A Critic’s Review of The Bold and the Beautiful: Booby Prize & A Win

When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review

And just like that, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) are reunited and The Bold and the Beautiful’s status quo abides. What do you want to bet that any and all fallout from this decision will be swept under the rug in spite of the months (and months and months) spent building up to moment that every tried and true B&B fan saw coming?

As an aside, dear readers, before taking to the comments section and either igniting or flaming a war between ‘Logan Lovers’ and ‘Forrester Forever Supporters’ let me note that Brooke didn’t exactly “win” anything other than a booby prize. The moment that Ridge feels unseen or unheeded, right back to Taylor Hayes’s (Krista Allen) side he will run…and if she won’t have him, and I’m really hoping that she won’t because I’m rooting for either a Taylor/Jack Finnegan (Ted King) or a Taylor/Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) coupling, Ridge will just turn to the next willing lady.

If you ask me, the better conclusion to this waffling storyline would have been Brooke telling Ridge to kick rocks and then Taylor slamming the door in his face when he came crawling to her.

Further B&B Musings

* I know that I’m supposed to feel sorry for Paris Buckingham (Diamond White)…BUT I DON’T! And it has everything to do with the fact that she’s a character who’s never possessed a throughline.

* If The Bold and the Beautiful was hoping to explain Mike Guthrie’s (Ken Hanes) unhealthy infatuation with Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), perhaps they should have chosen flashbacks that better illustrated their sick, twisted, and oh-so delightful past.

* Kudos to Tanner Novlan for delivering a tour de force without ever getting off his back.
