Is Victoria Responsible For Ashland Young and the Restless Death?

Ashland Locke is officially dead on The Young and the Restless. Nicholas Newman thinks he killed him. Viewers are pretty sure Victor Newman was behind making it look like he didn’t — and/or finishing the bleeding man off.

Young and the Restless Polling

But where does Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) fit in? Does she have any reason to feel guilty for the end of the Locke-Ness Monster on her watch?

Blame the Y&R Victim

Ashland (Robert Newman) lied to Victor’s (Eric Braeden) daughter and broke her heart. And there is only one penalty for that. (He also made Victor look like a complete idiot for first buying his lies and defending him, then pretending that never happened — this is gaslighting to the nth degree.) The minute Ashland upset Victoria, he upset Victor — and signed his own death warrant. Everything that happened next was completely his fault, 47% assert.

The Young and the Restless Other Victim

Victoria is to blame for falling in love with a man her family didn’t approve of, 45% of you counter. If she had just listened to her family — by which we mean Nick (Joshua Morrow), who was the only one who tried to stop her wedding; but, sure, let’s pretend that it was all of them right from the start — then she wouldn’t have married Ashland, and she wouldn’t have divorced him, and he wouldn’t have had to threaten her, and he wouldn’t have gotten himself killed. No one else was responsible for anyone else’s actions…Victoria is to blame for it all!

Big Y&R Man

Nothing happens in Genoa City without Victor’s buy-in. This is a fact. Alas, that means that when Victor is responsible for all the good things in town, he has to be, ipso facto, responsible for all the bad things. We’re not sure yet if Ashland’s death will ultimately be for the good or the bad, but 8% still put the responsibility on Victor.
