Enjoy this blast from 2016 Thanksgiving past: Days of our Lives is all about family, and there are many to be thankful for in Salem. From the show’s first family, the Hortons, to the numerous others that have been introduced over the years, each plays a pivotal role in the show’s fabric and storytelling.
Days of our Lives Giving: Thanks
In honor of Thanksgiving, Soap Hub asked you to weigh in on which clan you’re most thankful for. Your responses heavily favored one group of Salemites. However, your love spread to a number of other clans in town, too.
Hail to the Hortons
No big surprise. The Hortons are tops with 76% of you. They’ve led the
way on DAYS over the years with numerous members of the family —
Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Hope (Kristian Alfonso),
Lucas (Bryan Datillo) and more — still front and center in storylines.
You can’t imagine the show without any of them and love them all dearly.
The Kiriakis Clan
Questionable families with mob ties deserve love, too. That’s why 15% of
you cast your vote for the Kiriakis clan. You’ve always had a special
place in your heart for Victor (John Aniston) and his clan, but have
come to adore them even more since Maggie became their matriarch. The
only member you’re currently on the fence about is Deimos.
Team Hernandez
Although the Hernandezes haven’t been around as long as their
predecessors, 6% of you cast your votes for them. They’re an intriguing
mix of characters from super cop Rafe (Galen Gering)
to former assassin Eduardo (A Martinez) to convicted murderer Gabi
(Camila Banus). And mama Adriana, who briefly entered the scene earlier
this year, gave the group heart.
Conspicuously Missing…
What happened to the Bradys and the DiMeras? That was the question asked
by 3% of you, who cast your vote for “other” in their absence. While
you enjoy all the families mentioned above, some of you still feel the
Brady bunch – even without #1 son Bo (Peter Reckell)
– is tops. Others mentioned the DiMeras as their favorite “famiglia,”
noting that the late Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) still brood remains the
most interesting in Salem to this day.
