Robert Scorpio and Holly Sutton Scorpio fans aren’t going to want to miss a single episode of General Hospital now that Holly’s on her way back to the story canvas. As previously reported, Emma Samms, Holly’s portrayer, is returning to the ABC soap. Soap Hub chatted with Tristan Rogers, who plays Robert, about both Holly’s return and Robert’s relationship with his first wife, Anna Devane.
GH’s Tristan Rogers Talks Holly and Anna
Soap Hub: Holly’s finally on her way back!
Tristan Rogers: This rumor has been floating around forever. I didn’t fully believe it until it was confirmed to me.
Soap Hub: It was smart of the show to let viewers know two
years ago that Holly was alive — even though her loved ones believe
she’s gone for good.
Tristan Rogers: Yeah. I have no idea what the storyline is going to be.
I haven’t asked. I’m happier that way. I am kind of wondering where
it’s going to go. The concept [of Robert and Holly] is an unresolved
relationship. I don’t know how it’s going to work.
Soap Hub: You and Emma were front and center once the show put you together in 1983.
Tristan Rogers: I remember that time well. I think the only
reason Robert and Holly aren’t more of an issue [today] is because
[Emma] lives in England. In the meantime, the Robert and Anna [Finola
Hughes] thing has stayed constant.
Soap Hub: How would you describe Robert and Anna’s relationship today?
Tristan Rogers: They’re like an advanced brother and sister.
We’ve got some stuff coming up. [Robert and Anna] argue. They agree to
disagree. It’s an amazing dynamic.
Soap Hub: You’ve said that someday Robert and Anna will end up together down the line — but not necessarily romantically.
Tristan Rogers: They don’t need a romance. Whenever I do public
appearances, and people ask about Robert and Anna getting married. They
don’t need to. Will marriage make their relationship any better than it
is now? No. They’re just right the way they are now. What happens to
married couples in daytime? They get un-married. Now, Robert is always interfering in her romantic life.
He twists the knife. She hates it, but in a way, she goes along with
it. Whenever there’s an issue, and something has to be done, she goes
back to him.
