Heather Tom shines as Brooke’s supportive sister.
Heather Tom has always played her Bold and the Beautiful character Katie Logan with heart and intelligence. Despite the fallouts Katie and Brooke Logan have had, Tom plays her character as someone who will always love her big sister. For her performances upon finding out that Brooke is once again headed to splitsville, Soap Hub bestows Performer of the Week for B&B honors upon Tom.
Heather Tom – Performer of the Week
Katie had hoped that Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) had dropped by her office to perhaps see her personally but she quickly realized that the attorney had something heavy on his mind. Knowing Carter can’t discuss legal matters due to client confidentiality, Katie (Heather Tom) read the legal eagle’s face and deduced that he’d delivered divorce papers to her sister, Brooke.
Carter asked a clearly unsettled Katie if she needed to call Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) but Katie said she was going to give Brooke some time. Carter commented that the Logan women were strong. “Yeah, but we’re not invincible,” replied Katie, who couldn’t hide how much she was hurting over the fact that her sister was in a great deal of emotional pain. “Why is this happening? Why is this happening?” she repeated, hoping that expressing her query out loud would somehow bring logic to the situation.
Carter held Katie (Heather Tom) in his arms as the Forrester Creations executive allowed herself to fully acknowledge what Brooke was going through. In the next episode, an anxious Katie filled Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) in on Brooke getting the annulment papers.
While Katie allowed herself to let her guard down and find comfort with Carter, she put her thinking cap on when discussing the matter with her niece and her husband. “Ridge is a grown man who can make his own choices. Is he so impressionable that he listens to whatever his kids and his ex-wife have to say and he doesn’t listen to his own heart?” Katie rhetorically queried.
It’s a great question — the kind we’d expect Katie to ask. In addition to heart and intelligence, Heather Tom imbues her character with a sense of logic. Perhaps, Katie will be the one to figure out why her sister’s life was turned upside down.
