The week of September 19, 2022

Primetime and daytime vet, Linda Purl, is playing Mrs. Roberts, a woman from Carly Corinthos’s (Laura Wright) past. Purl previously appeared as Doreen on Secret Storm (1973-1974) and Claire on Port Charles (2000). Her primetime credits include Happy Days, Matlock, Homeland, and The Office.

Michael Flynn portrays George on Monday, September 19. The character will share scenes with Maurice Benard’s Sonny Corinthos. Flynn’s credits include the recurring role of General Calussar on The CW series The Outpost.

General Hospital History

GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named Port Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
