General Hospital Long Haul: Will Sonny and Nina Make It?

It’s been Sonny Corinthos and Carly Corinthos on General Hospital for so long — save his periodic breaks to pant after Brenda Barrett — that it’s hard for some in Port Charles, not to mention viewers, to think of Sonny with Nina Reeves.

General Hospital Polling

And yet, Nina (Cynthia Watros) is whom Sonny (Maurice Benard) is with now. But can this relationship make it long-term? Here’s what almost 2,000 voters told us.

Biding His GH Time

Are you kidding, 74% of the audience is trying hard not to snort-laugh? This is just a blip on the Sonny and Carly (Laura Wright) endless love ride. Sonny is a little cranky now, what with Carly marrying Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) while he was presumed dead, and he’s acting out with Nina. But, in the end, Sonny will return to Carly. Sonny will always return to Carly. Always.

Working Through It General Hospital Style

This couple certainly has potential, 21% of you agree, but they have so much to overcome. For instance, you know how Nina told Sonny she wasn’t interested in having screaming arguments with him where they both call each other horrible names like he did with Carly?

How is Sonny supposed to react to that? He doesn’t know any other way to demonstrate his affection, and if the woman he’s with doesn’t appreciate it, then he won’t even realize he’s in a relationship!

GH For Good

Then again, a scant 5% of fans believe the above is exactly what Sonny needs. He needs a woman to call him out on his terrible, toxic behavior and one who’ll not just teach him how to behave better but demand it of him.

Nina is the best thing that ever happened to Sonny, and if he truly embraces that, it could be the most fulfilling relationship of his life. If he’s willing to move on from Carly…of course.
