Weekly Soap Spoilers: January 31-February 4, 2022

The Young and the Restless

Sally is blindsided by — who else? — Chelsea, and a certain someone rushes to her rescue. Meanwhile, ultimatums and accusations fly as the Newmans tackle testy business topics, and Tessa spills the beans to Mariah. Find out whose motives are questioned and who considers a change in scenery.

Friday, January 28:

Victoria stuns Adam after arguing with Ashland, Noah apologizes to Tessa, and Jack returns to Phyllis leaving.

The Mustache is making moves again, and we couldn’t be happier. So what breaking business news will take Genoa City by storm — and whose nose will be left out of joint — when the tycoon brokers a major deal?

After the epiphanies of his standalone episode gave him new purpose and a renewed sense of direction, Nick shares words of wisdom with Noah. Will his son take the advice to heart… or make more of a muddle of his life?

We have to wonder what’s going on with the Abbott clan — or will it actually have to do with Phyllis — when Jack returns home to chaos? In any case, until he’s back in the thick of things.

Week of January 31:

Y&R Restless Rant: Young & Restless is a hot mess right now! See if you agree with the top 5 plot issues that make no sense, the runner ups, and the things they’re getting right.

Monday, January 31:

When Victor gives Adam an ultimatum, what will his son’s reaction be? After all, the former black sheep has had his back up lately after finding out his dear ol’ dad’s been making moves without his knowledge. Is it time for another parting of the ways between father and son?

When Victoria gets the upper hand, we have to wonder what exactly will that mean for her younger half brother and new employee, Adam, who is currently staring down the barrel of an ultimatum.

Sharon shares words of wisdom with Abby, but we have to question if it’s Chance who needs her advice even more… and what drama it might stir up if the Chancellor heir confides in the blonde?

Tuesday, February 1:

Victor and Nikki gave their new son-in-law the benefit of the doubt because he loved Victoria, but all bets may now be off as they decide they’ve reason to question Ashland’s motives. We feel as though trouble is almost certainly afoot at Newman-Locke.

Sally is blindsided by Chelsea, but for those of us who know the con’s history, it’s really no surprise to hear she’s made a move against the redhead who appears to want Adam. Yes, ladies, we are reserving you a spot in our next update of our photo gallery of Young & Restless’ most epic rivalries.

Always the voice of reason for her husband, Lauren is skeptical of Michael’s new endeavor. Will the silver fox in a suit heed his wife’s advice or forge ahead with his plans?

Wednesday, February 2:

Still a sticky situation! Devon and Abby search for common ground, but will they be able to find it where Dominic is concerned?

Despite Michael’s considerable efforts to try and set her straight, Phyllis considers a change of scenery. Will it take the return of Jack to get the spiraling redhead to stay put? Or while he was away, did he cross paths with someone new who’s looking for love?

When Tessa comes clean with Mariah, we have to wonder if it will have to do with the confession that Noah made. If so, how will the singer’s hot-headed fiancĂ©e deal with her besotted brother?

Thursday, February 3:

Victor shares his suspicions about Ashland with Victoria. We can’t imagine this will go over well, given his daughter’s unwavering loyalty to her husband. Will she listen to the voice of experience or disregard the warning and be blindsided down the road?

Michael gives Nate the third degree. Considering Victor’s aforementioned suspicions, we have to assume the subject of the grilling is Ashland Locke. After all, the good doctor is the Locke Ness Monster’s only friend and confidant!

Adam comes to Sally’s rescue, which just might make being knocked off guard by boss Chelsea just a teeny bit worth it.

Friday, February 4:

They’ve already discussed the possibility of a spring destination wedding, but ahead of the planning, Mariah and Tessa take time to celebrate their engagement.

When Noah puts his best foot forward, we can only assume this means he’ll be on his best behavior at his sister’s engagement party. But will he get through the entire night without making eyes at Tessa or exiting early to drown his sorrows?

When Abby and Chance are challenged as parents, will they turn to Devon in their moment of need? They could do worse. A quick review of his history via our photo gallery will reveal that he’s always been a do-right guy. Well, mostly.

As Michael begins shaking up Genoa City anew...

The Bold and the Beautiful

Anything could happen when Ridge gets up in Deacon’s grill and starts throwing warnings around. Meanwhile, Carter finds himself dealing with an unexpected threat, and Steffy indulges in a little detective work with help from an unlikely accomplice. Find out what she’s getting into and who begins to spiral out of control.

Friday, January 28:

Douglas reveals he saw who Brooke kissed, Sheila gets Deacon to spill, and Grace catches Paris with Carter.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way… and Sheila may just have found it when she watches from afar as Hope and Deacon discuss his night with Brooke. Will the madwoman manage to get close enough to overhear the details? Brooke had better hope not!

This kid has stumbled onto more damning information since he returned to Los Angeles from New York than most of us do in a lifetime. Now poor Douglas struggles to keep Brooke’s secret, but will he manage to keep a lid on the blonde’s latest betrayal… or is it destined to come spilling out?

Week of January 31:

Monday, January 31:

We’re not sure it’s such a good idea for Ridge to poke this particular bear, given there are things he doesn’t know that can hurt him. Nonetheless, the Forrester bigwig issues Deacon a dire warning.

It’s a bit of a full-circle moment when Douglas recounts the story of Brooke and Santa Claus to a stunned Thomas. Perhaps it’s finally the designer’s turn to pass a little judgment on his stepmom.

Tuesday, February 1:

Carter is caught off guard when Grace confronts him about kissing Paris. How will he handle the sticky situation with the meddling mom? It can’t be any worse than having to discuss his affair with Quinn with Eric, can it?

Oh dear… Ridge taunts Deacon and demands answers. We have to wonder if he’ll very soon be very sorry he pushed the con’s buttons and got some “answers” he was not expecting!

Wednesday, February 2:

Carter becomes conflicted when Grace threatens blackmail. Will the usually affable executive stand up to the momster and defend his feelings for Paris, or will he bow out and back down?

Where there’s a will, there’s a way! Having already declared war on the Logans, Steffy sees an opportunity to reunite her parents in Douglas’ story.

Thursday, February 3:

Eep, lock up the vodka! We have to wonder if the cat — well, the much-discussed secret kiss — is out of the proverbial bag when Hope attempts to keep Brooke from spiraling out of control. Here, we actually have something that might help.

They’re an unlikely team, but whatever works, we suppose! Steffy utilizes Charlie to corroborate Douglas’ account of New Year’s Eve.

Friday, February 4:

Carter and Paris have a heart-to-heart about where their relationship is headed. Will the co-workers decide to go public with their romance despite the growing opposition, or will they elect to call it a day and create a situation where they are instead pining for one another on the sly?

Are we seeing a preview of his future when Ridge takes comfort in Taylor’s company even as Steffy plots to bring Brooke down?

General Hospital

Week of January 24:

GH threw every character they had into their storylines last week, and it gave a needed break from Carson. And Luke’s memorial left us with even more questions!

Monday, January 24:

Victor gets closer to the truth about Bailey/Louise, Jennifer Smith makes a cryptic call, and Britt grows curious.

Sonny and Carly love one another, that much is clear. (Couples don’t go through everything they have if they aren’t seriously committed.) But as they say, sometimes love just isn’t enough. Will they be able to get past their latest difficulties?

What’s behind Curtis’ change of heart?

Ned and Olivia present a united front to Leo as they give the boy a bit of good news.

Chicago Fire shocker will bring heartbreak to Firehouse 51 – and open the door for several possible exits!

Wednesday, January 26:

Nina brings Sonny to the hospital, Austin remembers something about the day Maxie gave birth, and Valentin starts to suspect foul play.

The teens have been talking about getting away to Sonny’s cabin for ages, and they finally arrive. (We can’t help but wonder if Cam, Josslyn, Spencer, Esme and Trina have never seen a horror movie. Do they not know that nothing good ever comes of trips to isolated cabins in the woods?)

Carly’s life has been in turmoil of late, so today she decides to try and reconnect with her inner peace. You know what definitely won’t help her in that regard? The arrival of longtime nemesis Ava!

Is it wrong that we hope the news Britt delivers to Peter is along the lines of “You won’t be leaving the hospital alive?” Of course, given his track record, it’s probably more along the lines of “You won the lottery.”

Valentin takes a meeting with Martin.

Want more details about Jennifer Smith? Here’s what you need to know about who’s playing her and the character’s ties to the people of Port Charles, including Luke, Laura and Sonny.

On a momentous General Hospital anniversary, the stage is perfectly set for Felicia to reach out to Frisco.

Thursday, January 27:

Peter learns the truth about Louise, while Valentin puts the pieces together himself. Plus, Esme stirs up trouble between Joss and Trina at the cabin, and Maxie pulls Austin into a kiss.

Drew runs into Sam and their daughter, Scout.

With whom is Curtis reunited when he swings by Charlie’s? (And what is he doing hanging out at the competition’s place?)

Epiphany will be caught off guard by who walks through the swinging doors at Kelly’s.

When tensions escalate at the cabin, will words be said that can’t be taken back?

9-1-1 ‘speeds’ into the 90s when it returns in March. Plus, updates on Chimney and Maddie, and changes to the 118.

Chase and Dante carve out a little time to reconnect with one another.

It’s time for Scotty to find out where a long-missing fan favorite’s been lo these many years.

Wednesday, February 2:

Tracy’s always been the kind of woman who can take care of herself, but things definitely aren’t looking good for her today!

Sonny and Carly finally sit down to have a much-needed conversation. Will things between them be any better once they clear the air?

Spencer’s about to head off to Spring Ridge. But before he does, those he cares about most gather at Kelly’s to say farewell.

Trina manages to catch Ava off guard.

Austin and Maxie try and analyze exactly what went down between them.

Thursday, February 3:

What has Sam seeking out Spinelli?

It’s time for Mac and Dante to take Peter back to Pentonville. (Anyone else a tad worried, given how often prison transfers have gone wrong on this show in the past?)

When Sonny heads to Charlie’s to see Phyllis, will he be seeking her help or sharing good news?

Laura and Victor have been on a collision course for a while, and today she finally confronts him. Meanwhile, Esme’s mind is focused on Spencer.

Friday, February 4:

When Sonny needs a bit of encouragement, Kristina is there for her dad.

Felicia and Anna await word on an unfolding situation.

In the wake of Ned and Olivia’s vow renewal ceremony, Brook Lynn and Chase find themselves talking about their own situation.

Obrecht knows a thing or two about ulterior motives, and she wants to know exactly what Nina’s are!

Maxie’s been under a lot of stress the past year or so. What happens that finally allows her to breath a bit and feel relieved?

Unaware of what’s really going on with Johnny, Julie finds herself shaken by his visit.

Their latest adventure has a happen ending when Steve and Kayla are finally reunited.

Days of our Lives Star Bill Hayes Officiates His Grandson’s Wedding

As debonair Doug Williams, Days of our Lives actor Bill Hayes has taken part in a few memorable weddings over the years! Now, Hayes has officiated the real-life ceremony of a couple very near and dear to his heart.

Bill Hayes Officiates The Wedding Of His Grandson

“On January 16, we enjoyed participating in the intimate family wedding of our grandson David Samuel and the beautiful Amy Shpall,” Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) joyfully posted on Instagram. Check out the post below, which contains a slideshow of photos and videos of the big day. Hayes was able to officiate the marriage as he is now an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church. The blessed event took place at Tony Duquette’s famous Dawnridge Estate in Beverly Hills.

All The Days of Their Lives

There were about 20 guests, which included, of course, Hayes’ wife, Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams). In addition to attending the emotional ceremony, guests were entertained by a magician, a fire dancer, a gospel choir, and a barbershop quartet! At the reception dinner, Hayes joined them in singing ‘Coney Island Baby.’

It was, Hayes says, “A thrilling occasion awash in love and music, perfect for David and Amy – and all of us, too! #DavidandAmy #BillandSusan #SecretsofSoapOperaLovers.” If any couple knows about romance, it’s certainly Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes. The couple met on the show in 1970 after Hayes joined the show and was soon paired with Seaforth Hayes’s Julie.

The couple wed in real-life in 1974 and Doug and Julie got hitched on the show in 1976 and again in 1980 after Doug got his divorce from Lee Dumonde. The couple wed a third time off-camera after Doug and Julie reunited in Europe in 1993.

Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes Soap Opera Secrets

You can check out Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes’s latest endeavor Secrets of Soap Opera Lovers by clicking here. DAYS pals chimed in with supportive messages on Bill and Susan’s post. “How wonderful,” enthused Martha Madison (Belle Black Brady). Former DAYS writer Beth Milstein wrote, “Love it!! So happy for the beautiful couple and that Bill got to marry them!” The groom, David Samuel, posted, “Best Minister Ever! We  you Grandpa & Grandma!”

We would like to send our congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple!

Pack Your General Hospital Bags: Should Jennifer Smith Move To PC?

Jennifer Smith has been through multiple personalities on General Hospital. She started off as a sweet, innocent, cosseted mafia princess unaware of what her daddy, Frank Smith, did for a living…or that he was forcing Luke Spencer to marry her…by threatening Laura Webber Baldwin’s life.

Jennifer Smith’s General Hospital Return

Later, she was a boozy slattern played by Roseanne Barr, hanging out in Vegas with a husband played by Barr’s then-husband, Tom Arnold. (Genie Francis and Anthony Geary also appeared in character on Roseanne, talking about the “evil weather machine.)

The same personality popped up again almost a decade later, this time played by Sally Struthers. Finally, in 2015, ex-Days of our Lives actress Holly Gagnier played a Jennifer who only wanted to sleep with Luke. For “closure.”

Now, Gagnier’s Jennifer is back, wearing widow’s weeds and seemingly in her daddy’s family business for good. Should she stick around Port Charles for a while? What the fans had to say about that possibility:

Unwanted, Unneeded

Nope, 75% of the audience dismisses out of hand. We’re full on mobsters at the moment, thank you very much. Besides, Jennifer might remind longtime viewers that we once cheered for Luke and Laura to get rid of the criminal element…not prop them up as the heroes.

Little General Hospital Woman

Jennifer should only return with her boss in tow, 13% of fans advise. What we’re interested in is who’s pulling Jennifer’s strings. Since she is obviously not up to being the Big Bad.

The More the Merrier

A slightly smaller 12% believes that Port Charles needs even more mobsters, to really get that Godfather feel. We all know Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will triumph in the end, but there needs to be some tension in who will win the silver medal. Right now, it’s Ms. Wu’s (Lydia Look) to lose, and we’d like a little more unpredictabilty.

Should Brooke Tell Ridge She Kissed Deacon on Bold and the Beautiful?

They say honesty is the best policy but should Brooke Logan Forrester tell Ridge Forrester the truth about kissing Deacon Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful? After all, she suspects he won’t respond positively and she’s probably right!

The Bold and the Beautiful Brooke Has A Dilemma

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) wants to be honest with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) but she also knows that he predicted no good would come from having Deacon (Sean Kanan) around the house. Soap Hub asked fans if Brooke should come clean with her husband or not.

The Whole Truth

The majority of you, about 64%, feel that Brooke needs to not only tell Ridge that she kissed Deacon on New Year’s Eve but also that he slept over (on top of the covers, fortunately) and that nothing happened. Ridge isn’t mad that Brooke had a slip-up and drank on New Year’s Eve. She’s not responsible for Deacon deciding to sleep over. And once it comes out that Sheila switched the labels on the alcoholic and non-alcoholic bubbly, then Ridge will know she was set up to take a fall.

The Bold and the Beautiful – Brooke Needs To Be Honest

An additional 32% of you feel that Brooke has to be honest because it’s the right thing to do. If she loses Ridge temporarily while he calms down and we all wait for the truth to come out, then so be it.

Once Brooke tells the truth, she won’t have to worry about little Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) blabbing the secret or Ridge finding out from Deacon. Come clean, Brooke!

The Truth Hurts

The rest of you, about 4%, say that Brooke should keep her secret as long as possible because if she tells Ridge what happens, he’ll be hurt. He already feels bad about not being there for Brooke on New Year’s Eve. Why make him feel worse?

Also, within this 4%, many of you feel that someone else will be hurt if Ridge learns the truth — Deacon! Once Ridge knows that Deacon slept over (even though nothing happened), he’ll likely go after him with a vengeance! The ‘B&B’ might end up standing for ‘The Battered and the Blue’ instead of The Bold and the Beautiful! No matter what choice she makes, Brooke is headed for some serious drama!

Days of our Lives Justice: Does EJ Deserve What Happened To Him?

Ain’t it always the way, on Days of our Lives? The rare crime EJ DiMera isn’t guilty of, that’s the one he gets convicted for. EJ has had Sami Brady DiMera kidnapped before. But not this time.

Days of our Lives Polling

This time, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) is the culprit. But Lucas and Sami (Alison Sweeney) are jetting about the world, all footloose, fancy-free, and in love again for the nth-time. While EJ is facing a jail sentence. Does he deserve it? What over 2,000 fan jurors believe:

DOOL: Fair Play

Is there no justice in Salem, almost half of you – 49% – weep. EJ is innocent of this one particular crime, so he should be set free. Also for all of the particular crimes that he actually did commit. Because he is tall, good-looking, and sexy. And because only people you don’t like should have to do time on DAYS.

Days of our Lives: Split the Difference

EJ does deserve to have people suspect him of kidnapping Sami. He even deserves to be convicted of kidnapping Sami. But he doesn’t deserve to go to jail, counter 32% of the audience.

Surely, the pain and suffering he’s already gone through is enough punishment for everything he’s done in the past, both to Sami and others. Let’s just wag our collective fingers at him sternly and move on to more wacky hijinks!

DAYS Turnabout is Fair Play

He deserves everything he’s getting and more, cackle a last place 19% of voters. EJ has done horrible things to Sami and Lucas – it’s how Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) ended up being born, after all – which means they now deserve to get away scot-free, while EJ suffers.

Heck, he even deserves Johnny being possessed by the Devil, plotting to steal EJ’s company from him, and macking on Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) while assuming EJ’s form, so that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) won’t share what he knows about EJ’s innocence!

GH Spoilers Wild Speculation: Trina Robinson Busts Esme Big Time

Esme Prince is quite the troublemaker and GH spoilers hint it’s only a matter of time before she’s busted. We think that day is coming soon and it’s going to be Trina Robinson who catches up with one of her crimes.

GH Spoilers Wild Speculation

Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) is a terrible little troublemaker who has done some terribly troublesome things, but her biggie was that fateful night at the galley when she locked the wrong woman in the storage room. Instead of capturing her nemesis, she put Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and her baby in danger and it ended in devastation.

Was she the reason Sasha lost her baby? Maybe, maybe not. But, we’re sure the stress of being shut away didn’t help matters. And, because of the tragedy, no one thought to look into why that door was jammed in the first place…until now.

GH: The Awful Truth

We predict during the next few days Trina (Sydney Mikayla) is going to see a very ugly side of Esme. GH spoilers tease the cabin getaway is going to be explosive and change everything for the group of teens. She’s going to ruin lives and destroy relationships. And, put Trina on high alert. Trina will surely figure out this girl is full of secrets and lies and start to do some serious digging.

How will the truth about the gallery come out? Will Esme get drunk and slip up? Will Trina check the cameras? Who knows! But, we’re sure she’ll figure it out and when she does, it’s all downhill for Esme.

Will Trina use this juicy tidbit to her advantage? Absolutely! She’ll scream it from the rooftops and let everyone know what this monster did to Sasha. She’ll also make sure Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) learns exactly the type of woman he’s dating. What kind of person locks a pregnant woman in an office and then doesn’t take responsibility — especially after the death of a baby? Esme. That’s who! It’s time she fesses up and pays the price!

GH Spoilers: The Road to Romance

This could very well pave the way for a Trina and Spencer romance. He keeps telling his friend he’s trying to be a better man and this will give him the opportunity to put his money where his mouth is. He’ll denounce Esme and see Trina is exactly the kind of lady he wants in his life. Think this wild speculation could really happen?

The Bold and the Beautiful Alum Anthony Turpel Celebrates His Birthday

It’s been quite some time since RJ Forrester —  Brooke and Ridge’s only child together — has been seen, or even mentioned, on-screen — does he even know that his parents are having issues with their marriage? – but performer Anthony Turpel has been busy ever since his exit and he’s currently celebrating a major milestone.

Happy Birthday, Anthony Turpel

That’s because he was born on January 26, 2000, in Los Angeles, California, which means that this talented actor is turning 22 years old today! Having decided that he wanted to be an entertainer at the age of 5, Turpel joined the cast of many school musicals despite admitting later that he was a terrible singer.

In a bid to find free acting classes, Turpel would recite a monologue from the film Field of Dreams and after one such audition, he landed himself an agent. In quick order, he began booking roles on nationally-aired commercials for products and businesses like Dodge and Jack-in-the-Box.

In 2015, he made appearances on Comedy Bang! Bang!, Henry Danger, Life in Pieces, and Future Shock. One year later, he was cast as Ridge Forrester Jr. on the CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.

His debut aired on September 14, 2016, and he remained in the part until February 12, 2018, at which point “RJ” moved to Paris, France with his older brother Rick Forrester and (now former) sister-in-law Maya Avant.

Subsequent to his departure, Turpel appeared in two episodes of the FOX procedural 9-1-1 and he had a recurring role on the Netflix original series No Good Nick. Most recently, he joined the cast of the Disney+ series Love, Simon.

We would like to wish Anthony Turpel a very happy birthday.....

Y&R Spoilers Wild Speculation: Mac Returns to Romance Nick

Y&R spoilers hint that Nick Newman plans to focus on his family in the upcoming months. He learned plenty from his breakup with Phyllis Summers, which is why we’re not entirely sure we see a reignited romance growing between him and his other ex-wife Sharon Rosales. Instead, we could see Nick bonding with somebody brand new who has ties to Genoa City but who isn’t his ex — Mackenzie Browning.

Y&R Spoilers Wild Speculation: A Match Made in Genoa City

Actress Kelly Kruger most recently portrayed Mac during the storyline with J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) a few years ago. Mac and J.T. had divorced, and she was raising his children. She last showed up in Genoa City in January 2019, so it seems like she’s a prime suspect to return (perhaps after Kruger has her baby).

Because Mackenzie is Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) granddaughter, she has pretty strong ties to Genoa City. It’d be wonderful to see her return, and she’d be a viable romantic partner for Nick (Joshua Morrow) primarily because she’s not one of his exes. Also, tying together the Newmans and the Chancellors with another thread might be interesting too.

Sure, it might seem crazy, but we think it could work. Yes, the easy thing would be for Y&R spoilers to tease a reunion with Sharon (Sharon Case), but we’re not entirely convinced that aligns with Nick’s recent epiphanies about life.

In addition to the unexpected romance, Mackenzie’s return would bring some possible drama, too, given her connection to Nick’s sister, Victoria, through J.T., making the whole thing that much more viable.

Romantic Connection

We’d love to see Nick with a new romance, and it’d be great if his lady love had a good connection to others in Genoa City. Mackenzie returning would satisfy both those things. Plus, her children Dylan and Becca could be aged to provide something Y&R has been missing lately — a teen scene.

We think somebody like Mac, who once actually owned Crimson Lights, would provide Nick with a partner without all the baggage he has when he reunites with Phyllis or Sharon. Sure, maybe Sharon and Nick are end game, but it doesn’t seem as if he’s quite convinced, and honestly, neither is she.

DAYS Star Stephen Nichols Pens Heartfelt Tribute To His Mother-in-Law

Stephen Nichols considers himself fortunate to have an amazing family, but the Days of our Lives actor, who has played Steve Johnson for over three decades, shared some sad news over the weekend.

Stephen Nichols Says Goodbye To His Mother-In-Law

On Instagram, Nichols announced that his mother-in-law, Betty, passed away at the age of 95, and the actor posted a loving tribute to the woman he called his “Mama.”

“In the summer of 1982, I had an amazing streak of good fortune,” he wrote. “I met my future wife and was welcomed into her family with warm and open arms. Lisa’s Mother, Betty made me feel and let me know, almost immediately, that I was one of hers. She considered me a son, and feeling that, I considered her a mother.”

Nichols posted a video montage of his mother-in-law’s life, showing a collection of photos taken throughout the years.

“Being a part of this clan has changed me in ways I can’t describe,” the actor continued. “The unconditional love with which Betty raised her children has turned out wonderful, confident and loving people. They are the best people I know and watching them, growing with them these past forty years has helped me to be a better person.”

In her later years, Betty had some issues, and Nichols pointed out the care his wife, Lisa, and her four siblings gave her over some difficult years is a testament to the love the entire family had for her.

“We would do anything for her and even though she knew it, she asked for very little,” he wrote. “My dream of having a good life for my children and myself, a life full of love and laughter came true when I became a part of this family.”

Betty had a full life. Nichols revealed that she was a seamstress who sewed dresses, robes, and traditional Swedish outfits.

“But she gave us so much more than her time and talent,” Nichols says. “Mom was incredibly intelligent, wise, and witty. She was the Queen of the one-liners. Always patient and honest, and even when she disagreed, she found a gentle way to tell you.”

Betty is survived by five children, 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. “I can’t imagine these past forty years without your love, Mama,” Nichols ended. “I am eternally grateful to you. I love you and you will always be in my heart.”

Among those sending Nichols thoughts and love were castmates Kristian Alfonso (ex-Hope Williams Brady), Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali), and his on-screen, long-time love Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady Johnson). We wish Stephen Nichols and the rest of Betty’s family our condolences.

GH Spoilers for January 25: Victor Can Add Two Plus Two And Get Maxie

GH spoilers for Tuesday, January 25, 2022, reveal a discovery, escalating tension, trouble brewing, and so much more. You won’t want to miss an explosive moment of this new episode.

GH Spoilers Highlights

Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) has needed to get the drop on Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) baby and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) just gave him the ammo he needs to make a trade for control of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). A clueless Maxie meets up with her mom, with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) being thrilled that Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) is still dead.

Tensions escalate at The Savoy. A manic-looking Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) tells Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) he wants The Savoy and isn’t leaving until he gets it. Elsewhere, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) said it’s either her or Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), while the other woman is asked by daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) why she had to be the one to leave when Sonny messed up.

General Hospital Spoilers: Teen Trouble

With Joss occupied, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) stirs the pot with Cameron Webber (William Lipton). She says that Spencer Cassadine isn’t the one Trina Robinson wants, making it sound like she wants Cam. Sure, there was a time when Cam and Trina thought they could be more but that’s not the case now. Will Esme get Cam to doubt that?

Trina (Sydney Mikayla) isn’t one to stick to Esme’s script so she gets flirty inside Kelly’s with Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). The two appear to be making a bet on something (could it be how scary nuts his girlfriend is — probably not), with Trina asking him if he cares to make things interesting. What is Trina considering putting on the table?

General Hospital: Deep Dive

Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) gets a little personal with one of General Hospital’s doctors. She asks Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) about Leo Falconeri’s (Easton Rocket Sweda) case. Will he explain to her why he was willing to risk his entire medical future on this young relative he barely even knows?

Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) has something for Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). But when Alexis’s daughters Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Kristina Corinthos Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) compare notes, Kristina says she’s not okay with it. Will they try to get their mother to turn her back on the friend who was there for her during one of the toughest times of her life?

Vincent Irizarry Pays Loving Tribute To The Late Great David Canary

Handsome actor Vincent Irizarry has been thrilling soap fans across the dial in his various soap roles. Along the way, he has worked with some of the best in the business — including multiple Daytime Emmy winner David Canary, who played opposite him on All My Children when Irizarry played David Hayward. Recently the actor was asked about the experience of working with the late daytime legend, who passed away in 2015.

Vincent Irizarry Remembers David Canary

Irizarry recently took part in a Fantasy Events gathering via Zoom with a large group of supporters. One attendee, Leslie, asked if he would share his thoughts on the legendary David Canary. Irizarry was eager to reply.

“I looked at David Canary, from the moment I met him — David is like the salt of the earth,” he began. “David was a wonderful human being, so gentle, so sweet, so kind, and attentive to the people around him. I’ve said this several times, that there are people on All My Children that by soap opera standards certainly had the cache, the presence, that if they wanted to be, they could be divos or divas. Cause I worked on some shows where some of the actors were that way. That was not like that on All My Children. David Canary was one of those people that certainly had earned the right to be that if he wanted to be but he couldn’t have been more gracious to everybody he worked with – the crew, the actors, the people that were there. And I loved working with David. We had a great working relationship together.”

Canary played twins in Pine Valley — Adam Chandler and his brother Stuart Chandler. It was early on in his AMC run, which began in 1997, that Irizarry got the chance to work with the gifted actor.

“My first time working with him,” revealed Irizarry, “I had only been hired for three months on the job, on All My Children at that time. One day I got three scripts that were all scenes with David and we were shooting them all in one day and the reason why is because David, as you know David played Adam and also Stuart. So we were going to be shooting these scenes with him playing both roles so there was going to be a stand-in for him when he was Adam or a stand-in for him when he was Stuart.”

That process can take a long time. “So it was literally five hours of us on the same set doing all of these scenes,” continued Vincent Irizarry, “one after the next after the next — two times — and me performing with his stand-in and me performing with him. I swear, after the five hours, I remember going home and saying to my wife at the time, I feel like I just sat in on a Master Class with him. He was so brilliant, working with him and he was from the first day working with him, all the way to the end. He was such a sweet, dear, loving, gracious man.”

Chelsea Should Fall For This Young and the Restless Man Next

Chelsea Lawson returned to The Young and the Restless determined to win back the heart of the man she’d set up to take a fall for attempted murder…er, the beloved father of her even more beloved child.

A New Young and the Restless Man For Chelsea

But when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) expressed a distinct lack of interest, Chelsea went a wee bit nuts. Which she has a tendency to do periodically. Should she move on, instead? With whom? What over 5,000 voters are suggesting:

New Guy

Sure, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) was the guy Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) almost murdered while she was framing Adam, but he’s a great guy, 59% of you remind. He forgives wife Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) all sorts of things.

And he was willing to live away from Sharon for weeks all so that Chelsea wouldn’t have to be separated from Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). He even sent her son a Christmas gift! (Do you think Chelsea thought to send Rey’s wife a gift as a thank you for the loaner?) So why not go for Rey? He’ll put up with anything…and anyone.

One Big Happy Young and the Restless Family

There was a time when Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea were planning to raise Connor and Christian Newman together as brothers. Then she took off. (She was so attached to Christian that she even first took him with her, along with Connor.) Well, now Chelsea is back. And Adam is no longer in play. So why not give it another shot, 30% advise.

Trade Up

Adam is not a popular Newman. You know who is popular, though? Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) 11% agree. Everybody loves him. So if Chelsea were to hook up with him, she’ll be even closer to all that lovely Newman money. And make both Nick and Adam aware that she can always trade up for a new, better, younger, hotter model.

Should Sheila and Steffy Team Up on The Bold and the Beautiful?

There’s an old saying about how ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend.’ That could very well describe the dynamic on The Bold and the Beautiful between Sheila Carter and Steffy Forrester Finnegan as neither are fans of Brooke Logan Forrester.

The Bold and the Beautiful Strange Bedfellows

Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) despises Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) for threatening her delicate relationship with her son Finn (Tanner Novlan) and her grandson Hayes.

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) doesn’t like that Brooke stole Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) from Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) and from her. “Stole” might not be the right word as Ridge went to Brooke willingly but it still stung Steffy. Might Sheila and Steffy, neither of whom care much for the other, team up to get rid of Brooke once and for all? Soap Hub posed this question to B&B viewers.

It Might Sound Good On Paper

We’ve seen a lot of unlikely alliances in soaps but a Steffy/Sheila team-up isn’t feasible say 82% of you. There’s one simple reason — you can’t see Steffy allying herself with the woman who shot her mother, robbing her of formative years with her family and children.

In a way, Sheila Carter is just as much to blame as Brooke is for her family breaking up. After Sheila shot Taylor, Prince Omar whisked her away from her hospital bed and brought her back to Morocco where she spent years as his “guest.” Steffy will find another way.

The Bold and the Beautiful: Oh, Sheila!

Some of you, about 12%, feel that even if Sheila and Steffy were to team up to get Ridge and Taylor back together, that Sheila would turn on Steffy in a heartbeat. She’d paint Steffy as the manipulator in all this and that would pave the way for Sheila to spend even more time with Finn and Hayes. Don’t do it, Steffy!

Give It A Try

Perhaps, this scheme could work. About 6% of you think it can! Steffy and Sheila can team up, reunite Taylor and Ridge, and leave Brooke out in the cold! Sheila better think twice to double-cross Steffy, however. She’s just as savvy as Sheila only she uses her powers for good and not evil.

Moral Quandary: Has Gwen Gone Too Far on Days of our Lives?

No one ever accused Gwen Rizczech of being a good person on Days of our Lives. But she did put on a big show of wanting to make up for the bad things she’s done, to change hearts and minds, and win the love of a nice man. Well, Xander Cook isn’t nice. But he has treated Gwen better than anyone else ever has.

Face-Swapping Schemes on Days of our Lives

And she did want to be worthy of him. But then Gwen (Emily O’Brien) found out that Xander’s (Paul Telfer) ex, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) didn’t ditch him on their wedding day. She was kidnapped. And Gwen kept that information to herself.

OK, she kind of did more than merely keep the information to herself. She actively schemed to keep a woman who’d never done her any harm prisoner. All to hold onto a guy. Also, she put on many masks to make that happen. Is there any coming back from this now? What almost 5,000 fans told us:

No Coming Back

Nope, 70% don’t even have to think about it. This is beyond the pale. Before, Gwen could at least cry alligator tears about how her mommy didn’t love her and her daddy didn’t acknowledge her. But Sarah is innocent. She was snatched away and dumped on an island away from her family. The fact that Gwen is willing to keep her there for Gwen’s own purposes is an unforgivable sin.

Days of our Lives Matters Most

We’re sure most of Salem will forgive her – or just ignore her – according to 20% of you, but Xander should not. She’s supposed to love him. And she made him suffer. That’s a dealbreaker.

One Of Us

And then there are the 10% who figure all of Salem, including Xander and Sarah will ultimately react with a collective shrug. It’s not like what Gwen did is any worse than what everyone does on a regular basis there.

GH Spoilers Speculation: This Is Who Is Gaslighting Elizabeth

GH spoilers seem to be leaping onto a Tik-Tok trend as Elizabeth Webber Baldwin appears to be taking a break from girl-bossing and gate-keeping to get… gaslighted? Liz took her wedding ring off New Year’s Eve as a way of demonstrating that she’s moving on with her life.

GH Spoilers Speculation

Unfortunately, that’s not the only thing that’s moving. The ring seems to be, too. Who’s behind the creepy turn of events? Over 4,000 suspicious fans speculate that they know what’s going on here:

Sister Are Doing It For Themselves

The call is coming from inside the house, 41% of you are screaming. That’s your way of saying that you think Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) is doing this to herself…only she doesn’t know it. The woman has been through so much. She’s lost her first love, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) – then got him back. She lost her middle child – then got him back. And now she’s lost her most recent husband, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). Maybe she’s trying to make him return. Without being fully aware of it.

GH Spoilers: The Other Sister

It’s not Liz, it’s someone close to her, 34% of the audience predicts. As close as a sister. An actual sister, as a matter of fact. It’s Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig). Sure, Hayden and Liz had worked out a relationship by the time Hayden disappeared. But that doesn’t mean Hayden is cool with coming back to find her sister…in her man’s arms.

General Hospital: Lady Boss

Even a dead Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) has a finger in every Port Charles pie. Which is why 17% of voters speculate she’s behind this, too.

GH: Remember Me?

Only 8% are predicting that this is actually Franco trying to reach out to Elizabeth from beyond the grave. But why not? They had an intense connection. Why should that be severed by a little thing like death?

Y&R Spoilers Speculation: Sharon and Rey Rosales’s Marriage Implodes

Y&R spoilers tease that Sharon Rosales and Rey Rosales experience some bumps in the road as each seems to notice things about the other that make them jealous. It’s clear that these two aren’t on the same wavelength after a year of marriage. We speculate that this couple is headed for a dramatic implosion.

Y&R Spoilers Speculation: Sharon and Rey in Trouble

Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) feels left out of Sharon’s (Sharon Case) family life. He’s obviously felt sad that he doesn’t have connections to Sharon’s children from their early lives. In addition, he’s noticed Sharon’s bond with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) over their children’s younger years. Rey seems like he doesn’t appreciate sharing Sharon with Nick even though the two men get along reasonably well. Deep down, it seems like Rey wants a child he knows to share that type of bond with from the beginning.

In addition, it seems like Rey slightly resents all the interruptions in their lives from Sharon’s children. Yes, he’s a grown-up, so he handles it okay, but it appears like he wants more of his wife’s focus and attention.

As for Sharon, Y&R spoilers have teased that she’s noticed that Rey seems extra friendly with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). It’s strange for him to be so close to the woman who tried to poison him, but somehow that’s where Rey is. Does he see her as a baby momma possibility? Perhaps.

A Relationship Implodes

Adding all of these things up, we can’t help but think that Rey and Sharon are headed for a split. We aren’t sure if it’ll be Rey who cheats or Sharon. Perhaps these two will handle it like adults and split before moving on with someone else.

However, if we had to guess, we think Rey and Chelsea will step over the line, which could leave Sharon turning to Nick. What do you think will happen with Rey and Sharon?

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Carter Walton Isn’t A Great Guy, Actually

Carter Walton is one of The Bold and the Beautiful’s most eligible bachelors. He’s hot, funny, sweet, and kind. He’s exactly the type of man any lady would want. However, he’s also the type of man you would never want as a friend.

Bold and the Beautiful: An Underrated Schemer

Oh yes, Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) is quite the ladies’ man, that’s for sure. He’s had quite a time rolling around with the best of them and catching the eye of many more. But, his bid for a happily-ever-after comes at a cost…one his friends are forced to pay.

B&B: Bad Boy Vibes

Let’s take a look back at Carter’s romantic history, shall we? Remember when he dumped Maya Avant after her secret past identity came out? Yeah, it was pretty awful. What’s worse is when he realized he made a mistake, he tried to win her back – only AFTER she fell for another man. Wasn’t he friends with Rick Forrester at the time? Who proclaims their love for their buddy’s lady? Carter. That’s who.

And his dalliances do not stop there on The Bold and the Beautiful. He wanted Zoe Buckingham and he got her only to throw her away for a few romps in the hay with the boss’s wife. The second Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) pulled back, he was chasing Zoe again, this time while lying to her even as he put a ring on his finger. Yep, that’s a good man right there.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he continued his illicit affair with Quinn knowing it was truly tearing Eric Forrester (John McCook) apart. Sure, they had “permission” but he still knew it was wrong. Heck, he even said it felt wrong. But, instead of stopping, he tried to convince Quinn to run off with him! Buddy of the year, right?!

Now, he’s playing a crazy little game with Paris Buckingham (Diamond White). He is fully aware Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) is head over heels in love with this girl but he can’t seem to keep his hands to himself. Once again, he is backstabbing a good friend for the sake of sex.

Bold and the Beautiful: Get It Together, Carter

When will the madness end? Soon, we hope. Carter had a nice flirty thing going with Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and we really would love to see him continue that. She’s free, of his caliber, and on the market. She’s a bigger catch than he is! But alas, a man like Carter only seems to want what he can’t have. When will enough finally be enough? Do you agree with us or do you have your own thoughts on this storyline?

Young and the Restless Takes a Chance on Fatherly Bonding

The Young and the Restless probably never should’ve begun the community baby storyline with Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor, Chance Chancellor, Devon Hamilton, and Mariah Copeland. However, more than a year ago it kicked off, and here we are dealing with the fallout and a sweet little baby named Dominic.

Young and the Restless Takes a Chance

Although we hate seriously dislike most of this storyline, one interesting part sticks out to us. If Y&R does it right, it could actually be somewhat unique. Chance (Conner Floyd) is clearly depressed and suffering the fallout of PTSD. While many series in daytime and primetime have shown the difficulties new mothers face bonding with their babies, it’s unusual to see a father struggling. In that aspect, the soap has the opportunity to tell an important aspect of parenting struggles that doesn’t receive a lot of attention.

Of course, given the way the soap has failed on other important storylines — like Sharon Rosales’s (Sharon Case) cancer — we’re not so sure it will do this one justice. Plus, this storyline isn’t popular with viewers. For the most part, it feels like some of our favorite characters like Devon (Bryton James) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) are sacrificed on the altar of making Abby (Melissa Ordway) a lead character.

Chance Chancellor Needs Professional Help

We mostly hate what Devon is doing because it feels so out of character. If anyone should appreciate the bond between an adoptive parent and child, it should be Devon, who had incredible relationships with his adoptive parents.

However, we do want to see Chance and his family come to terms with his feelings and struggles bonding with Dominic. We want Abby to hear her husband and help him get the care that he needs instead of pushing forward.

We hope that Chance seeks out counseling because he’s clearly suffering. While it’s difficult to admit he needs help, that is what he should do in the end. We’d also love to see the show play out the nuances of Chance struggling to bond with Dominic and then watching as that bonding slowly develops as Chance heals. Of course, having Devon fighting for parental rights could throw a wrench in that. Then, when you add in Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) if and when he finds out about the whole thing, we suspect plenty of drama, and none of that will help Chance.
