that Naomi is the ex-wife of Raymond Berlin, ex-lover of Jeff Webber and, perhaps most important of all, mother of Hayden Barnes!)

Sam receives a message that may be more than it appears.

Tuesday, August 10:

Austin pressures Chase to help him against the Quartermaines, Naomi is found dead, and Nikolas sets a trap for Spencer.

Clearly believing that two heads are better than one, Sam calls Dante for help with a case.

Who is the old friend Liz happily welcomes back to General Hospital?

As Monica checks in on Chase’s new wife Willow, Ned begins to fear that Austin — who is attempting to stake a claim on the Quartermaine fortune — may just have a case.

Trina works hard to convince Spencer he should throw a party at Wyndemere. (Anyone who has ever attended a party at the estate will tell you what an awful idea that is, given how often things end with bloodshed and the occasional tumble off a parapet!)

Wednesday, August 11:

Nikolas goes to Ava with news on their stalker, Scott and Liesl hit the pool, and Laura and Kevin read Ryan’s letter.

Jason and Carly realize it’s time for them to present a united front where it really counts. But are they really ready to take a meeting with the Five Families?

Nikolas may not always have been the best dad, but he admits to Laura that he’s growing concerned about son Spencer. Meanwhile, Ava continues to prove a good influence on Trina by sharing some of her hard-won wisdom with the teen.

Fans of the Obrecht/Scott pairing — and we know there are a lot of you! — will be thrilled to hear that today, they’re continuing to grow closer.

What makes Jordan feel a bit sympathetic toward Portia?

Thursday, August 12:

Spencer prepares for his epic party where Nikolas plans to teach his son a lesson. Plus, Nina and Mike grow closer, and Stella seeks to make amends.

Jason went into his arrangement with Carly with his eyes wide open. But now, she can’t help but wonder if she’s putting too much pressure on him.

Lenny’s determined to live life to the fullest, and Phyllis does her best to embrace his attitude.

Jax opens up to Britt about his feelings regarding Jason and Carly’s relationship. Given her own feelings for the hitman, will this bring Britt and Jax closer?

Portia is feeling optimistic… but is she right to?

Friday, August 13:

Lenny passes away, someone lurks at Spencer’s party, and Carly makes peace with Sonny.

Cameron and Spencer get ready for the big party at Wyndemere. Here’s hoping the guys aren’t in over their heads!

Dante shares information about a case with Sam. Might they find time to mix business with a little pleasure?

Jordan thinks that Shawn needs to focus his attention on two things: His own future and his relationship with TJ.

Jax has spent a lot of time lately worrying about Joss’ safety. Today, he goes directly to at least one of the people he believes is putting the teen in danger: Jason!

Nina and “Mike” are happy and looking forward to the future. (Anyone else feel like this is a sure sign that trouble is heading their way?)

Hayley Erin (ex-Kiki) gives birth to twin girls — plus, find out which former Port Charles castmate shared a precious family photo taken in the delivery room!

As Genie Francis takes off from General Hospital, she makes a promise to fans…

Week of August 16:

GH Soapbox: Pondering how the recent deaths will affect Port Charles — and Nixon Falls. Plus, did Tracy create a monster?

Monday, August 16:

Apparently, Spencer doesn’t read our spoilers. Because if he did, he’d have heard us say (repeatedly) that parties at Wyndemere never go well. Today, he’ll just have to find that out for himself the hard way!

When Ava finds herself needing professional advice from Kevin, might it be with regard to his twin brother, Ryan, and the man’s obsession with her?

When Sam gets a disturbing phone call, who is on the other end of the line? (We’ll give you a hint: It’s someone she believed dead who’s about to return. Oh, fine, we’ll just tell you… it’s Drew!)

Jax has been displeased with Carly for a while now, but things between them are about to come to a head.

Laura may no longer be Elizabeth’s mother-in-law, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care for Lucky’s ex-wife. Today, the mayor swings by to check on Liz.

Tuesday, August 17:

When Spencer finds himself backed into a corner, will he come out swinging?

Ava finds out that when it comes to the past, you can run, but you can’t hide.

Portia gets to use the bedside manner doctors are famous for when she provides a sympathetic ear to someone.

Rather than deal with Jax herself, Carly decides to let Jason deal with her ex!

Sam is absolutely stunned.

Wednesday, August 18:

Laura may love her son but that won’t prevent her from being furious with him today. Meanwhile, Spencer is surprised that despite everything, Trina is kind to him when he needs it most.

When Carly needs defending, Jason is there. Meanwhile, Jax finds himself with the most surprising of allies in… wait, can this be right? Obrecht?!?

Sam turns to Curtis for help.

Thursday, August 19:

The hits keep coming as Spencer and Trina get yet another surprise.

Laura sits her son down for the kind of tough love that only a mother can dish out.

We’re all told that actions have consequences, but that doesn’t necessarily stop us from doing things we shouldn’t. Today, Britt will wind up paying those consequences.

Desperation pushes Ava to make a move. But will a decision made under such circumstances yield the best results?

Jason and Carly decide the whole “long-engagement” thing isn’t for them. Will they really dash down the aisle?

Friday, August 20:

Even as Carly and Jason set a wedding date, “Mike” determines that he’s going to grab life by the horns and live his life to the fullest.

Chase and Willow share a bittersweet moment.

For a while now, we’ve wondered exactly what’s going on between Anna and Valentin. Are they becoming more than friends? Thankfully, Martin tries to get answers to that very same question!

Feelings are like treasures, and Trina tries hard to keep hers buried. But gal pal Joss knows better than to accept what she sees on the surface!

Celebrate the anniversary of Maurice Benard’s debut as Sonny with a tribute to the leading man.

Marla Gibbs as Olivia Price; Jackee Harry as Paulina Price

Days of Our Lives

A newcomer arrives in Salem, which leads to a confrontation regarding the past — plus, Sami and EJ’s son returns, a big sacrifice is made, an offer is presented and an impromptu wedding is planned!

Week of August 16:

Opinion: Days returned from the Olympic break with major action for Cin and EJami but the rest of the canvas could use a little more love.

Monday, August 16:

It’s a time to celebrate as Ben and Ciara’s nightmare comes to an end and they share a happy reunion. Of course, this isn’t going to be great news for Theo, who has his heart broken by the news that his almost-bride has regained her memories.

In the real world, a visit from a parent isn’t usually cause for drama. But on soaps, it often kicks things into high gear. Certainly Paulina seems surprised, to say the least, when mom Olivia arrives in Salem. (Meanwhile, it should definitely prove fun for us given that it’ll be a 227 reunion for Jackée Harry and Marla Gibbs!)

Could Xander be falling for Gwen? That would explain why the hunk — who isn’t always the most generous of dudes — makes a big sacrifice on her behalf.

Sami’s plan to make EJ forgive her hit a snag — or did it go exactly as she planned? Join us as we run down the list of prime suspects in Samantha’s kidnapping.

Tuesday, August 17:

You can run from the past, but it inevitably catches up. That’s what Paulina finds out during a confrontation with mom Olivia.

Although unaware of what’s happened to Sami (let alone that portrayer Alison Sweeney has exited the canvas), Allie tries to track down her MIA mom.

There’s little Gabi enjoys more than pushing someone’s buttons. Today, she finds time in her busy schedule to do exactly that to Ava. Perhaps not coincidentally, at that very moment Rafe is helping calm a devastated Nicole.

Wednesday, August 18:

Ages ago that Sami and EJ’s son, Johnny — who happens to be Allie’s twin — would be showing up. Well, at long last, today’s the day! The first thing he does? Hit on Chanel! Meanwhile, his sister’s concerns about missing mom Sami grow to the point that she loops John and Marlena in on what’s happening.

Olivia does everything in her power to prevent Paulina from spilling the beans to Lani. Is a long-held family secret about to be revealed?

Thursday, August 19:

Claire is about to be made the kind of offer one really shouldn’t refuse. Meanwhile, her ears might be burning, ’cause Ben decides he needs to tell Ciara something about her niece.

How will Allie react when she hears about the new guy Chanel just met? (Wonder if Allie might just find herself feeling a little jealous…)

EJ hopes to convince Johnny that he should join the family business. But will Chad help recruit the young man?

Friday, August 20:

It certainly appears that things are back on track for Ben and Ciara as he decides to throw an impromptu wedding. Will this one go better than her last attempt to tie the knot?

It looks as if Claire’s ready to make a fresh start somewhere new as she (and portrayer Isabel Durant) bids farewell to Salem.

Allie shares a happy reunion with her brother as EJ turns to Nicole for help.
