Based on her past brief but memorable visits to Port Charles, we’re guessing that General Hospital doesn’t have Jane Elliot back on the canvas as Tracy Quartermaine for very long. However, the show, and the actress, of course, deserve major props for making every moment she’s on-screen count — and then some!
General Hospital Maximizes Tracy’s Time
Since her return to Port Charles, Elliot’s Tracy delivered the devastating news to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) that her ex-husband Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) was dead. Then, she went over to the Quartermaine estate, which Tracy made sure to mockingly call “Monica’s house,” and quickly put two and two together and figured out one of the show’s current mysteries.
Next, the show wrapped up the story beat that prompted her to leave town the last time. She was on the lam after setting up Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) on a drunk driving charge (she was innocent) in order to help disguise the tryst between Alexis and Tracy’s married son Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth). Dante slapped the cuffs on Tracy and took her to jail. This resulted in Tracy interacting with Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) as she tried to figure out how she’d finagle a “get out of jail free” card.
Freedom
Fortunately for Tracy, Alexis had a change of heart and informed Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), the district attorney, that she wasn’t going to cooperate with the case against the Quartermaine diva. Tracy’s a free woman! While it was nice to see Alexis throw her pal a bone, we were kind of hoping she wouldn’t – anything to keep Tracy (and Elliot) in Port Charles for a longer stay.
General Hospital’s storytelling often moves quickly. You really can’t miss a day if you want to stay on top of story developments. The show really moved the story along with Tracy.
During her brief stay, she shared a dramatic scene with Laura, spoke with Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner) and figured out that baby Bailey is in reality the missing Louise. Also, Tracy bantered with Martin, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and Ned. No sooner had she learned she was a free woman, Tracy hightailed it over to General Hospital to let Brook Lynn know she figured out the baby drama!
General Hospital Priority Plus
While some overall story arcs take a while to climax, GH is also adept at quickening the pace. You never want to miss a day – especially during those times when Tracy visits. You can bet your ELQ stock that the developments will be fast and furious.
