Soap Hub wishes Judith Chapman a very happy birthday!
It’s been too long since we have gotten to see Judith Chapman grace our soap opera screens on The Young and the Restless, but the actress is currently celebrating a major milestone event.
Happy Birthday, Judith Chapman
That’s because she was born on November 15, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina, which means that this talented performer is turning 71 years old today! Though mostly known for her roles in various daytime soaps, Chapman made her on-camera debut in a Spaghetti Western titled Sette donne per I MacGregor or Up the MacGregor’s!
Her first soap role was on the eye network’s, As the World Turns, where she played Natalie Bannon, a schemer who wormed her way into Tom Hughes’s heart and got him to propose.
In 1983, Judith Chapman won critical acclaim for her work on Ryan’s Hope. On that series, she was Charlotte Greer, a woman furthering a feud between her family and the Ryans by claiming she was Frank Ryan’s ex-wife in a bid to ruin his chances at winning the election to public office.
Subsequently, she joined the cast of General Hospital and appeared as Ginny Blake between 1984 and 1986. Like her previous roles, Ginny was a deceiver, but unlike Natalie or Charlotte, she was a murderess who plugged a bad man full of lead and let his abused wife (Bobbie Spencer) stand accused of the crime.
After exiting GH, Chapman had a small role on One Life to Live as a con artist named Sandra Montaigne. Then, from 1989 to 1991, she could be seen on Days of our Lives as Anjelica Devereaux, another wicked woman. In a bit of irony, Chapman was the third former GH star to portray the character.
In 2005, Chapman was hired by executives at The Young and the Restless to take over the part of Gloria Fisher — replacing incumbent Joan Van Ark. It was a return of sorts for the actress who had subbed for Y&R star Jess Walton when she was too ill to play Jill in the 1980s.
Chapman has remained a part of the Y&R cast, on and off, since her first episode, which aired on January 17, 2005. A brief return to DAYS took place in 2019, though she played Diana Colville this time, a role originated by GH star Genie Francis (Laura Collins).
Soap Hub would like to wish Judith Chapman a very happy birthday.
