GH spoilers have teased that Nikolas Cassadine and Spencer Cassadine aren’t in the greatest father-son spot these days, what with Esme Prince being there to fan the flames in both directions.
GH Spoilers Speculation
And as long as they’re at each other’s throats, we’d like to bring up a plot point that could sever what’s left of their family connection for good.
General Hospital Family Tree
Back in the 1990s, when it was believed that Stefan Cassadine (Stephen Nichols) fathered Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), not Stavros Cassadine (Robert Kelker-Kelly), much was made by Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) about how Stavros died (he didn’t do that either) without a legitimate heir, which meant Nikolas couldn’t inherit the Prince title.
Well, guess what? Nikolas turned out to be Stavros’s (though he could be considered legitimate when his mother, Laura Collins, was legally married to Luke Spencer at the time, which means Laura and Stavros’s union was illegitimate…even without the kidnapping and coercion part). But Nikolas wasn’t married to Courtney (Alicia Leigh Willis) when Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) was born, so his baby boy isn’t legit, either.
GH Spoilers: Self Esteem
Spencer draws a lot of his snotty arrogance from being a snotty princeling. How will he react when he learns he won’t be inheriting the title — especially these days when Daddy isn’t exactly thrilled with him?
General Hospital Spoilers: It Gets Worse
But what if, to really stick it to Spencer — and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) – Nikolas divorces his current wife and marries…Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl), who can give Nik a legitimate heir.
Can you see all the whining Spencer will descend into? All the self-pity? All the running to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) to pat him on the shoulder and say, “There, there. There, there. You are the bestest boy.”
Of course, what if the baby Nik thinks is his turns out to be Spencer’s after all, and then the whole cycle starts all over again?
