Weekly Soap Spoilers/Recaps: December 27-31, 2021/January 3-7, 2022

The Young and the Restless

Things come to a head between Billy and Adam, what Devon has to say just might shock Abby, and trouble could be headed straight for Ashland and Victoria!

Week of January 3:

Y&R Restless Rant: Young & Restless needs to read the room and have everyone stop being so damn nice in 2022!

Monday, January 3:

There’s a reason they say you shouldn’t mix business and pleasure. Inevitably, things get complicated… which is exactly what’s bound to happen when Chelsea finds Adam and Sally in the kind of position best described as “compromising.” But hey, they’re all adults This doesn’t have to be a big deal, right? (Yeah, as if!)

The ringing in of a new year always causes people to reflect on the one just passed. When Sharon and Rey take a moment to look back, what conclusions might they come to about their future?

Things haven’t been quite right with Chance since he returned both from the dead and to Genoa City. Abby’s done her best to pretend that everything’s hunky-dory, but she’ll at last find out what’s really going on when her hubby decides it’s time to come clean.

Peter Bergman reveals the medical crisis that sidelined Jack — plus, ‘good stuff’ in store (hallelujah!)

Tuesday, January 4:

Lily and Victoria are both strong women with opinions they’re not afraid to voice. When they wind up on opposing sides, will they figure out a way to get back on the same page? And are we crazy to assume that Billy is at the heart of whatever has them taking sides?

Remember how just yesterday we were saying that things didn’t have to get weird between Chelsea and Sally just because of Adam? Well, strike that, because today, Chelsea’s all about setting a trap for the redhead.

Meanwhile, Adam — you know, the guy who seems to cause trouble without even trying — is on the receiving end of a warning from Chloe.

Wednesday, January 5:

Fresh off her talk with Chance, Abby has a sit-down with Devon, who is completely caught off guard by what she has to say. Could it be that the already complex Dominic situation is about to get even more so?

Having felt a bit lost of late himself, Nick encourages son Noah to explore a new opportunity that has presented itself. Meanwhile, we can’t help wondering if perhaps Nick might take his own advice by pursuing something that, while not exactly new, is certainly close to his heart: a reunion with Sharon!

When Chance finds himself in need of assistance, he hopes that Rey will be able to provide it.

Thursday, January 6:

Ashland and Victoria haven’t been married all that long, but there may already be cracks appearing in their foundation. For example, it seems unlikely that Victoria will be particularly overjoyed when Ashland questions his wife’s motives. (Given that he has a very big secret about to come out, Ashland might want to consider proceeding with caution… )

Speaking of Billy, it looks as if he’s about to get exactly what he’s wanted ever since that whole Gaines incident as he manages to turn the tables on Adam. Something tells us that this won’t be the end of the war between them, but only the beginning.

Devon’s taking a stand, and he’s not about to budge. How far is he willing to push the people around him to achieve his goal?

Friday, January 7:

Traci has long been the heart, soul and moral compass of the Abbott family. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that anyone listens to the sound advice she offers! When she tries steering Billy in the right direction, will he take her words to heart or, like he’s done so often before, simply brush them aside?

Amanda’s been a good friend to Phyllis. When the legal eagle does what she does best — offer a bit of counseling — will it help Phyllis figure out what her next move should be?

Nate and Elena have only just moved in together, but they already might be heading for a potential stumbling block. When they must deal with a conflict of interest, will they figure out a way to do it as a united front?

The Bold and the Beautiful

2022 gets off to a rocky start for the residents of Los Angeles. Paris is feeling a little bit guilty about the kiss she shared with someone other than Zende. But if she knew what was going on with Brooke, she’d feel a whole lot better by comparison. Before the week is out, Deacon will lose a champion, Ridge will learn a secret, and Taylor will get a glimpse at the darker side lurking just beneath Sheila’s surface.

Week of January 3:

Monday, January 3:

They say the person you kiss at midnight is the one you’re going to be with the rest of the year… which is downright awkward for Paris, given that she smooched Carter! She tries explaining why she locked lips with him the night before, but how much of an explanation is really necessary given that he’s a sexy, nice guy?

Brooke, too, wakes up with a few regrets about what she did on New Year’s Eve… or should we say who she did! Given that we saw sparks flying between Deacon and Brooke the moment he stepped back into town, we’re not surprised by this turn of events. She, on the other hand, is devastated!

Tuesday, January 4:

Ridge isn’t thrilled with the fact that Deacon wound up hanging around on New Year’s Eve, and he’s got questions for his wife. The big question for Brooke is whether or not to tell Ridge the truth about what happened. The thoughts racing around in her mind aren’t helped at all by the fact that the devil on her shoulder is suggesting that the whole situation might be made easier if she would only throw back a drink or two. (The angel, however, is likely pointing out that booze is exactly how she wound up in this position to begin with!)

Wednesday, January 5:

Nothing makes Sheila happier than having a full to-do list. Topping her agenda today? Swinging by for a chat with Taylor. After all, what better way to keep the shrink in her corner than by trying to help Taylor push Brooke out of the picture? And while Taylor’s not exactly blind to the manipulative ways of Steffy’s mother-in-law, there’s no harm in just chatting with her… right?

Over the past few weeks, Hope’s been thrilled at how well her father’s visit has gone. Sure, Ridge wants Deacon gone, but Brooke has been fully in his corner. So you can imagine how devastated Liam’s wife will be when her dad reveals that Brooke’s made it clear he is no longer welcome in their lives!

Thursday, January 6:

Let’s be honest: Taylor isn’t exactly Brooke’s biggest fan. But even she’s taken aback upon seeing just how much Sheila hates the blonde. Knowing how dangerous Finn’s mom can be, will Taylor feel the need to warn her longtime rival… or might she say to herself, “Let’s just see how this all plays out.”

Meanwhile, Brooke decides that she can no longer keep the secret she’s been carrying around. Well, let’s rephrase that: She can no longer keep at least one of the secrets she’s been carrying around. How will Ridge and Hope react when Brooke admits that she fell off the wagon on New Year’s Eve?

Friday, January 7:

Ridge can sometimes be hard on those he loves, but he can also be their biggest supporter. (You just never know how the wind’s gonna blow with this guy!) When Brooke decides to attend an AA meeting, he’s right there by her side.

Perhaps buoyed by the love and support she’s received from Hope and Ridge, Brooke faces down the crushing shame she feels and admits that she has a problem. Will this be the first step toward regaining control of her life?

First came Jason’s death, then the tragic passing of Brando and Sasha’s newborn son, Liam. What’s the devastating news that hits Port Charles now… and how much more can the residents take?

Curtis and Portia step things up where their relationship is concerned.

There are certain benefits to having a therapist as a husband… although it can also be problematic. Which way will it go when Kevin tries convincing Laura that she should open up to him?

Shawn has a surprise for Alexis.

Wednesday, January 5:

It’s felt as if trouble might be coming Michael and Willow’s way for a while, and that’s definitely the case when the lovebirds find that they aren’t on the same page.

Despite the number of people cheering her on, Alexis can’t help but doubt her abilities.

Maxie is the object of much fretting by Anna and Felicia. Are they right to be concerned?

Suspicious eyes are looking Brook Lynn’s way. Can she avoid looking guilty?

Dante finds time to catch up with dad Sonny.

Will grief push Sasha to make bad decisions? The beauty insists she knows how to deal with the emotions she’s feeling, but is she lying to everyone… including herself? Meanwhile, Gladys is there to try and reassure Brando that everything will work out for the best.

Sam and Alexis get hot under the collar when they have to deal with an unexpected visitor.

Friday, January 7:

It’s been a rough couple months for Sonny and Carly. When they sit down to discuss their future, will they wind up on the same page?

Phyllis has always been a straight-shooter, so it might behoove Nina to listen to what her friend has to say.
